Dan Crowley to become the club's saviour by being a player-manager? It guarantees his name on the team sheet, and he can't do much worse.

Poor Dan. There are players that make bad moves then there are players that make very bad moves.

MK Managerless is a laughingstock of a team. Why does their owner believe throwing money at managers and players is the way to build a team? They should have stuck with Scott Lindsey a bit longer, but I did say appointing him based on the success of Crawley Town seemed weird. I wonder if they plan to make an approach to Carlisle United and hire Mark Hughes? Whoever comes in must be given the full season.

All this axing managers and signing players is causing them deep-rooted problems.

@Chris I agree & the sacking of managers at such a high rate is becoming a worrying trend in football.

I wonder if managerial contracts reflect this increasing trend with better compensation if the manager is sacked.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if agents were pushing for more lucrative contracts for their clients.

I can't believe Scott Lindsey has become a bad coach overnight. I wonder if the MK Don's dressing room is harmonious following Dan's arrival. Tune in for the latest ....

maybe he found something that worked well enough to get crawley town promotion once, but does not have the ability to do it the same? he might not be a bad coach, but he might not be good enough to sort mk dons into a team that wins games. they have good players, so it could be that he works best with less talented or ones who are more able to be encouraged his way? i dont think hes the best coach, but by far the worst. just an average league two manager imo.

Oh dear. My sympathy is limited all round. Scott Lindsay is now free to join an actual football club now, but nobody forced him to go there, did they?

Here's hoping that the franchise continue to follow the Alan Hardy route to success.

I agree with @liampie in that I think Scott Lindsey is a decent coach for a League 2 team and that’s about it. I think MK got a bit blinded by how well Crawley played against them against in the play-offs. When you look at the big picture under Lindsey, they did well but they weren’t amazing, they lost 18 matches that season and only made it into the play-offs by a point.

Again I’m amazed at how many League 2 clubs are so badly run, like devoid of basic thought and zero foresight. Why do you spend the whole window signing a load of his ex-Crawley players specifically for him and his way of playing only to then dump him? They aren’t short of money at MK now but the words chucking and drain come to mind.

Can you remember when we kept changing managers and got nowhere doing it, they're doing the same, which is so deserving

MK Dons are a joke. It's laughable that they're splashing cash like they're League Two's answer to Manchester United. Sure, they might be matching the Premier League giants in their own special brand of ineptitude, but to think of themselves as a big club? Please. They have less history than a blank page in a freshly minted notebook.

Tough question, but I think he might just still have the mindset that his move was the best decision for his family.

I may be wrong about this but I've never experienced a player wanting to move purely for family reasons. Maybe in the lower leagues but not in the PL or Championship.

The will to better yourself, increase your wages and get trophies has always been the driving force for the vast majority of players.

I always thought that Dan was above the 4th tier & when he moved from Notts he would go up the tiers rather than sideways.
