This news seems to be coming from a reliable source, but I hope it's not true.

Oh dear, this is our worst nightmare, I hope he doesn’t go but it looks likely.

Oh dear, this looks nailed on doesn't it? It felt on the cards after LW's non-committal response to the last round of rumours. Apparently Ian Burchnall has been seen at the Lane as well.

If he does go, I hope he doesn't take our players with him. Several of them joined the club specifically because they like his methods.

Yeah, once it starts getting reported by actual journalists you know there’s something to it. The only glimmer of hope is that nothing has been signed yet maybe they won’t be able to agree terms… (He says desperately clutching at straws 😬🥺)

Not the start to the new year we want.

I'm sad.

But if he does go, and it looks likely, he will always be regarded as a Notts County great & he will always be welcome at our club.

Interesting reading some of the comments on Swans message boards.

“Suppose we better get used to watching Martinesque ball again.

Hope he doesn’t prioritise a ball playing keeper over a shot stopping keeper - (oops)

We’re letting in more goals lately so defence needs sorting - (good luck with that)

We need a new striker to play that kind of football - (5 mil and let’s talk about Macca)

We also need an attacking midfielder with vision and guile - (you can keep your eyes off Crowley)

The more I read, the more I think this could go badly wrong for him. I will wish him good luck though…. I think he will need it.

I forgot one!

‘Our side is desperately in need of some pace’ - (good luck with that high line!)

Notts will carry on with or without Luke.

I think we have a good system, and the Head Coach and players are just cogs in that system.  LW will go, probably to Swansea, but if not to one of the next opportunities, Macca will go, Crowley will go etc (eventually, one day - I'm not being a doomster about this window).  The thing is our system means we will have replacements ready to slot in with minimum disruption.  LW has earned his chance to move to a bigger club and he should absolutely take it, if it is what he wants.  We will find another, probably young up and coming manager, and the chances are they will slot in and continue to move the club forwards.

So, I'm happy for LW and positive about the future.  Remember LW wasn't perfect and there are improvements to be made.  I would be more confident in reaching the automatic slots than I was before.

No news yet and they say no news is good news.

(Straws and clutching spring to mind).

I agree with you @Ohh Tommy Johnson

We didn't know much about, Luke, Macaulay and Dan before they came to Notts, and wow have they performed for us. Life will have to go on after those three have left and anyone else who may leave, and the Club will go on from strength to strength in the future.

I hate all this drip-feed of developments. Just get it announced now, put us out our misery...

So there is a silver lining coming, which is a positive development.

There's a lot of 'It's being reported by' and 'according to ' but very little official ,in fact ,nothing official..

There is obviously been some sticking point, possibly over compensation, or the amount of back room staff he wants / is allowed to bring in. I would seriously doubt it would be terms, maybe the amount of influence he will have on team matters.

Looks like it will be morning now before we here confirmation, at least we can then forget about him and start focusing on the future again.

Yes @Fozzy

We are all waiting probably for the inevitable, but let Notts take their time. Notts must be properly compensated. If Swansea want him, there'll have to pay for him.

I know there's speculation abound but Notts and Swansea are not denying what the strong rumours are. Well know tomorrow I expect.

Let's get him moved swiftly on, pat on the back, good luck with your career, thanks for the season and a half.

Looking forward to seeing the new manager and his ideas.
