  1. The oldies are very good, but Tomorrow Never Dies is my favourite. As for actors, I don’t mind most. It’s much easier to like those who played James Bond than it is these days to like those who play characters like Dr Who.
  2. He’s not had the best start managing MK Dons, but they do have a much better squad. I could see them bringing in someone with more experience if he wanted to leave. Carlisle are very limited. I don’t see the attraction either, even though he might be northern based. You can wait years before being appointed to take charge of an ambitious squad. It wouldn’t look good on his CV to leave.
  3. I wished that Junior Morias would be given a proper shot. But why would we loan out a player we wanted to keep, then bring in a player who can play the same position for the rest of the season? Both Morias and Kyle Cameron fit this “loan to release” system we seem to have adopted.
  4. Good photo of them both. I wonder what they said? “This is no Meadow Lane, is it?”
  5. t’s wonderful to see players like Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley thriving. Their performances against Bromley were nothing short of spectacular. Jones’ two-goal display and Crowley's influential strike underscored their importance to the team. The way they turned the game around showed not just skill but immense character. Stallard’s insights reflect what many of us feel - these players are special. It’s also encouraging to have depth in the squad with talents like Jatta coming off the bench. We need to build on this win and strive for consistency if we are to achieve our ambitions this season.
  6. Jodi Jones’s loyalty and enthusiasm for the club are refreshing. His bond with fans is special and lovely to see, making every game more exciting. The fact he’s a team player, always valuing assists over personal glory, shows his good character. Under Maynard’s guidance, Jones continues to thrive, and his decision to stay shows the club’s ambitions moving forward. It’s not just a contract extension; it’s a statement that Notts County is building a future with heart and drive.
  7. Thank you all for the kind congratulations. To be honest, I had no idea, and I’m just trying to enjoy what the site has to offer. I’m pleasantly surprised, so thanks again!
  8. It’s great to have JJ committed to a longer contract. There will always be interest in him while he plays so well, but at least we won’t have to worry about his deal running out until 2027.
  9. This is a very enjoyable read, and I agree with the points raised. The squad is looking stronger. I had concerns about the departures, but I think George Abbott is an excellent addition. He’s exactly the type of loan player you want to bring in. You can also see how much they’re enjoying playing together.
  10. Paul Devlin's career is a brilliant mix of talent, hard work, and perseverance. His journey from the non-league pitches to the Premier League is truly inspiring. The fact that he earned ten caps for Scotland, despite being born in England, adds an international flair to his story. It's amazing to see how he became a key player at every club he joined, particularly at Notts County and Birmingham. His ability to adapt and shine even when the odds were against him speaks volumes about his character. This article is a fantastic tribute to a remarkable career.
  11. Honouring Sven-Göran Eriksson with a minute's applause exemplifies the respect and admiration the Notts County community holds for him. Beyond his on-field successes, his personal integrity was evident in his decision to waive his payoff. This gesture was more than just generous; it was a testament to his deep respect for the club. As fans gather to pay their respects, it's clear that Eriksson's influence will continue to inspire. His legacy is one of hope, ambition, and a true love for the beautiful game.
  12. Hats off to Stuart Maynard and the team for another brilliant win. The tactical flexibility shown against Swindon is exactly what we need to sustain a promotion push. Holding on to a lead in such a tightly contested match shows the grit we have. McGoldrick rolled back the years with two phenomenal goals and proved his worth. It’s exciting to see how the new signings will blend into the team and offer even more depth. Special mention to the defence and keeper for absorbing the pressure effectively. Consistency will be key, and if we improve our ball recovery, we can surely challenge for the playoffs.
  13. He seems like a bit of a gamble. Notts probably sees him as someone who can open up play and provide assists rather than a straightforward goalscorer. The number of goals he scored last season wasn't great compared to his appearances.
  14. Reading about George Abbott's thoughts on joining Notts, I’m encouraged by his enthusiasm and level-headed approach. Leaving Tottenham, where he spent his formative years, to step into a more challenging and diverse football environment is certainly commendable. His research into Notts County’s fan base and his appreciation for their support before even starting a game shows a lot about his character. Abbott's defensive focus and ability to link play from the back to the front should significantly bolster our squad. It’s clear that he’s ready to take on the big crowds and step up to the challenge. Here’s to a successful season ahead with George contributing on the pitch!
  15. All deaths are sad, especially when you are in the middle of your own life. I am sorry to hear that he has passed away. I wish his family and friends comfort. I will remember him as a man who smiled and tried to help the club I love.
  16. I’m not worried about goals with this squad, but I am concerned that if Jatta gets injured or suspended, we’ll have to rely on David McGoldrick and Cedwyn Scott. Scott is being played in a position that doesn’t seem natural to him. If he moved up front, it might take time for him to adjust. That’s why we need a signing like Macaulay Langstaff. Jatta is a fantastic talent, and I’m sure he’ll score goals and do well in our team. Wanting another option isn’t about replacing him, but about having more depth and quality. As I said, he’ll get goals. It would be great to hear his chant more and see him score more. He’s a very important part of the squad.
  17. It’s sometimes hard to see what happens, but I’ve seen a video Sky Sports released that clearly shows the ball bouncing off both of Dan Crowley’s hands. As for the offside, I’m not sure there was any interference. They change the rules so much it’s hard to be certain. It did look like offside, but I think even if the goals were disallowed, Notts would have gone on to win anyway. It was a brilliant performance, and I understand Grimsby fans’ complaints, but the decision is final now. They’ll get a similar favour at some point, which they might not mind then.
  18. I’m not being negative, but I think it shows the level our women’s team is at and where improvements are needed. Not every team will beat them like that, but it does show how good Loughborough are.
  19. I feel bad hearing that Gerald Bajami has suffered the same injury. If it’s his other knee, that would be worrying. Best wishes to him.
  20. I’m looking forward to seeing how he fits into the team. He sounds like a reliable defender and is at an age where he could improve with more game time. It’s a very promising addition to the Notts squad.

  23. Will he go into coaching or punditry? I wish him all the best; he's had a good career.
  24. It's outrageous how they lower the prices, only to raise them even higher than before. It shouldn't be this high, but at the very least, it should stay at a reasonable level. How much profit does an energy company really need to make at the expense of people's lives?
  25. Please send my well wishes to @AmericanPie. Like others before me, I am saddened to hear about his health problems. He had mentioned some in the past, and it seemed they had been taken care of. I wish they had been for him.
