  1. He’s a skilled player at this level, quite refined. His journey began at Stoke City, before Derby picked him up for their academy. He’s got a good speed, enjoys being direct and is skilled at crossing. At the age of 26, there’s still potential for him to develop further and become a player who could excel in a League One team. I don’t think we’re signing him as a replacement for Jodi Jones, so fans need to calm down. I get that losing Macaulay Langstaff was significant, but I doubt any offers for Jones would be so tempting that we’d rush to accept. So, take it easy and appreciate the depth we have in our team. The squad is coming together nicely, though I agree there’s still room for more additions.
  2. I don’t anticipate the club signing a striker anytime soon. The presence of the young lad from Derby among our trialists reinforces my belief that we’ll give our current forwards a chance. They may not get the number 9 shirt, which I think will be reserved for a special announcement. I suspect this will happen during the January transfer window, with the club using it to signal their intent to push for promotion. Players like Junior Morias, who don’t get much game time, deserve a chance. The number 9 shirt should be saved for a high-profile signing in January.
  3. These characters are quite interesting, though having more than one can seem eerie. I’ve seen various characters from the same creator and have been thinking about buying one for my parents. It would be a fun way to show our neighbours where our loyalties lie.
  4. Some of Notts’ older stars, like Tony Hateley, have left a significant mark on the club. From what I’ve read, Hateley was instrumental to Notts, scoring crucial goals and bolstering the team. His legacy will undoubtedly continue to influence the club, as highlighted in the Alumni article.
  5. The club lost their CEO, didn’t they? This could have led to some errors. It’s amusing to see Wrexham list a player who still has a year left on their contract as released. It could be a mistake by the media team, and the player might actually be up for transfer.
  6. Greenland appears to be a beautiful place where one could immerse oneself in nature, despite its sparse population. Nature documentaries suggest that both Greenland and the Faroe Islands remain largely unspoiled by human activity.
  7. It’s possible that he simply didn’t mesh well with our system, and he never seemed like someone who would adapt and thrive. Will Randall’s transfer turned out to be unfruitful, though I don’t hold Notts responsible. It’s largely up to the player to showcase his skills, and the early injuries he sustained appear to have hindered him from making a strong start.
  8. I believe Kyle Cameron may surprise some of our fans with his capabilities and leadership as a captain. I get the sense that he was aware of the impending changes and that prompted him to consider leaving. Some fans might be upset about his decision to leave and accuse him of being sulky about losing the captaincy, but in reality, he has devoted much of his prime career years to the club. I wish him nothing but success, it’s heartening to see him doing well.
  9. Pre-season friendlies are essentially a warm-up. People often don’t realise that players are given specific instructions, such as being told to sit deeper to strengthen the defence. This allows the club to assess their defensive capabilities. I’m aware that under other regimes, fans and the board were thrilled when we dominated non-league teams and won every friendly. However, this only leads to unrealistic expectations among those who are easily impressed and the same individuals who complain when things don’t go as planned. The match against Wycombe will provide valuable insights for the club and Stuart Maynard. I anticipate a closely contested game.
  10. I wonder how many former players our fans would welcome back in a coaching or staff role. Not that we necessarily need them, as we’ve seen many, like Dean Yates when he was hired as a defensive coach, end up being blamed. I’m sure there’s plenty of talent out there that could make for an interesting staff directory.
  11. I’m afraid I don’t know who he is. I looked him up on Wiki, and it seems he’s been a solid player, having played for many reputable clubs. I wish him all the best.
  12. Richard Brindley was undoubtedly one of the best players we let go. However, he just didn’t fit into our system, especially not as a centre back. I have fond memories of him on the right, creating space and passing the ball to others. Unfortunately, our current system doesn’t suit him, and it wouldn’t be fair to keep a player of his calibre on the bench. I hope he thrives at Eastleigh.
  13. I wasn’t able to attend the game, but I followed the updates on the official Notts Twitter account. It seemed like an exciting match. I’m sure there are lessons to be learned from this game, which Stuart Maynard can address. However, a draw in a pre-season friendly isn’t a serious concern. @Robbie, there’s no harm in trying to bring in a young player who can contribute when needed. If his skills are unique, it gives us an extra option, especially with Macca leaving. This would provide someone else in our current squad the opportunity to step up. These friendlies will be crucial for that. If we perform well, the club won’t need to worry about spending money to bring in a striker. The funds could be used elsewhere. Does anyone have any news on why Alassana Jatta didn’t play? Was he even there? I don’t think he’ll be the next to leave, I’m just curious.

  20. It was a shocking and vicious injury, but Sam Stubbs’ comeback and focus is a positive sign. I’m sure he’ll be mindful of the injury, but hopefully, like other professional players, he’ll be able to bounce back as if it never happened.
  21. I try not to post when I feel my disappointment is driven more by anger. I consider myself a rational thinker, so I don’t naturally balance my expectations. This is Notts County, we have to accept the good and the bad in equal measure and enjoy the time we have with our favourite players.
  22. It’s clear that I had hoped Kyle Cameron would stay with us, but I can see why he might feel the need to move on. After giving his all for Notts, he might not be guaranteed a place in the squad due to new signings, and then he had the captaincy taken from him. It must have been especially hard for him to be sold before even wearing our new shirt. This would disappoint me, but I don’t think it takes anything away from Cameron’s character or person. It must have reinforced his belief that it was time to move on. St Johnstone is as good an opportunity for him as Millwall is for Macaulay Langstaff. Being a Geordie lad and available to play for Scotland, he could get more attention from the national side. Cameron doesn’t deserve any bitterness or resentment, this side of our fan base is unattractive and unwarranted.
