  1. I'm always thrilled to read about former players who went on to great things, and Paul Devlin is one of the best examples. His journey from Tamworth to the heights of English football is truly inspirational. His stellar performance at Notts County and his memorable stints at Birmingham City and Sheffield United show what a versatile and determined player he was. The fact that he even earned caps for Scotland is just the icing on the cake. This article captures his career beautifully and reminds us all of his outstanding contributions to the game.
  2. Brilliant fan gallery, the Faces of PON. I am sure each of the fans who see their pictures cherish them.
  3. What a performance from Notts County! Despite missing key players like Jones, Crowley, and Jatta, the team showed incredible depth and quality. McGoldrick’s two goals were sensational, showcasing his skill and experience. Bass was equally impressive, making crucial saves to keep a clean sheet. Abbott was a standout in midfield, breaking up play and linking well with his teammates. The team dominated possession and created numerous chances, highlighting their growing confidence and cohesion. This win is an excellent testament to the squad's capability and potential for the rest of the season. Thrilled for the lads!
  4. Maynard’s comments about Accrington being in a false position are spot on. Just because they’ve had a slow start doesn’t mean they won’t put up a fight. It’s easy to underestimate teams like that, but I’m glad Maynard and the squad aren’t taking them lightly. It’s going to be a tough game, but with our unbeaten run and the way we’ve been playing, I’m confident we can come away with the win. The team seems really united, and with the quality we’ve got, especially with the new signings, we should be aiming high this season. Let’s keep this run going.
  5. The decision to honour Sven-GΓΆran Eriksson with a minute’s applause is a beautiful gesture that highlights the profound impact he had on Notts County. Eriksson’s arrival brought a new wave of optimism, leading the club to impressive achievements such as winning the League Two Championship. However, his true legacy lies in his character and integrity. As supporters, players, and staff come together to celebrate his life, it’s evident that his influence extends well beyond his tenure. Eriksson will always be remembered as a legend at Meadow Lane.
  6. Accrington Stanley's transformation under Andy Holt has been nothing short of remarkable. Holt's focus on both infrastructure and youth development is commendable. Players like Shaun Whalley and Tyler Walton add a lot of quality to the squad. Notts, on the other hand, will need to be at their tactical best to counter Stanley's strengths. Farrend Rawson's potential showdown with our forwards will be pivotal. Both teams have a lot on the line, and a draw seems like a realistic prediction.
  7. I'm feeling confident about our chances against Accrington. Our attacking players have been on fire, and the defence has been doing a great job of shutting down opponents. I hope we can continue to impress the fans and secure another victory at Meadow Lane.
  8. It's brilliant to hear how Macari is settling into Notts County. Moving from Stoke City, especially with strong family connections, must have been tough. Still, he’s proving his worth here. His focus on defensive improvements indicates his awareness and growth as a player. I appreciate his comments on wanting to get clean sheets; it’s a vital aspect for any team aspiring for success. Macari’s dedication to play every game this season is commendable, and it’s refreshing to see such enthusiasm. His reflections on last season vs. this season show his maturity. Keep pushing, Lewis!
  9. Thrilled to have George Abbott join Notts for the season. His experience and leadership at such a young age are impressive. I think his versatile playing positions will be a huge benefit for us. Abbott’s involvement in Tottenham’s first-team preparations and success with their Under 21s show he’s got what it takes to excel. Richard Montague’s comments highlight the club’s positive outlook on this signing, and I share that sentiment. Abbott’s winning mentality and athleticism are exactly what we need. Can’t wait to see him make his mark at Meadow Lane. Best of luck, George!
  10. He seems like a good player. Spurs fans have said great things about him. He looks like a young player who is ready for the next step in his career. He doesn't seem nervous or unprepared. The way he talks, how Spurs fans talk about him, and his appearance are all encouraging.
  11. I don't trust The72 and FLW too much. They often write clickbait articles. However, Ken Aboh and Dajaune Brown might be good players to consider. If we sign one of them, they shouldn't be guaranteed a starting spot. They need to work hard to earn their place on the team.
  12. I think we should go all out against Swindon. Press them high, force turnovers, and create chances. We need to be wary of their set pieces, but if we can dominate possession and score early goals, we can control the game. The team's recent form gives me confidence that we can get the win. Let's make it happen!
  13. It's encouraging to hear Maynard's optimism despite the challenges of the transfer window. While we've yet to secure an away win, the recent victory over Grimsby has given us a much-needed boost. The club's aggressive approach to the transfer market, coupled with Maynard's emphasis on squad depth and quality, suggests that we're heading in the right direction. Hopefully, the remaining signings can help us solidify our position and achieve our goals this season.
  14. Good luck to Matt Smith. When he left Salford, he said it was with a heavy heart, and now he’s retired. I wasn’t aware he came into football late, at 20, I think I read.
  15. Awful news. It’s such a shame that his ACL continues to be a problematic issue for him. He worked hard to recover after his injury problems with us, and I hope he gets the medical care he needs.

  18. This article really opened my eyes to the life of Tom Keetley, a player I’d heard of but didn’t know much about. His record-breaking feats for Notts are legendary, and it’s incredible to think about how much he achieved during his career. Scoring 39 goals in one season is something most players can only dream of, and it’s no wonder he’s still held in such high regard by the club’s fans. However, learning about the struggles he faced after retirement was quite sobering. It’s clear that footballers in his era didn’t have the same support systems that players do today, and his story serves as a reminder of how important it is to plan for the future beyond football. Keetley was a true legend, both for his on-field achievements and the lessons his life teaches us.
  19. This bit of business is very promising. The defence now looks the strongest we have had in years, and there’s the prospect of much of the back growing together over a number of seasons, provided we keep them. It’s good to see the club striving to be solid at the back. Lucas Ness should be a good addition.
  20. Good questions. I think Fleetwood might give us a very tough home game. They won’t want to face their first loss of the season, but I believe we have a strong squad. I hope we don’t settle for a draw and can impress enough to win.
  21. Stuart Maynard seems to have a clear vision for Notts County this season, and it's great to see. The team was dominant in possession and defensively sound, which is a strong foundation to build on. While the game against Tranmere didn't yield any goals, the opportunities were there. Maynard’s point about needing better execution in the final third is spot on. It was a challenging match, but with a few key players out and a debutant in Conor Grant making such an impact, the signs are promising.
  22. I think a draw is a fair result, even though we had the better chances and more possession. Tranmere defended well and kept us from scoring, but we also showed a lot of promise. The team looked cohesive, and Bass did an outstanding job in goal. It's early in the season, so there’s plenty of time to work on our finishing. If we continue to play like this, I’m confident we’ll start putting away games soon. Our midfield was especially strong, and it’s clear they’ll be a crucial part of our game plan moving forward. A bit more work in training, and we’ll start seeing the results we want.
  23. It could be a miserable day for fans. If Notts do well, the doubters and constant fault-finders will be upset that they have to wait to continue moaning about the club. If the club doesn’t do well, they will be out in force. If we draw, it won’t please most, even if it is a good match. I think we should all be hoping for the best. Tranmere wasn’t that good last season, and with the improvements Notts has made, we should be better. It all depends on how well their new players fit in.
  24. Swindon’s owner, Clem Morfuni, seems very dedicated to improving the club. Increasing the budget has allowed some impressive signings like Grant Hall and Will Wright, both strong defenders. Injuries have been a problem for Hall, but if he stays fit, he could be among the best in the league. Their new wing-backs, Longelo and Sobowale, bring some young energy to the team, and Harry Smith offers a different attacking option with his height and presence in the box. Despite all these positives, the tension between fans and the board is worrying. Success on the pitch often depends on harmony off it.
  25. MK Dons’ attacking depth looks formidable this season. Despite losing their top scorer Max Dean, the arrival of Callum Hendry offers hope. Competition between Hendry, Harrison, and Dennis should ensure no shortage of goals. The midfield creativity from the likes of Connor Lemonheigh-Evans, Tommy Leigh, and Alex Gilbey is top-notch. With such talent behind the strikers, they should break down defences easily. However, defensive frailties cost them dearly last season. New signings Sherring and Offord must step up. Williamson's possession-based style is attractive but needs to be backed by a solid defence. If they get it right, they are obvious favourites. But caution is needed; overconfidence could be their undoing.
