  1. This is a good football documentary; I think they could have included a bit more about the other players who had issues with looking different. I know it’s about Peter Crouch, but I feel it would have been more inspiring than a quick overturn by succeeding at Liverpool after a dry spell. His best decision was to join Stoke City; they got the most out of his career. It’s a good watch; I just have a few personal preferences, but I agree his wife supported him no end.
  2. I agree with @Fan of Big Tone, but I also believe that attacking players should be made to cut out some of their bad antics. It should be a straight run-up.
  3. I plan to join; I don’t use Instagram or Facebook. I used to have Facebook back in the day, but I found that most people would like things but pay little attention to what was said. I can be guilty of this, but Facebook is awful for it. I don’t care if 30–40 friends like or react to my post; it’s nice to communicate, and it’s very boring. Twitter is okay; I think Threads has a chance to cut out that trolling and bullying stuff off the bat.
  4. Oh, I refused to write mundane stories when I was sent out by my university. Did I get told off? No, they actually hired me after six months and allowed me to focus on writing items about health trends, interviews, and whatnot. None of the mindless things 14-22-year-olds leap up; I won’t say what type or gender, but it’s obvious.
  5. You’re all super in my eyes, but Super Ram, that is a nice gesture to look after your daughter-in-law and to make sure her hearing doesn’t get worse. I’m aware that you and Granny took her in when Chris and Cheeky were young, so she must mean a lot to you. I didn’t think my respect for you could get any higher, but I believe it has.
  6. Manchester United should clear out a lot of the players and rebuild properly. They have rushed signings, and I think for them to rival City, Liverpool, and Arsenal, they need to find players who can reconnect with their fan base. I am not suggesting all, but David De Gea is certainly one of them that needs a fresh challenge.
  7. I haven’t had time due to work; I am just writing and writing at the moment. I haven’t had much free time to myself, and I want to put work first before gaming or whatever.
  8. I like horror films, especially around Halloween. I prefer those from the 80s and 90s compared to the newer ones. The reboot films seem to miss the point of the originals, such as Halloween - Michael Myers is not as intimidating in the remakes. It’s sort of pandering to younger people, so it’s not as shocking, but it takes away the horror feel.
  9. Welcome @rohan, I hope you enjoy and join in with us on PON.
  10. It’s going to be interesting. I like when the league is competitive because it brings out the best in teams and this makes us have to work harder to succeed. I think the fact that we have the right type of players, they will respond to other clubs that are winning and want to go that extra bit further to secure a higher position. It’s going to be fun!
  11. It was great to see the youth players included. I am not sure why we have a trialist keeper. I hope he’s just warming up because, with how good Aidan Stone looked, we have more than enough cover with Tiernan Brooks and the experienced hands of Sam Slocombe. I think it would be a waste of money to bring in another keeper, which could be spent on a centre back.
  12. It's going to be good to see the players a few games into the pre-season, although the training is top-notch. I think some of the youngsters will get up to speed, so please don't think I am being harsh for the sake of it. Youth Players: Lucien Mahovo: He struggled a lot, defending at times was quite good. The issue was his shirt pulling and lack of awareness at times. He did do some nice defensive touches, passing he seemed fine. Ryley Reynolds: Looks to be a decent player, who will only get better with more experience. Notts may consider loaning him out. Brad McGregor: I would like him to be around the first team, he did some good stuff and looked comfortable going forward. Charlie Gill: He needs more time with the youth team, he did okay but made some poor decisions and gave the ball away a little too much. Luther Munakandafa: Looked eager to get forward, could do a bit more defensively, but he's a lively player that has the ability to go further. Madou Cisse: This lad looks pure class, really talented, and I agree with comments about him being of the mould of Aaron Nemane. They're very much alike and it's really uncanny. All the senior players did fine, some additionally had their wobbles, but it's nothing to be taken too constructively. The only reason why I have given my opinion on the youth players is that I hope to pass on my recommendations onto other fans and maybe any glancing eyes may find it useful too. It's not a knock on them, one game doesn't say a lot, but I am impressed. I hope Luke Williams figures a way to fit some of them into our plans this season.
  13. Carl Dickinson I know he played for Stoke City.
  14. I only loosely follow Juventus and no other teams, not because of their performance, but because I can’t invest the time.
  15. Threads could do well if they attract celebrities and social influencers. It could easily win against Elon Musk’s Twitter. It sounds interesting and refined, with a quicker UI like Twitter used to have.
  16. I think it’ll be a one-horse race in the new year, with Oldham, Rochdale, and Yeovil not forming a title race.
  17. Forest Green Rovers are more of a gimmick club than Salford City. Their decision to sack a long-term contracted manager is poor, despite my praise for appointing a female head coach. Hannah Dingley is the caretaker manager, but this may not be a long-term plan. It seems to be for press coverage and makes no sense. I don't see how Dingley will be the right person to lead them into a new season, and this could end up worse than Ian Burchnall.
  18. Welcome to the PON site, @stutheumpire1862. It's good to have you here. I hope you like your cricket as this will please Tony and Super. ????????
  19. Welcome to the PON community, @Michael D P.
  20. Luke Williams knows what works. He’s a good talker and can get the players to understand the importance of his message. I think the depth and ability to rotate will help us out no end. It’s important to be ready for anything, so at least we have covered those unknowns and can go into the season with a full squad ready to take on League Two.
  21. Good luck to Michael Doyle. He shouldn’t have followed Ian Burchnall, but it worked out for him in the end, and even better for us as we now have a great manager and assistant head coach.
  22. You can search for PON and now add it to get the news; something I have done because I did start seeing some suggestions of forum content, and I think this is a great thing for the site.
  23. It’s a great gesture by Stoke City. I think Notts should make some form of donation, but they need to cover the costs of hosting the friendly. Maybe they can put part of the gate receipts or just the money from the sales of food/drinks towards it?
  24. I have a feeling Elon Musk is trying to drive people away as a means of cost-cutting, without actually saying as much. A lot of the changes are clueless and negative for the Twitter brand. With fewer active users, there won’t be much point in people paying for Twitter Blue or advertisers paying for ads. He’s acting like a child who has bought an expensive toy and doesn’t appreciate it, rather than a CEO of several profit-making businesses. His ideas are negative for the platform, but thankfully it doesn’t bother me.
  25. It would be a no from me, simply because we need to have people committed. If he has a family business, I don’t want Notts to lose his focus or for Notts to be used as a means to network that. I’m not saying it would happen, but it is a concern. I would like people unconnected to our rivals.
