Buenos Aires, a history thread
This was news to me, but Iβve noticed that Buenos Aires used to be a favourite destination for the wealthy. I wasnβt aware that the area itself was affluent and wealthy. This is quite interesting to learn.

Callum and Jack
Chris Kiwomya deserves a great deal of recognition for bringing the duo to Meadow Lane, as I remember reading that it was his suggestion. Weβve had a number of good loan players, but none quite like these two for a while. Itβs unfortunate that we didnβt have a stronger squad, as they could have been the missing piece in a promotion push back to the Championship. Instead, they helped us maintain our position in League One.

Help Wanted
Perhaps the EFL should appoint a third-party financial regulator who has the authority to scrutinise a clubβs expenditure without any restrictions. However, they should only be able to report concerns and must sign a non-disclosure agreement to prevent them from leaking information to the media or social media, including fan accounts or third-party ones. I donβt anticipate any changes like the ones suggested, but there must be many worthwhile suggestions worth exploring.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Minstermen (A)
York shouldnβt pose as much of a challenge, no disrespect intended, but this would be a pre-season friendly that I would hope Notts could control more easily. We are getting closer to the start of the season, and while the result isnβt important to me, the performances are increasingly so. We need to see our starting eleven at their best, match-fit, and ready to kick off the campaign. I hope we can display a bit of flair and creativity against York. I know itβs a pre-season friendly and these matches are meant to be relaxed training games, but I honestly would like to see some form starting to develop, along with standards in the playersβ individual performances.

Just Supposing.
I wouldnβt be opposed to the club wanting Luke Williams to return, but I believe that even if Swansea City were to dismiss him, a League One club at the very least would consider offering him a new opportunity. His departure was understandable; it was a difficult time for us, but it made sense for him. If he had left when we were performing well, it would have made things much easier for Stuart Maynard. I fully support Maynard; he seems to be a competent coach, and I hope he can achieve the results to solidify his position. However, when his time comes to an end, as it does for all managers, I wouldnβt reject Williams if he were available, although there might be better-suited head coaches at the same time.

Memories of Notts County Cola
This piece of history has taken a turn with the potential work to find a partner to rebrand soft drinks. I donβt think itβs a bad idea at all, but itβs likely to take time to reach an agreement. Itβs unlikely to be cans, but bottles would be ideal. If Notts managed to bring back County Soft Drinks, it would benefit us fans over the current options, which are always increasing.

Macaulay Langstaffβs Transfer Fee: How Can Notts County Maximise Its Impact?
It would be nice to add another striker, but I donβt think we need to spend money in that area. Unless the club wants a marquee signing to replace Macaulay Langstaff, but I think Jatta will do just fine. So, a solid backup to compete against Cedwyn Scott and Junior Morias would be welcome. Some fans are suggesting David McGoldrick could be the fourth striker, but Iβm not sure. He wouldnβt be a regular starter for me. The majority of the remaining squad space is to add depth. A defensive midfielder would be welcome, but we donβt need to spend money to fill most of the remaining places. Having our own training ground would be nice, but potentially expensive. Beyond buying the land, you have to spend money to improve the facility, and this area can spiral into hundreds of thousands.

Where are they now : John Bostock
Johnny Bostock! I would have thought heβd be signed by now. Heβs too good to just be a trialist with Swindon Town. He could be very useful for a League Two team. Itβs just unfortunate that weβve moved forward, and our plans have changed. He had two decent seasons, one of which was flawless.

Carter Foxe signs for Notts
Iβm delighted for Cater Foxe. Itβs wonderful to see a young player secure their first professional contract. I wish him the best on his journey and hope he can make the most of his time at the club.

Ewan Coleman Signs For Notts!
Notts has appointed a kit manager? I was under the impression that the club already had someone in that role. I recall when Mark Draper used to handle it, and Tommy Johnson was also associated with the club. Both were players at Notts before I was born, but I found it intriguing to see how they participated in the training. A warm welcome to Meadow Lane, Ewan Coleman.

Nottingham on Foot
West Bridgeford is surrounded by lovely areas worth visiting. The Green Line, a nature reserve, offers a pleasant walk. The Hook is another peaceful spot. Other recommended places include Colwick County Park, Trent Valley Way, and Attenborough Nature Reserve. These locations are highly recommended for a visit.

Black and White Memories: Ian Marsden on Passion, Family, and Football
Iβve been planning to buy Ianβs book. Itβs a must-have for every Notts fan as it recounts the story of our clubβs triumphant return to the Football League after a period of despair. Football, when compared to life, holds less significance. Some may not show it, but deep down, they know itβs true. The tale of how his family has come together and shown unity in the face of a severe diagnosis, such as a brain tumour, is truly inspiring. Making the most of such a situation must be challenging, but from what Iβve seen on Twitter, the Marsden family has plenty of support. I extend my best wishes to Wendy and Ian.

So What Changed ? Lambs To Magpies.
βThe Magpiesβ is a much better nickname. The change in shirt colour aligns with the clubβs shift away from βThe Lambsβ. I doubt they had any involvement with the club or that the club even considered them. The change was likely made to better establish the clubβs identity in football.

Stuart Maynard. I'm Still Not Sure.
As I see it, this is a new beginning. I believe we should wait until Christmas before passing any judgement on the upcoming campaign. A strong start will certainly ease things, but even if we face difficulties, thereβs ample time for a turnaround. If weβre losing by the odd goal, thatβs something we can accept. However, if the team isnβt performing well, then clearly thereβs an issue. The squad appears to be much stronger now. Stuart Maynard will have had more time to familiarise himself with everyone. A successful transfer window will allow him to make the changes he deems necessary. He might not be heavily involved in recruitment, but Iβm sure heβll advocate for stronger defenders. This is the first season where weβve really focused on improving the team beyond just a single signing. Maynard seems to be a competent coach. Heβs hands-on and oversees the teamβs style of play. Iβm hopeful that a balanced squad and talented players like Jodi Jones will enable him to bring out the best in everyone. He appears to have built a strong rapport with the squad.

The future of my YouTube channel
Has the close and pre-season helped you at all? Is it the process of filming and editing? Would focusing on the positive comments from viewers who enjoy your content help? You mentioned wanting to be good at something. When you think about being good at creating YouTube content, what does that look like to you? Is it about having the most views, or is it about creating something you're proud of and that resonates with your viewers? If you decided to take a break from YouTube, what other creative outlets might interest you? Could you find a way to keep creating content in a format that feels less pressured, like a blog or podcast? You mentioned mental health being a concern. What steps could you take to make creating YouTube content a more positive experience for your mental well-being? Could setting a specific schedule or limiting the time you spend on editing and comments help? These are questions that I think you may want to consider; I don't think you should be tormenting yourself over anything. It is normal to worry, but don't be harsh on yourself. I have always enjoyed reading your comments and watching your videos. The videos where you just talk about Notts are always on point. Maybe those types of videos would be a median between the vlogs? Whatever you choose, I hope you find happiness and still feel part of the X community, along with PON.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Zebras (A)
The outcome wasnβt bad, it would have been a valuable experience for the young players who came on around the 75th minute. For the first team, we need to be mindful that we didnβt field what would be our starting XI. Jodi Jones came on in the second half and David McGoldrick isnβt young enough to lead the front line. I hope he can contribute more this upcoming season but if it turns out like the majority of last season, I hope others are chosen ahead of him. This is what pre-season is about - gaining match fitness and getting the players back on the same wavelength. Itβs about creating good opportunities and delivering decent performances.

An Introduction To Ryley Reynolds
The problem is that at the start of every season a young player is promoted and hyped up, we had this with James Sanderson and many before him. He appears to be a great talent, but I donβt think Notts does enough to further develop our young playersβ abilities. At least not in the right way, they may play a few games in their tim, but the end result is always them being released. Itβs disappointing that the academy does its best, only for the first team to sideline them or underutilise them.

The Palais
I think youβre correct, @Chris. It appears that the main entrance is opposite what used to be Argos. I wasnβt aware of what the building used to be other than a nightclub. Itβs lovely to see some of the memories being shared.

Remembering the Original Meadow Lane Stand: On This Day
- So Who Runs The Notts First Team?
I believe @Piethagoram is spot on. Stuart Maynard will oversee Richard Montague and Joe Palmer will kick-start the process of bringing in new players. Montague appears to be deeply involved with player analytics, for both current squad members and potential signings. From the videos weβve seen, when a new player arrives, Maynard gives them a tour and familiarises them with his vision. However, the financial and contractual aspects are not something a head coach would typically handle. The philosophy has its advantages, and so far, it hasnβt been a bad model. At our level, a few signings might not hit the mark. Over time, this should hopefully decrease. Yet, @Fan of Big Tone is correct, if a player underperforms, itβs more down to who recommended their signing. Maynard can only coach and motivate players, so not all blame lies with him in this scenario.- Notts Academy Is There Any Point?
The Academy's management is exceptionally effective. Everything at our level could be improved, but imagine the frustration of the coaches who invest so much effort into a young player, only for them to be released. Yes, you might start with around 16 youngsters, which is whittled down to 4-5 first-year professionals if youβre lucky. By the end of this journey, ideally, one or two wouldnβt be far off the first team. Selling potential first-team players is one thing, we canβt avoid that, but not providing a supportive environment for them to flourish is a missed opportunity. Iβve always felt that Jim OβBrien should have worked closely with the likes of James Sanderson, Madou Cisse, and Charlie Gill. If the club identified a senior player who could mentor our young players, it might better prepare them for life in the first team. We just throw them in and loan them out, thereβs no time for them to settle and improve with the existing squad.- Alex Kirk .....RCB?
Iβm hoping we sign Alex Kirk. He seems to fit the bill quite nicely and having spoken to one of the Notts coaches recently, he appears to be highly regarded. Heβs at an age where he should be able to step in when needed but also continue to improve over time.- Alassana Jatta
I think everyone felt that Alassana Jatta was brought in as a replacement for Macaulay Langstaff, which now seems to be the case. I believe heβll take over from Macca, leaving Junior Morias as backup. Based on the PSF games so far, it looks like Cedwyn Scott will remain as an attacking midfielder/shadow striker. The club may decide to bring in additional competition. - So Who Runs The Notts First Team?
