  2. I don’t get why we’re sticking with just three options up front. Mai Traore looked more comfortable in attacking midfield than he did as a striker. Away to AFC Wimbledon, he didn’t seem switched on at all. He was walking about like it was his first game. If Alassana Jatta had been fit, I think we’d have had a real chance of taking it to penalties. We definitely need another striker. There’s not enough depth up top.
  3. Delroy Facey, we loaned him out to them before he joined permanently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delroy_Facey
  4. I thought Paterson’s words about respecting the game summed up the first half. We didn’t force it, stayed patient, and although we made an error, it didn’t collapse us like it might have earlier in the season. The second half was all about reaction and that’s what I loved most. You could see the difference in mentality straight away. The fitness side also stood out, the players looked fresher and stronger as Tranmere threw everything forward. That’s progress you can see with your own eyes. For me, this wasn’t just about the three points, it was about showing that we’re learning from past mistakes and starting to play smarter football.

  9. I like what I’m seeing. The site is making big steps forward, and I hope it connects with people who want to change how parts of it look. There’s a huge amount of effort going into Pride of Nottingham. It’s brilliant work!

  11. Jodi Jones has been a huge part of our recent success, and this interview shows why. He’s confident but grounded, always looking for ways to improve his game. Playing further forward makes sense, he’s dangerous when he’s close to goal and can still drift into those wider areas where he’s at his most creative. I also like his point about the structure still being there despite his movement. That balance between freedom and discipline is important. If he can add a few more goals to his game, he could easily be one of the league’s top performers again. Salford won’t be easy, but having players like him in form will make a massive difference.
  12. With the rain falling, I thought it was better to watch it than turn on the telly. I just sat by the window for a few hours, as silly as it might sound, and had a nice cold beer. After all those warm weeks and heatwaves, it’s lovely to enjoy a rainy day, especially with the weekend coming up.
  13. Young players from top academies can be hit and miss, but we’ve already had success with Abbott and it’s clear Spurs trust us to develop their lads. Hall sounds like he’s got a good engine, can play box-to-box or sit deeper when needed. At just 19, it’ll be his first real taste of senior football across a full season, so we’ll need to support him, but the potential is there. Happy with this one.
  14. You've found your way to the heart of Notts County @Stevelatimer, so welcome! Pull up a chair and get involved!

  16. If I knew what was going to happen, I’d go back a few years before 1997 and invest in stocks and businesses that would make me wealthy. Once I had the money, I’d buy Notts County and keep putting funds into the club to help it grow. I’d make sure the chairman was someone who truly understands the club and its history. I might even ask Les Bradd to take on a role where he oversees things, helping guide the club in the right direction. I’d want the staff to be set up in a way that matches how modern football works, even before it became the norm. Planning ahead like that could give the club a real advantage. My aim would be to follow a path like Fulham’s, rising from the third tier all the way to the Premier League. But I think it’s vital that the club keeps hold of people who feel a strong connection to it. That sense of identity matters just as much as success.
  17. Who played in the B team? I suspect most of them were young players. Is Jatta still playing in the B team?
  18. I don’t think it’s fair to pick on people’s honest views and call them negative. I can see the bigger picture, and it matters that the club listens to feedback so things can improve. It’s still early days. Some members might later change how they feel, and that’s completely fine. But it’s okay to raise concerns now. If you don’t speak up, you keep those worries to yourself, and there’s no chance for others to share different views or offer support. Nothing gets better unless the club listens and acts.
  19. It’s been wet and gloomy all day, but after so many sunny weeks, it’s actually nice to have a weekend with rain. It gives a different sort of calm. There’s been no sign of this storm they warned about. I saw the Met Office say there’d be thunder and lightning, but nothing has happened yet. Maybe it’ll arrive tomorrow instead. Still, the cool air feels refreshing.
  20. If it’s your first time in Nottingham, it could be worth asking if Notts have any space on a stadium tour. It’s a good chance to visit Meadow Lane and learn a bit about the club. Even if you just have time to walk round the stadium, it’s a nice area. The Trent Navigation and The Embankment pubs are nearby, both offer food and serve good ale. The Embankment itself is worth seeing if you’re close by. There’s a memorial garden and a lovely walk along the River Trent. It’s just a short stroll from the city centre. The Castle is somewhere I’d also recommend. You could catch the number 10 bus to reach both Meadow Lane and The Embankment from the city centre. Rushcliffe Country Park is another spot worth exploring. https://www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/leisure-and-culture/rushcliffe-country-park/visiting-the-park/
  21. The Morecambe owner seems desperate to keep hold of the club, but it’s a risky situation. Saying that abuse is the reason the club hasn’t been sold feels strange, especially when it’s been reported that someone is interested in buying. This is where the FA and the Football League should step in. They need ways to force sales when owners won’t let go and end up causing even more damage. It’s only fair, not just for the fans, but for the town and for football as a whole.
  22. It’s hard to believe someone could be smiling near a court, especially when facing a driving ban. Even if the photo was taken earlier, it comes across as careless and a bit smug. I’ve never liked Paul Ince, so I’m pleased he’s been made to answer for his actions. Speeding isn’t something that can be brushed off, it puts lives at risk. There’s no excuse for it. If anything, the length of the ban should’ve been longer to properly reflect the seriousness.
  23. Hello, @Andy81. Welcome to Pride of Nottingham. I hope to see you contribute to the site.
  24. Hello, it would be @CryingShame if you didn't introduce yourself. Welcome to PON. If you don't support Notts, you will still be treated respectfully.
  25. I think the club’s media team could be doing more and working in a more organised way. I know they went to Germany, but in the four weeks before Martin Paterson was announced, hardly anything was shared by the club. That’s why I feel they need to be better prepared, because the silence only makes people worry. Dropping the match programmes so quickly and switching to digital content didn’t help, especially when the online updates didn’t grow and sometimes even dropped off. It just adds to the lack of communication. The only concern I really have is not understanding why the friendly against Port Vale was kept secret, only for it to be revealed that we’d won.
