  1. Sven will always be remembered fondly by Notts County fans. His arrival made waves and brought more attention to the club that had been there for some time. His passing is very sad, but it shows you can make every minute count and ensure your own narrative is acknowledged instead of that of the media. Rest in Peace, Sven-Goran Eriksson.
  2. I don't think they will be able to compete with interested parties, once a bid is made. I can see him going for more than Β£3 million. I would put his price around Β£5-7.5 million.
  3. @liampie Lions closing in on deals with Liverpool defender, Cardiff midfielder and Serbian striker all linked SOUTHWARKNEWS.CO.UK MILLWALL’S recruitment drive is seemingly gathering pace in the run up to Friday’s deadline with Liverpool defender Calum Scanlon and
  4. @DangerousSausage, Β£4.50 for a good German sausage wouldn't be a bad price to pay. The hot dogs at games tend to be terrible. They have little taste and wouldn't be worth the price. Notts would do well to consider shaking things up inside the ground. The van located in the Kop that sells chips gets plenty of business despite complaints about the price and quality. Just around the back of the car park, there's a portable bar. So, the club sees that there is money to be made, just not in the food department inside the ground.
  5. My suggestion is Mark Yates. He played for Notts in 2017, but a decade earlier, he was at Swindon Town in 2004 on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. I thought he was a decent player for us, in a very limited squad. However, I was surprised to see him end up at Eastleigh and later AFC Fylde.
  6. It's when they're barely famous but are considered important enough to talk to them. It's not every day you encounter someone like David Tennant. I dare you to talk to most of the Z-listers from Essex and not feel like you're going crazy. The worst part is having to write stories based on what they're doing, where they've been, and what they've said. It's pointless, but people pay to read them.
  7. The hot dogs at Notts have a rubbery taste! I don't like them. A nice German sausage would be much better. I wonder if @DangerousSausage would agree? Provided he's not tripping over them, what's the worst that could happen?
  8. Yes, I am aware of these facts. Notts has been credited for many inventions in football. We were one of the original pioneers back in the day. It's a shame how far we have fallen as a club. I don't like the term "sleeping giant," but we are much bigger than League Two in history. We just need to earn our presence back.
  9. It must have been a special moment when he scored and broke the record. Tony Hateley seems to be a highly respected former player who fans of his generation's football truly admire. It's an opportunity for those who were unable to witness his greatness to see and understand what Hateley meant to them.
  10. I'm not in favour of this kind of thing. I don't see the point. Some clubs do put patterns on their regular season shirts and have them for bigger games, but there's no reason to try and make more money from your supporters for a shirt that will be difficult to buy in the first place.
  11. I had a meeting with the editor at my workplace, which lasted about an hour, time I will never get back. It could have been spent more productively, but the positive is that I can now write for the sports websites owned by the main media company. I have been writing about celebrities and conducting interviews with them to date, which is very mundane and boring.
  12. It is likely a child posting the messages to confuse and annoy fans. I am surprised that they are paying for the blue tick. It seems such a waste to spread false information. However, perhaps the intention is to make money from it, in which case the platform needs to address the issue.
  13. Spending the past few seasons meeting up with @liampie and @CliftonMagpie has been enjoyable, especially as Liam has expressed a desire to attend more away games. I started going with my family when I was younger, but my parents do not often go now. When they do, they usually sit in the Pavis or enjoy hospitality. I much prefer the Kop and being surrounded by the lively part of the stand.
  14. I'm curious about how often he attends games. I believe Louis Macari is a very promising player who has performed well so far. It is still early days, but he appears composed enough to secure the third centre-back position as his own.
  15. It must have been thrilling to witness this achievement. I believed that Macaulay Langstaff would be the one to score over 100 goals, perhaps even breaking Les Bradd’s all-time record. @Fan of Big Tone Pride of Nottingham - Notts County Community WWW.FACEBOOK.COM On this day, in 1971, Tony Hateley surpassed Jackie Sewell as Notts County’s leading scorer with his 105th goal in a 2-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers. The 1971/72 season was Hateley’s last at Meadow...
  16. Swindon Town have three very good loan players on their books, all three of them should become vital parts in their progress for this season. They are a team that can have slow starts, but it doesn't change the fact that every game is different, and they will try to be a very organised team at home. I think the game will be quite even in the first half, as players tire and subs are made, that is when I think the game will become more lively.
  17. I have voted and I voted for Dan Crowley. Before I talk about why I chose Crowley, I would like to say that Jodi Jones and Alassana Jatta also deserve to be in the running. Both have been a big part of our team in August. Jatta has scored in the league and in the League Cup. Jodi has been incredible when we needed a push. He helped us get the draw we deserved against Fleetwood. I chose Crowley because I think he has been in better form.
  18. It's time to vote for the Pride of Nottingham's Player of the Season. We have narrowed down the choices. This is not my choice, but it is in line with the Facebook group, which will also count votes. Twitter will count votes soon. Feel free to explain your decision. Tell us why you chose that player.
  19. Honestly, I think his time as the England manager is overlooked because of the 'Golden Generation'. But he was not a bad manager. His time at Leicester City and Manchester City were two exciting periods of his career. It shocked the footballing world when he came to Meadow Lane. People said he was only there for the money, but he insisted he saw us as an ambitious project. He proved them wrong by leaving and not asking for his wages. He deserves a lot of respect for that. He was a very kind person.
  20. His football career was truly remarkable, he was a natural goal scorer. Since our record-breaking season and promotion from the National League, I’ve read quite a bit about him. His talent and contributions to football should be honoured and remembered. This is an excellent read that highlights his life. Tom Keetley is a true Notts legend, deserving of recognition. It’s a shame it took Macaulay Langstaff to bring him back into the spotlight, but at least his grave is no longer unmarked. His headstone will now ensure he is remembered.
  21. I would be more concerned if we weren't showing signs of improvements, and whilst Grimsby is just one game. If this type of form continues, then it would be an advantage to Notts. I don't see either leaving before this transfer window closes, I don't see Notts accepting a bid as enough. It could lead to lower offers in January. If any developments occur, Notts could once again reject or request a higher fee. Football, however, can be unpredictable, and I will be happier when the window closes. Just keep in mind that offers can be agreed outside the transfer window, so it wouldn't be complete comfort once it does close. It just means the next window sees the deal become official. If our form can continue, both Dan Crowley and Jodi Jones see that the club is moving forward. They might agree to extend their stay, I think Jones might be tempted to do this for a year. Crowley is a bit more difficult to speculate about.
  22. I've observed that Alex Bass consistently calls out for Alassana Jatta to aid in defending corners. His height and speed are two areas which give us an advantage, but his ball control and ability to hold up play is outstanding. He's a good finisher too. No doubt the best striker we have at the club, but I do agree with comments about playing Cedwyn Scott as a striker too. Jatta will get goals, because he's well above the level of League Two, and he fits our system incredibly well.
  23. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Medz59. We are pleased to have you amongst our community, feel free to tell us something about yourself.
  24. Go on Magpies, you can do it! Loughborough Lightning beat Lincoln City 6-0 in the first game, so it could be a tough game for our women's team. COYP!!
  25. He has to be very unfortunate or have something that is causing him to be prone to ACL injuries. The move to Burton would have been good had this not happened, when he signed for them, I did feel surprised that they did with his injury last season. Where this leaves him now, I wouldn't want to suggest, but it's hard to see how you can come back stronger and remain with a team at that level. I sincerely hope it doesn't impact his career, but it's unfortunate to be part of football.
