  1. China’s ladies weren’t up to much, one of the poorest teams so far but a great win nonetheless. It will give our ladies the confidence to go forward.
  2. I would have also welcomed Jayden Richardson back, I think he’s a very good player and it is a very good signing for Stockport County. He should have a decent season for them, which is unfortunate to see rival teams continuing to improve. Not that I am unhappy with our squad, I just think it makes things harder.
  3. Darnell Fisher is a good player, quite skillful and would do well for us if he did sign.
  4. It’s a good deal, iFollow. Regarding the audio subscription, I don’t think the club should charge for the match coverage as it’s already part of your TV licence and rebroadcasting it shouldn’t come at a cost to the fans. There’s no reason for a fan who can get to games to subscribe to any of the services, so overseas fans do have the luxury of getting games. I am not suggesting people in the UK should, I just think the packages for UK-based fans are quite poor in comparison.
  5. I do think you want to confirm that the items have actually been dispatched, otherwise you could end up waiting longer and not even receive the shirts due to an error along the way. I hope they arrive safely tomorrow.
  6. I think it’s a bit harsh to single out just Connell Rawlinson; we attack as a team and should defend as one too. I think the way we don’t cover is the bigger issue, but it’s a friendly. I don’t want to be harsh on Aidan Stone, but the Sam Slocombe haters might admit he probably would have saved it. It’s one of those shots that creeps in; we just need to protect the goal better as a group.
  7. Yesterday, I wasn’t able to get to the Shrewsbury game. Train delays meant the timing wouldn’t work, so I had to miss it. Instead, I ended up walking around Manchester and sightseeing. Today, I have been watching the rain come and go, sitting near my favourite view of the barges floating by and listening to the radio.
  8. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Steveyward. Enjoy!
  9. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @David Shipston. Enjoy!
  10. Come next Saturday, it’s time to stand up and be accounted for. It will be a good opening game against Sutton, which I am feeling very optimistic about. It’s good to know the club is prepared, having seen how hard they have worked since last season and during the pre-season. It makes me feel all the more fired up for the season ahead. We are in a good position, and the only thing that will hold us back is if we worry about defensive relapses without working on them. I think we’ll be strong in control, so it’s just a case of creating chances and being tight at the back. I am curious if Sam Slocombe will start, as Aidan Stone did look decent, but I do think Luke Williams will choose Slocombe ahead of Stone just because of his experience.
  11. David McGoldrick has been class since he returned. He’s shown that he’s here to help the team and to work his socks off. He puts every effort he can into games, and he’s reaping the rewards now. Not just from the praise of us fans and Luke Williams, but also by finding the net. He looks like a constant threat and fits in very well with the team. Pre-season is never straightforward, nor is the league, but we all know that once the squad settles into a routine and the season begins, it’s all about form more than performances. Those will improve with every game, as Williams can tinker with tactics and give further instructions to the players. It’s that advice which is invaluable to us moving forward.
  12. Fair comments by Luke Williams. We sounded unlucky with the disallowed goals. I’m not saying it’s the wrong call; I mean that the chance was off. Hopefully, it’s a sign of quality nonetheless.
  13. Yes, it’s a good article. It says a lot about Notts and does so in a fair way. I wouldn’t worry about the meta description; that’s just to add a bit of depth and encouragement to read it. It’s mostly added by the editor as suggested.
  14. It’s a great opportunity to move to Liverpool’s academy and further learn. He will be excited about that, and the £800,000 does seem quite decent. A few years later, you would expect to see a higher fee perhaps, but just being around better players is a good thing.
  15. Count me in. It’s about time I got back into the prediction league.
  16. The interview was excellent. One day, Ian Burchnall will undoubtedly lead another team to success. Joining FGR was a bad decision at the wrong time. However, if he stays in his current role for a few more years, another team will likely show interest in him. I would rather not reflect on his time at Notts, simply because it’s irrelevant now. I do wish him well though; I just hope to never see him back at Notts.
  17. As for work and here, the close season didn’t seem long because of Wembley. It’s a good thing because it keeps that promotion feeling alive. It also helped Notts because we went straight into recruiting and so far, it’s been spot on yet again. We are making a lot more positive signings, players of quality that fit in and are of the age to improve further, plus the experience of David McGoldrick.
  18. I am happy with the signing too. I know people have their minds set on other names, but I think Ollie Tipton will be a top defender one day. I think Wolves see his potential and that’s why I am excited. He will work hard for his chance, and having a player who can fit our system and play in alternative positions gives us a lot more depth. It’s a very good loan signing.
  19. It’s a good signing. I think we have become so used to avoiding loans after all the lacklustre ones we have had in this market, so I understand that some fans might not be as excited as they would be if it was a permanent signing like Jesse Debrah. However, what I see is a talented youngster wanting to carve out the start of his football journey. While he might not be a Jack Grealish or Callum McGregor, he could very well be a top defender one day. I am excited by the signing of Ollie Tipton. I think he has a lot of potential and will be here to work hard. Luke Williams wouldn’t have it any other way!
  20. This is brilliant! I am delighted to say hello to each of you. @Paul Carr, @Jeff Johnson, @Gordon and @AJ_Pie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham!
  21. I watched the England game against Denmark too, where Lauren James scored a fantastic goal. She’s a good player and plays similarly to her brother Reece. However, I do agree that the commentary can sometimes be over the top and everything is exaggerated. A simple tackle is described as the most amazing challenge.
  22. Good luck to Jack. I wouldn’t have been against him signing with us and us loaning him out to see if we could benefit from the time he spent with Liverpool. I do think this is a sensible move.
  23. What a squad we have! It’s great to see the club releasing the team pictures.
  24. I was thoroughly impressed with his level of fitness, which was clearly evident even during the match against Forest. His quality shone through. I am convinced that David McGoldrick and Jim O’Brien will be two of the key players this season. Their experience and leadership will be invaluable to the team. The way the squad is coming together and working hard as a unit is truly remarkable. McGoldrick, in particular, is a class act. I must admit, I had my doubts, but he has proven me wrong.
  25. Notts needs to get as many fans to the Grimsby Town game as humanly possible. It’s a big return for Notts and with it being our first goal, I hope the KOP is electric. I would like nothing more than to get a good attendance and result. Their fans do my head in. They suffer from what I like to call the "big club syndrome".
