Is returning home for family reasons, he’ll be a big miss, I hope it’s only temporarily.

It makes it seem like his family may have suffered a death, I know I shouldn't jump the gun and I hope I'm wrong with my thoughts. He's a good player, but if he is gone permanently, it leaves the door open for another player.

I wish him well.

So sorry to hear that he is leaving the team to go home for family reasons.

He is a very talented footballer & he's going to be missed.

Family has to come first. I wish him well.

That's much better news, I hope he and Mrs doesn't name the baby anything after the Euros or football. 😛

I reckon they’ll call it Gareth if it’s a boy. :biggrin:

I'm glad that England have done the right thing by allowing him. I mean, I bet most players would leave either way, but some managers might be bitter about things like this. I believe if it's a boy, it will be called Paul.

So pleased that it was not what we thought it might have been.

Hope he comes back motivated to put in a great performance in his next match.

@TheSkipper

Don't think his Kid will thank him if that's the case. Once the Lad's grown up and he can watch all the antics Gazza's been up to over the years, he ain't going to be impressed with his Old Man. You Named Me After Him? Cheers Dad.

I’m not sure, but it seems like a blend of Gazza’s flashes of brilliance and his father’s talent. He could be a star in the making! The England team could use a practical joker right now, someone to lighten the mood amidst the pressure of performances and results. We just need to steer him clear of the more distressing aspects associated with Paul Gascoigne.

I'm pleased for him and his family. I hope he comes back focused and determined to help us if we get through. I'm not sure if he'll be back in time to play, but we have other players who can step in if needed.
