Blackburn sign striker DJ Campbell from QPR

<!--url{0}-->DJ Campbell says he has left QPR and signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Blackburn.

Campbell's future at Loftus Road has been the subject of speculation for some time after enjoying a successful spell on loan at Ipswich.

The 31-year-old scored 10 goals in a loan spell at Portman Road earlier this season and they were thought to be keen on bringing him back to the club.

Hull were then believed to be favourites to land Campbell after holding talks with the player earlier this week, but Blackburn have landed the former Blackpool star.

Rovers boss Michael Appleton wanted to bolster his attacking options with Jordan Rhodes needing some goalscoring support.

This is probably the best lineup for awhile that Blackburn has had in recent years with Leon Best, Jordan Rhodes, the aging Nuno Gomez, David Goodwillie and Colin Kazim-Richards.

Blackburn Rovers fans will be hoping that this can be the start to their season after a disappointing period and the boost of Campbell will mean they're not short of attacking options now

Paolo Di Canio aware of Swindon Town issues - chairman Patey

Swindon chairman Sir William Patey tells BBC Wiltshire that manager Paolo Di Canio is "aware" of their financial situation and knows there is no money to spend on new signings.

Patey confirmed on Thursday that Town were looking for new investors as owner Andrew Black is unwilling to put any more money in to the League One club.

Mario Balotelli: AC Milan agree deal to sign Manchester City striker

<!--url{0}--> AC Milan have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli on a four-and-a-half-year contract, the Italian club's director Umberto Gandini has confirmed.

Former Inter Milan striker Balotelli, 22, will have a medical in Milan on Wednesday before signing his contract.

An initial fee of 22m euros (£19m) is believed to have been paid, rising to 25m euros (£22m) with add-ons.

Manchester City have declined to comment on the news.

The Italy international had travelled with City to London for the Premier League game against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday evening, when manager Roberto Mancini is likely to comment on the deal.

Gandini said on Twitter: "Transfer agreement for Balotelli signed with Manchester City. Medical is tomorrow [Wednesday] in Milan, then personal terms until 2017 will be signed."

Manchester City signed Balotelli for £24m in 2010 with the striker scoring 20 Premier League goals for the club.

Balotelli's departure comes weeks after he was involved in a training ground altercation with Mancini.

That was the last in a series of controversies during his time with the Premier League champions.

Shortly after signing he made the headlines for crashing his car and in March 2011 he was said to have thrown a dart at a Manchester City youth-team player.

In July that year he angered Mancini during a pre-season friendly against Los Angeles Galaxy when he nonchalantly back-heeled wide when through on goal.

He set off a firework inside his home in October and two months later he was involved in a training ground bust-up with team-mate Micah Richards.

This season Balotelli made 20 appearances for City, 12 of those from the bench, scoring three goals.

Manchester United fans will be in unity over this! 20 Million is an insane figure for him, many people around Manchester felt this when City first paid for him but at least then he came with promising signs. One Premiership player many will no miss!!

There's players out there who can do a job in this league and even higher, I'm sure in a situation where someone could argue against this I might have many who don't agree but I feel with our wage budget being near to it's capacity. We should be looking to unearth gems and give our own players who are progressing through the ranks more chances.

I respect Yeovil a lot. Paddy Madden is a perfect example, shined in their game yesterday!

He's someone I know very little about but I often see his name being mentioned, I keep tuned on Yeovil down to a board I post on which is theirs and the fans are very welcoming. (much to be respected)

On loan he scored 9 in 15 games.

He signed for them full time on 2nd day of the transfer window and in his first game (yesterday - 12/01/13) He scored two goals against Sheff United. Promising striker at the age of 22, Yeovil really have found a young player who proves that you don't need a squad full of ex higher division players but one's from all walks of life who give 110%. Shame we couldn't of snapped him up :)

Notts are still to make a big signing that fans hoped would be on its way after the departure of Lee Hughes. Anymore rumours? Apparently Beatie is back in Scotland training now.

On the plus side, Judgey is still here!

It would be very nice to see Notts continue their very impressive away form today and I don't see any reason why they can't.Notts have shown they can come back and do well after early set backs as against the blades. They also showed how to keep a lead(which should have been greater)against Oldham.Of course the run will end sooner or later but not today I feel.1-0 to Maggies. As for the Rams I'm hoping home advantage will see us through to the next round of the cup.Looking forward to watching Oldham v Liverpool tomorrow.

I was surprised to see photos of Lee Hughes at last nights match. However a great thing to see him still supporting the club, and of course the fans will really love this. There are many of us who are sad to see him leave but it is fantastic to see that he must have enjoyed his stay at the club.....a true magpie legend!

Plus nice to see a few pics of Joe and the kids:

Hi mates,

I'm looking for the picture with the ram hitting the forest logo

I saw it in the past but i cannot find it anymore

Come on you rams, let's beat the red clowns

happy birthday unipie!  B) celebration time.

I keep reading cryptic messages on facebook and twitter about negativity towards this site, what's all that about?

Weather permitting Notts will be taking on Oldham who are struggling to get results, their performances last season in my opinion was pretty impressive and they have some key players. Jose Baxter poses a threat to us, which would one player whom I have marked but not too tightly because they have some very clever players. (The game against the dark side would suggest this)

I remain optimistic, I certainly believe we can get the better of Oldham.

Very much looking ahead of this game, it's going to make a positive change for me and I hope to see us play the game in the way we all know we can. Good following attacking football, which if done right will mean an entertaining match for both sides.

Please consider reading our Opposition View It's my personal favourite.

opinions?

not expecting the game to go ahead, so if it does will need to get tickets on the day. i think it will be a draw

need to see notts badly!

HMV and Blockbuster are going into administration.

It's sad news, although does anyone else think it's a bad thing for the wrong reasons? It seems very easy to make the decision and gain publicity from it. This gives me the feeling it's done for a short term boost to see if they can dig themselves out the mess. Comet has gone, they've ceased trading but surely there's ways they can learn to avoid the drop. I don't personally buy the online e-shopping is ruining it, who doesn't have their own online shop these days? It's just a case of making sure your in the market price wise.

If amazon can keep the costs down, surely a bigger company should be trying to make sure they can? Thank god for Mr Trew who didn't take this option when in all fairness he probably should of done.

3rd game of the season against Pompey, and easily the most important I'd say. We really need to win this one, anything less would be a bad result.

Anyone else going? Me and the other Weymouth Magpies will be there, COYP

Curle seeking home comforts

Keith-Curle-Notts-County_2866939.jpgKeith Curle was left ruing several missed chances against MK Dons after another home defeat for Notts County.

Early goals from Darren Potter and Daniel Powell set Milton Keynes on the way to victory before a second-half penalty from Jamal Campbell-Ryce gave County hope of a comeback, but the game finished 2-1.

"The players are disappointed as we have lost at home again and we don't like to lose and we need to get that resolve we have away from home," said Curle after his side's sixth league loss of the season at Meadow Lane.

"We gave ourselves a mountain to climb. They probably only had three shots in the first half and scored from two of them.

"I still thought we would get back into it as we were putting lots of balls into their box and in the second half we were creating some clear-cut opportunities that we couldn't take.

"Even at 2-1 I thought there was only one team that was going to win - and that was us. We totally dominated the second half but didn't take our opportunities."

Curle said he will look into why his team had started the game so lethargically despite meticulous preparation.

He added: "We will have a look at all the preparation and the planning that we did in the build-up to the game and analyse that as we are notoriously good starters in games. Sometimes it can be the smallest thing that is wrong."

New deal for Magpies skipper

Neal-Bishop-Notts-County_2882951.jpgNotts County captain Neal Bishop has had his contract extended by a further year.

Bishop had a clause in his existing deal triggering a 12-month extension if he started more than 20 matches for the club this season.

The 31-year-old midfielder has actually started all 24 of the Magpies' League One games this campaign.

Manager Keith Curle was happy to confirm that Bishop will now be at Meadow Lane until at least the summer of 2014.

"It's great he's going to be here for another year," Curle told the Nottingham Post. "He has led by example this season and is generally considered to be playing his best football since he's been at Notts.

"He's really enjoying the responsibility of being captain and he has a great attitude and work ethic as well. Neal is becoming the complete midfielder."

Great to see his contract being extended!

Can you tell me more about this Magazine. Somebody has told me this is the best sport magazine in the Uk.

I ask you because there will be my interview on it in the next month.

I talked about Notts County and the Italian Magpies. They've contacted me for a feature about the abroad supporters clubs of English teams.

I have to have the photos for the magazine, then it is ready and I think whey will publish it :D

It is good?

I found this online, and it just made me giggle.....for those who know 'Call Me Maybe'

Hello,

Paul Smith, Notts fan here (@psmithyjourno on Twitter).

Nice to join, which is the best part of the forum to start talking Notts?!

Notts County are lining up a move for St Johnstone striker Craig Beattie

CraigBeattiecelebHeartsvHibsMar2012_2735Sky Sports understands Notts County are lining up a move for St Johnstone striker Craig Beattie.

Notts County are in the market for striking reinforcements after allowing Lee Hughes to leave Meadow Lane for Port Vale.

Magpies boss Keith Curle has held a long-term interest in former Celtic and West Brom striker Beattie and tried to sign him in the summer.

Curle is now ready to rekindle his interest in Beattie as he looks to fill the void left by Hughes' departure.

Beattie is well down the pecking order at St Johnstone and he has only made four appearances all season so he could be tempted to move on in search of regular first-team football.

Wouldn't be a half bad signing in my opinion, Craig as some good experience. I'll wait to see there's any truth in this before commenting further but I don't agree with some comments I have noticed regarding him being a 'reject'. Many decent players find themselves being released.

How long has this forum been in existence? I have been having a nosey round (as you do) and noticed posts from 2009 , I thought it was a new site, I've obviously missed it before.
