  1. The squad has impressed me because they have grown in confidence since the opening day and the 2-2 draw against Fleetwood Town. It’s like those games were matches our players believed we should have won. Therefore, they have the drive to make sure we improve on the performances, and we have. Notts are looking exciting, and while it’s early days, it’s promising! I hope we can maintain our undefeated start against Gillingham.
  2. Happy Belated Birthday @ARLukomski! Hope your day was as special as the victory we had yesterday.
  3. It's great to see Notts handling the pressure so well, even when things start off poorly. Stuart Maynard’s tactical tweaks were spot on, and it shows how prepared and versatile the team is. Jodi Jones was fantastic with his brace, and Dan Crowley’s goal added the icing on the cake. Our defence also deserves praise for their resilience as Bromley pushed forward after we equalised. This kind of performance is what makes a team championship-calibre. Here's hoping we can maintain this unbeaten streak and continue to impress.
  4. Jodi has always been a standout player, and extending his contract is a massive boost for us. His drive to score more goals while keeping up the assists will be crucial in our push for promotion. The team looks stronger with the new players, and Jones’s dedication to consistently perform well throughout the season is encouraging. We’ve seen clubs lose steam, but having a player like Jodi Jones focused on the long game gives us confidence. It’s fantastic to hear he’s comfortable returning to the right wing, where he seems to thrive the most. Let’s hope this is the year we make our mark!
  5. Welcome back, WRM. Are you sure you’re not the living dead? It sounds like you have had a rough time. I am sorry to read about that. Take care of yourself. “Always look on the bright side of life.”
  6. Absolutely over the moon to hear about Jodi Jones' contract extension. His impact on the team last season can't be overstated, he was a truly standout player. The fact that he's committed to the club until 2027 shows how much faith both he and the club have in our future together. I particularly appreciate his comments about focusing on adding more goals to his game. This kind of attitude is exactly what we need if we're aiming for promotion. The versatility he brings, being able to switch wings effectively, adds a lot to our playing style. Here's hoping he continues his stellar performances and leads us to greater heights.
  7. A good performance would be nice, but I am more interested in getting those points on the table. I want the players to feel they are heading in the right direction. Bromley will want to show they are good enough to compete with Notts, so it could be a tough game where our lads will have to dig deep. I agree, we have the quality to make the result go our way. I just want to see Notts defend like they have been, without conceding. That would be a confidence boost for everyone.
  8. I am awfully sorry to read about AmericanPie. I have seen comments from him in the past but never knew him on a personal level. I don’t know anyone that well on PON, but I do think the community cares about each other. That should be reminded to him.
  9. Jodi Jones is clearly a very level-headed player. I wouldn’t blame him for wanting to play at a higher level at this stage. He’s still quite young and has the best years ahead of him, but he’s committed to Notts. What a fantastic attitude to have, as he seems to think he owes us something. He really doesn’t.
  10. How many seasons have they gotten away with cheating? It’s a joke when clubs try to fight it and delay it. I think the FA and Premier League need to be stricter when clubs don’t abide by the rules. We know they have broken certain rules, so the punishment needs to fit the amount of time taken to apply any penalties or sanctions.
  11. @Countyman I had a similar experience bumping into Brian ‘Killer’ Kilcline, but I obviously knew who he was. This was when he played for Coventry. He was very friendly, but his appearance was still very intimidating. He warmed up when I told him I was from Nottingham, but he did ask me which team I supported, which put a bit of a stir in his eyes. Thankfully, we all know which team that is.
  12. Securing Jodi Jones' signature until 2027 is an incredible achievement for Notts. His 24 assists record is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his influence on the pitch. Not only has he been a consistent creator for his teammates, but his growth as a goal threat and defensive player shows his all-around development. With his continued stellar performances, Jones is destined to lead the Magpies to greater heights in the coming seasons. His ability to adapt and excel, particularly on the right wing, makes him a crucial part of our strategy moving forward. Well done to the club for sealing this deal!
  13. What a brilliant piece of recruitment we had this summer! Alex Bass has been a fortress in goal, and his performance against Tranmere can only be described as commanding. The defensive additions, especially Bedeau and Platt, have transformed our backline into a much more resilient unit. The midfield depth with the likes of Curtis Edwards and Jack Hinchy is impressive, giving us options to rotate and keep players fresh. The balance and flexibility the new signings bring truly reflect a well-thought-out strategy. I feel like we have all the tools to challenge for success this season.
  14. I really enjoyed reading Steff's perspective on Bromley FC. It's fascinating to see how a small club can make such significant strides in the Football League. The fact that Bromley has managed to maintain their composure and perform well, despite the occasional ups and downs, speaks volumes about their resilience. Their recruitment of a gamer for tactical insights is quite innovative and shows a modern approach to football management. Notts will need to be on their toes, especially in dealing with Bromley’s attacking style.
  15. Don’t take anyone for granted. Try to be there for your friends, especially if you know they are suffering. Let them know you are there, even if it’s just a simple hello. It makes a difference. The video is gripping and powerful.
  16. I’m thrilled to see Jodi Jones get the recognition he deserves. His nomination for League Two Player of the Month is no surprise considering his performances. Three assists and two goals in August highlight just how influential he’s been. His ability to unlock defences and create scoring opportunities is unmatched. Jones’ vision and pace add a dynamic element to the team that helps us dominate games. A true professional, he's a role model for younger players and a joy for us fans to watch. Even if he doesn’t win this time, he’s already a winner in our eyes and crucial for our promotion aspirations.
  17. I'm always thrilled to read about former players who went on to great things, and Paul Devlin is one of the best examples. His journey from Tamworth to the heights of English football is truly inspirational. His stellar performance at Notts County and his memorable stints at Birmingham City and Sheffield United show what a versatile and determined player he was. The fact that he even earned caps for Scotland is just the icing on the cake. This article captures his career beautifully and reminds us all of his outstanding contributions to the game.
  18. Brilliant fan gallery, the Faces of PON. I am sure each of the fans who see their pictures cherish them.
  19. What a performance from Notts County! Despite missing key players like Jones, Crowley, and Jatta, the team showed incredible depth and quality. McGoldrick’s two goals were sensational, showcasing his skill and experience. Bass was equally impressive, making crucial saves to keep a clean sheet. Abbott was a standout in midfield, breaking up play and linking well with his teammates. The team dominated possession and created numerous chances, highlighting their growing confidence and cohesion. This win is an excellent testament to the squad's capability and potential for the rest of the season. Thrilled for the lads!
  20. Maynard’s comments about Accrington being in a false position are spot on. Just because they’ve had a slow start doesn’t mean they won’t put up a fight. It’s easy to underestimate teams like that, but I’m glad Maynard and the squad aren’t taking them lightly. It’s going to be a tough game, but with our unbeaten run and the way we’ve been playing, I’m confident we can come away with the win. The team seems really united, and with the quality we’ve got, especially with the new signings, we should be aiming high this season. Let’s keep this run going.
  21. The decision to honour Sven-Göran Eriksson with a minute’s applause is a beautiful gesture that highlights the profound impact he had on Notts County. Eriksson’s arrival brought a new wave of optimism, leading the club to impressive achievements such as winning the League Two Championship. However, his true legacy lies in his character and integrity. As supporters, players, and staff come together to celebrate his life, it’s evident that his influence extends well beyond his tenure. Eriksson will always be remembered as a legend at Meadow Lane.
  22. Accrington Stanley's transformation under Andy Holt has been nothing short of remarkable. Holt's focus on both infrastructure and youth development is commendable. Players like Shaun Whalley and Tyler Walton add a lot of quality to the squad. Notts, on the other hand, will need to be at their tactical best to counter Stanley's strengths. Farrend Rawson's potential showdown with our forwards will be pivotal. Both teams have a lot on the line, and a draw seems like a realistic prediction.
  23. I'm feeling confident about our chances against Accrington. Our attacking players have been on fire, and the defence has been doing a great job of shutting down opponents. I hope we can continue to impress the fans and secure another victory at Meadow Lane.
  24. It's brilliant to hear how Macari is settling into Notts County. Moving from Stoke City, especially with strong family connections, must have been tough. Still, he’s proving his worth here. His focus on defensive improvements indicates his awareness and growth as a player. I appreciate his comments on wanting to get clean sheets; it’s a vital aspect for any team aspiring for success. Macari’s dedication to play every game this season is commendable, and it’s refreshing to see such enthusiasm. His reflections on last season vs. this season show his maturity. Keep pushing, Lewis!
  25. Thrilled to have George Abbott join Notts for the season. His experience and leadership at such a young age are impressive. I think his versatile playing positions will be a huge benefit for us. Abbott’s involvement in Tottenham’s first-team preparations and success with their Under 21s show he’s got what it takes to excel. Richard Montague’s comments highlight the club’s positive outlook on this signing, and I share that sentiment. Abbott’s winning mentality and athleticism are exactly what we need. Can’t wait to see him make his mark at Meadow Lane. Best of luck, George!
