  1. This is an exciting time for us Notts fans! Dan Gosling’s arrival is more than just a signing – his qualities could positively influence the club’s atmosphere. Gosling’s impact on our younger players will be vital. I can envision them learning valuable skills from such an experienced player, which will hopefully strengthen our squad.
  2. Let's be fair, the situation at Oxford United is quite a predicament. Crucial decisions lay ahead. They should see how Short delivers before rushing their decision.
  3. In the world of football, we can't overstate the importance of leadership and experience. Take Dan Gosling, our recent signing, for example. His time at Bournemouth and Everton wasn't just a stint, it was a testament to his strength. He was the rock that brought stability and consistency to the teams. His tenacity never faltered, and his determination was unyielding. No matter what challenges were thrown his way, Gosling stood firm, a quality that is both commendable and inspiring. Now, as we open our arms to welcome Gosling into the Notts County family, there's a buzz of anticipation and excitement in the air. Gosling isn't just a player; he's a symbol of perseverance, a trait that resonates with the spirit of our beloved club. His addition to our squad is more than just a new player on the team sheet. It's about bringing in a wealth of experience and a mindset geared towards victory. We're confident that Gosling's influence will ripple through the team, instilling a culture of resilience and determination. So here's to you, Dan. Welcome to the squad. We can't wait to start this journey with you.
  4. In the current game, the impact of leadership and experience cannot be overstated. The signing of Gosling takes me back to his days at Bournemouth and Everton, where he was seen as a backbone of sorts. His tenacity, determination, and resilience of never giving up regardless of the odds, is something that our brilliant club Notts County could surely benefit from. Welcome to the squad, Dan.
  5. Notts sealing their place under such pressure is proof of their mental strength and solid teamwork. Looking forward to more of such displays of determination!
  6. Bristol City 0-0 Coventry City Hull City 0-1 Southampton Burton Albion 1-1 Bristol Rovers Peterborough United 2-1 Wycombe Wanderers Bradford City 3-2 Wrexham Joker Colchester United 2-0 Harrogate Town Rochdale 1-1 Oldham Athletic Southend United 0-2 Solihull Moors
  7. A perfect reminder that setbacks are part and parcel of sport. We should always remain positive and loyal to our team.
  8. Luke Williams' strategic insights and determination to preserve the defensive record of the team are commendable. Though the transition to higher-level competition presents challenges, his acknowledgement shows realism and resolve. This attitude is key in guiding the team successfully through this new phase.
  9. The significance of tomorrow's match is unparalleled and a landmark in football history. As fans, our role is to provide support for our team, and I’m sure the atmosphere at Priestfield would reflect our passion. Though a win would be perfect, any result putting up a fair fight would make the 5000th game a memorable milestone for Notts County.
  10. It’s great to see the site back up and running again. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into maintaining it and I’m hopeful that things will get better with time. Life throws many challenges our way, but some people always find a way to justify their poor decisions or unkind behaviour.
  11. It’s always a pleasure to have a home draw. I don’t pay much heed to who our opponents are. I believe there’s no such thing as a bad match-up.
  12. Mansfield’s victory was well-deserved, there’s no question about it. They outperformed Notts and controlled the game, while Notts seemed to lose their way when their initial plan didn’t pan out. Luke Williams, in my opinion, needs to address our approach when things aren’t going our way. There were moments when we could have regrouped, but the substitutions didn’t seem to alter the course of the game. The players need to put in more effort in such situations. I’m not criticising Williams; managing a team is a tough job and he shoulders that responsibility.
  13. Given the disappointing results and the apparent dissatisfaction among the majority of MK Dons fans, it becomes challenging to bounce back. It’s even more difficult for the board to resist the urge to make changes. It’s worth noting that MK Dons fans are often perceived as fickle.
  14. In the first 20-30 minutes, we should get a sense of how the game is progressing. If Notts don’t challenge Swindon Town enough and the first half ends 0-0, it might be the first game where we hear complaints from more than just the Pavis Stand. We simply need to be at our very best, as clear chances will likely be scarce.
  15. Mark Stallard is correct, although I don’t see the need for concern. We might very well keep a clean sheet tomorrow against Swindon. The more we worry or panic, the larger the issue will become. I believe the focus needs to be on training, with an emphasis on awareness. We seem to leave defending to one or two players who are closer to the ball. Perhaps Luke Williams might consider instructing the players to move into defensive positions quicker and to provide support?
  16. Had they been reduced to 10 men earlier, we might have snatched the game, but Colchester United deserved the points. I feel confident saying that some might agree with me, but it was their performance on the day that warranted the win.
  17. Colchester United performed exceptionally well, applying pressure and causing issues from the start of the match. It was an energetic game and had both teams’ defences been stronger, it might have resulted in a draw or a closer win. Any spectator would have found the game highly entertaining. While some fans are concerned about the goals we let in, they are quick to commend Colchester. Both teams need to reduce the number of goals they concede, which is why Colchester has been struggling and we are fortunate to have a strong attack. I hope we return to keeping clean sheets soon.
  18. Ipswich Town 1-1 Hull City Plymouth Argyle 0-2 Millwall Blackpool 1-0 Derby County Bolton Wanderers 2-1 Stevenage Crewe Alexandra 0-1 Gillingham Joker Morecambe 1-2 Accrington Stanley Altrincham 0-0 Aldershot Dagenham & Redbridge 1-0 York City
  19. Hopefully, Notts will be able to break through Colchester's organised defence. Keeping fingers crossed!
  20. Norwich City 0-0 Birmingham City QPR 2-0 Coventry City Port Vale 1-2 Bolton Wanderers Joker Reading 2-0 Burton Albion Gillingham 1-1 Mansfield Town Salford City 0-1 Newport County Halifax Town 1-0 Eastleigh Rochdale 1-0 Southend United
  21. It’s evident that the confidence has escalated with each match, contributing significantly to the overall performances. Sam Austin is an exceptional player. I appreciate his straightforward approach and his relentless focus on advancing the ball. Possessing a player like him, who exudes confidence with the ball, provides a multitude of attacking options.
  22. I concur that Sam Graham started off well, but he quickly faded into obscurity and became ineffective. I lost my regard for him after that, and when he returned for the second time, I seriously questioned the rationale behind it.
  23. The goal was a stunner, but the build-up was equally commendable. The patient approach appears to be increasingly adopted these days.
  24. He appeared rather ineffective for us, a tall, gangly defender who seemed to lack any sense of balance.
  25. The highlights from Forest Green are indeed impressive, with the low angle lending a contemporary feel to the match. It’s clear that Connell Rawlinson did clip their player, but it seems he was justified in his attempt, making the decision appear severe. Their player wasn’t poised to score a goal and even handled the ball after contact was made. If Rawlinson was the first to make contact, I would dispute the decision.
