  1. incredibly touching game and well deserved win for notts, i think wrexham dropping points and us going top on goal difference was a remarkable part of the game. the chants from the kop was encouraging and it felt a lot more special. i think jason turner and @GrannyPie would be proud of the lads. as will every other fan who has sadly passed away during 2023.
  2. i dont think we can, as teams can spring a surprise or just perform better than us but i think we are in good form right now. fingers crossed we can get those points.
  3. i would not expect anything different from luke williams, he needs to focus on what he can control and not what is out of his hands. bt sports will always have the say on kick off times of the matches they cover, its frustrating for fans but we have to get on with it. we have had a good amount of coverage this season so at least the money is a boost.
  4. i dont think they will throw much at us, i know some think they have things to play for but really i doubt they will secure a playoff space. i dont want to talk them down to much, but there is a reason why we did so well against them at their ground, i think our confidence is growing again and a good performance would unite the belief that this season is ours for gaining promotion. automatic promotion may not be likely but i am confident about the playoffs. games like this must become routine for us to finish with a win.
  5. having scott back for the final run of games would be a blessing, we just need to keep everyone fit and avoid any injuries that would cause potential set backs. preparing for the playoffs is something luke williams has to be aware of now.
  6. talk of the wealdstone raider again. ???????? i hope we smash them and he leaves meadow lane asking his own fans if they want some. ????
  7. are those on international duty back? we could do with brooks. i have nothing against mair, but i feel more confident in brooks and if slocombe is out again. i would rather go with someone who is comfortable. mair looked nervous and away from home i can picture him being a lot busier than he was on saturday against scunthrope. if he starts so be it, i accept luke williams call but personally i would opt for brooks if hes free. i am not sure what altrincham are like at home but as others said in the last games discussion an early goal would be nice.
  8. i think they were poor but i dont think that takes anything away from the way we played, notts looked a far better class than them. they looked uninterested and like a side not wanting to play as a team. it was honestly one of the worst away performances at meadow lane this season. we should have sealed the 4 goals we won by in the first half. call them the iron? more like a chocolate tea cup.
  9. it probably wont but if there is any doubt, i think it would be a huge risk to play him. i know we are thin up top, but risking a worse injury would derail the club further imo. i am hoping scott is ready to come back. its hard to know what with the club being quite hush hush on injuries and the local media not asking.
  10. i hope this will be a good thing for young fans, its nice that the club has setup something for them and of course the cheaper tickets should get quite a few down.
  11. i can see a few rotations being made due to players being on international duty, the biggest question i think is who will be in goal? if slocombe is not back and brooks is on international duties it leaves us to play mair in goal. jones is away, langstaff could be missing due to the knock he picked up. that itself could present problems, if hes fit enough to start due we risk playing him? if hes not, who will play upfront? ruben? there are many questions. hopefully some of the injured players will be able to return but nobody should be rushed back.
  12. i think its still a good result, we are a step closer to securing the 2nd place which will be helpful for the playoffs. its just that the two points dropped makes fighting for the title even harder, i dont think we will catch them now and that is frustrating. i am incredibly proud of the squad for what they have and are achieving. over 100 points would be a great accomplishment.
  13. its not the result we wanted but i am proud of the notts squad, we cant always win but at least we can keep pushing forward. the amount of points gained, brooks making his way into the team, the squad fighting for promotion are all highlights. its not over until its mathematically impossible no matter anyone says.
  14. i dont like reading some of the tweets and posts to the official accounts on social media, i get some fans are disappointed but this season has been incredible. its not even over, we cant take much notice of williams saying its over. it will only be over when its no longer possible to overtake them but it seems unlikely. a 1-1 draw against barnet is not the worst result, second half sounded brighter from notts. we have had a fair run of games, its a positive season and many good things have happened.
  15. nice words, it makes a change to see something complimentary to notts. i think its the same for both teams tho, without their pressure we may have fallen short sooner. its been a great see for both clubs, a good title race too.
  16. a big test for notts, away from home and somewhere the points are vital to be picked on. barnet should be in or around the playoffs come the end of the season, i can see them wanting to win to push further on up and to maximise their chance of securing the playoffs so its all to play for.
  17. i thought the ref made some bizarre calls but instead of being biased, just completely incompetent. i need to see the highlights to judge the penalty he gave for eastleigh to open up the score, but from what i saw i think it was more them grabbing our players and ours trying to get them off. possibly something they trained on as a way to get a penalty? i think they looked pretty poor. thankfully we had the time and creativity to change the outcome. ruben missing the penalty was a bit of a disappointment but joe mcdonnell did well to make his double save.
  18. as of yet i have not seen the highlights but i thought their penalty was highly controversial. i mean the amount of hand balls they made that could have been given, to the one the ref actually gave. if that is, why was the others ignored? i loved langstaff for trying to get the ball back quickly and encouraging the attacks. i thought all of the players did extremely well against a team that tried to kick them off the park.
  19. i agree with @Richo, hes the most improved. we are lucky that every player has played their role in our season but adam chicksen has been on a another level this season. hes been fantastic!
  20. last season we had a 2-0 win over them but i am mindful that they can cause problems that prevent chances. they know this league well and wont be push overs. we need to see a strong away performance, at least thats what i hope for. whatever the outcome, i refuse to feel defeated.
  21. i think hes done well when he comes in, at times i actually think he deserves a run in the team. the way he can go through players is magical at times. he does not look like a player who can be that skilful but he does it gracefully. deffo a great addition to the team.
  22. the way dorking scored it reminded me of why we are in the national league, it was careless defending but i do feel jim o brien could have tried to get his foot on the ball. hes not to blame solely for the goal but dorking worked the chance well and to their advantage. a different team may have choked to finish that chance. i did wonder how we would score when we hit the post and forced their defenders to block so many efforts on goal. i thought they were going to park the bus and if we had not scored, i think that would have made it harder. thankfully notts worked hard to get back in, i think everyone who played did well. fantastic win in front of the biased bt sports cameras.
  23. very good play by notts to get back into the game, i thought dorking made it difficult at first and they looked decent on the counter. once notts upped the pressure, we become unstoppable. good result!
  24. i think he will stay, all the players out of contract this summer are important squad players but kyle cameron is a must to nail down. i hope he does extend his stay as he seems settled, ruben and chicksen are also not far behind him in terms of players i hope remain at the club.
  25. the club does feel much more professional under the reedtz ownership, both brothers have put a lot of effort into giving the club a solid base to build on. all the signings have been pretty much spot on, the loan area for keepers could be better but that is probably down to what options are out there.
