Louis Tomlinson duped by criminals re Doncaster Rovers
It makes you wonder if he did any due diligence and why he didn't think about forming his own group of investors. I would never invest any amount of money in something so risky with a group of people I don't know. I am surprised Louis Tomlinson didn't have anyone advise him differently on the deal.

Dickie Bird RIP
The Colin Slater of Cricket! Such a sad passing, but he's had a very good innings, which he should be happy with. Rest in Peace, Dickie.

Rod McDonald’s Form: Too Good to Drop?
Rod McDonald came into the team at the right time, but I think things might have been different had Martin Paterson not brought Matty Platt on against Barrow. McDonald should have stayed on, as he was the best defender in that game, and we were very much outplayed by them. McDonald brought some stability at the back, and the games after showed this. Platt might have come back stronger from being rested, which is what I hope for when he comes back from his injury. He's a good defender, as is McDonald, and there's no reason why the back three can't be these two and Jacob Bedeau based on performances. Right now, the middle of the back three is McDonald's until his form changes, and I hope he manages to keep giving such reliable performances.

Who is your Man of the Match v Crawley?
Well done to Scott Robertson, he played very well, and it is pleasing to have him back in the starting 11. Congratulations to him for winning the official and PON Man of the Match awards.

Fans Forum
I will be covering it and giving my thoughts on what was discussed. I think it's important to break it down as a feature and give some insight into it for those who are not able to make it. It should be a more productive fans forum, provided the form continues, as it will ease some of the upset and bring some clearer perspective. The timing is good, because it does give us a chance to get more fans on board, and if the club can openly speak about the decisions to bring in the loans and clear up some of the confusion about the board cheaping out by signing them, then it might also make some of the negative talkers relax just a bit. I do wonder if the club believes that they will make a difference to help us gain promotion and then leave space open to make signings of a better quality than we could have made this campaign due to being at a higher level, if all things go well. If the options were not much better, why not smartly use the loan system and wait for when things change to reinforce the squad with better-quality players from the transfer market?

Match Discussion: League Two - Gillingham (A)
With Jodi potentially having taken a knock during the international, and despite Martin Paterson saying he's fine, it might be wiser to protect him and allow him to remain on the bench until needed. Yes, he would be a loss somewhat, but we have coped so far, and I think looking after him would be in Notts' best interest. He could always come on as an impact sub, as already suggested. As for Ollie Norburn, I think we'd miss his physicality that he brings to the side; we need someone who will let Gillingham know we mean business without picking up a card. Paterson has addressed the threats that he sees from the opposition, so we need to show that preparation when dealing with their set pieces. It should be a good game for sure; I can't see us allowing this occasion to slip.

Understanding The Reedtz Vision for Notts County
We have some of the best squads under the Reedtz era than most of the ones I grew up watching, memories and talented players. All something that wouldn't happen without them investing and changing our fortunes. I understand that everyone wants a promotion, but it should not come at the cost of blaming the best hands we have had in years, no matter how grim things can be at times. A lot of the issues some fans have is that they can't wait, but when we are not ready for promotion, it can come back to haunt us. I would rather show some patience and understanding that not everything will be perfect, while understanding that there is a system in place and the owners are ambitious. The Reedtz want Notts to be around in the future and don't want to risk that by investing poorly, and when the time is right, some of these people against the Reedtz might just realise how good we have it.

Jacob Bedeau Praises Team Effort After Notts County Secure First Clean Sheet of the Season
Firstly, winning a game 1-0 does show that Notts can manage games. The final 20 or so minutes near the end of the match might have been a lot of pressure, but I did have confidence that we could clear the ball. I would have liked to see us try to calmly get it out, instead of kicking the ball at times straight back to a Fleetwood Town player, but defensively we did deal with them. I was pleased that the players had a chance to react to the win with us fans, as it was a hard-fought game and I do hope that this signifies a start of more consistent, based performances for the whole duration of the game, but I do acknowledge there will be off days.

Who's your Man of the Match v Fleetwood?
Rod McDonald was the standout for me against Fleetwood. He gave Notts a solid shape and kept things steady at the back. His reading of the game helped hold the team together when it mattered most. Some fans have said he’s slow to release the ball, but I think that’s because he takes time to assess the situation. He doesn’t rush, and that calm approach often helps the team settle. Out of all our centre-backs, he seems to think things through the most. His presence brings a sense of control, and that’s something the squad really benefits from.

Match Discussion: EFL Trophy - Lincoln City (A)
I thought Martin Paterson’s comments after the match didn’t quite match up with what he’d said before. Credit to Nick from the media team for asking about the young players and whether that’s the kind of coach Paterson wants to be. It’s not a question that was put to Luke Williams or Stuart Maynard, but it’s good to see younger lads getting a chance. It’s not the same as a league game, though, where the senior players have earned their place in the starting eleven. I’m a bit worried about Will Jarvis. It sounds like someone stepped on his hand, and that can be really painful. I didn’t expect a win, and I thought Lincoln would find it fairly easy. From the highlights, the defending by Notts wasn’t great. Poor Harry Griffiths had no chance, and that’s not a knock on his ability. Notts did have a few chances, but the team was made up of players who needed minutes. That can mean they’re not at their best, and Paterson will hopefully know that mistakes can happen. The result doesn’t matter too much. He was right to rest players and keep them fresh for Saturday.

Elliott Whitehouse is one I can add to this; he was a decent prospect for us, but I don't think he ever reached his potential.

Martin Paterson Hails Back Line and Second-Half Response at Prenton Park
I believe that Martin Paterson isn’t being dishonest; rather, he’s navigating the common path many new managers tread in their efforts to win over supporters. There's a tendency to assume that fans crave transparency, and while he makes an effort, his words often trip over phrases like "I am honest" and "I have to think carefully here." Ultimately, his hesitation seems to stem from a desire not to alienate players or fans. There are plenty of positives to take away from the performance; it was solid and certainly satisfactory enough that fans shouldn’t linger on any specific moments of the match. Notts executed their game plan to perfection, and Paterson made pivotal decisions that shifted the momentum in their favour. Although I initially found the substitution of Barry Cotter for Kellan Gordon surprising, it ultimately proved to be a stroke of genius.

Who's your Man of the Match v Tranmere?
I cast my vote for Matt Palmer. I thought he did everything we wanted and put in a very spirited performance. From start to finish, he didn't just pass the ball or look for the easiest pass, he looked for where there was space and pushed us forward at every chance.

Notts County squad 'needs reinforcements' - Paterson
I don’t think it’s strange. He’s under pressure, and managers often say things like this when results aren’t going well. Martin Paterson probably knows how the club is handling recruitment. He might feel Notts aren’t looking for the type of player he thinks we need, and he could be hoping fans speak up more. Or maybe it’s just a way to shift focus because things haven’t gone our way. I do think we need a striker. Kelle Roos might be okay, but he’s not going to win awards or keep many clean sheets. Still, the defence has to take some of the blame too.

Weekly Chat - Monday 25th to Sunday 31st August
I don’t enjoy living in Manchester at the moment. It’s become quite rough, and the auditors and vloggers are making things worse. They keep going back to bad areas and stir things up just to get reactions and boost their views. It’s one thing to raise awareness and hope the council steps in, but when you keep poking at the same problems, it just makes it harder to live there. It’s not easy walking through the city centre without someone kicking off.

Looking Back: How Has Your Local Area Changed?
Where I grew up, it was mostly houses and not much has changed. The biggest difference is how many trees have been cut down, and how gardens have turned into slabs and concrete. People have replaced hedges with fences. The nearest corner shop was about 15 minutes away, and that’s still the case. There aren’t any local amenities nearby unless you drive out. I think I’ve seen more change in Manchester over the years than I ever did where I grew up.

Who's your Man of the Match v Bromley?
Like the majority before me, I have voted for Matthew Dennis. It's good to see some other players being voted for, as it does show a different opinion, even though Dennis is highly likely to win. I do like reading other fans thoughts on who they feel deserves it.
