Notts were very unlucky today, hitting the woodwork twice, & had plenty of chances in the match.

Notts still have a playoff place in their hands.

Only two teams out of the top eleven won. Still more twists and turns for all those clubs during these last two matches they all have to play.

Let's hear from Stuart Maynard.

The referee was shocking....Cheltenham are masters of the dark arts  ....perhaps the referee hasn't come across them before or perhaps he had Cheltenham as his banker on his betting slip!!!!!!!!

Give me strength. I've seen that same home performance time and time and time again. Slow and flat, apart from that Didzy chance from a corner in the 1st half

1-0 up though which was needed and from then on, a promotion chasing side, a good side, a team with mentality keeps going. We have the "we're 1-0 up so it's ok if we don't score again because theres loads of time left" mentality. I've seen it so many times this season, where we're just nowhere near ruthless or urgent enough.

In all honesty I fully gave up after Colchester. To be 2 points off and put in that performance was shambolic. I was so negative heading in to the Salford game because I knew what was going to happen. A team who had nothing to play for wanted it more today. Didzy was once again our best player and the only one trying to drag us into gear. The fact we're relying on a 37 year old Didzy, says a lot.

I've been to every game in league and cup this season. All 44 league games so far, both FA Cup games, the League Cup 1st round and all 3 Trophy games. The performances have been very meh all season. The occasional good, but more mediocre and poor. That's not sustainable if you want to win promotion.

I'm not just questioning Maynard but the owners as well. They've done so many good things for us but what is actually going on? Why has Maynard not been given extra coaching staff? If you've given him a 3½ year deal at the start of his tenure, then back him. Don't be in and out. You need to ruthless and decisive.

Why not just get behind the Notts team till the end of the season? Notts still have 2 more games to go in the regular season, maybe three more if they make the playoffs.

The playoffs are still in Notts hands.

In my opinion, criticism should be left till the season is over.

The referee really did make the game much harder than it needed to be. He wasn't remotely interested in any calls or decisions for us, but I do think we need to be better, especially when it comes to finishing chances. Had Notts stuck to the first half performance, Cheltenham would never have scored.

I thought we really should have put the game to bed by the time Jatta actually scored, the assist from the Cheltenham player being something special, but we were undone by our own poor defending. I want to be fair, I don't actually think Notts played all that badly, and I most certainly feel we deserved the win. Cheltenham scoring twice, it feels like robbery, but there were a number of chances which should have been taken.

As for the penalty appeals, I thought the push on Jodi Jones in the area was very dubious and whilst it might have been somewhat soft to be given. I do think it looked like a foul, which should have resulted in a penalty.

I felt very annoyed when Jacob Bedeau made the poor decision to head the ball. It felt like a balloon deflating, and such a poor decision, by someone who could have easily coped better. Mistakes happen, but I do think recently he hasn't quite been to the level I know he can perform. He could have easily brought the ball down, but heading the ball straight to an opposition player just sums the game up for me. It's another one of those games where we have undone the hard work which was put in, but I don't get all this crazy talk about how bad Notts played just because we ended up losing a game 1-2.

Additionally, I don't think sacking Stuart Maynard makes sense, but he doesn't seem to be learning. The changes he made, I felt were, again, too late, but some of them were very valid and could have paid off. Will Jarvis and Jodi Jones should have come on sooner, Charlie Whitaker, if he had more time, I think he would have helped to salvage the game in our favour.

I think Kellan Gordon at times just needed to be a bit more direct and aware of the players around him. He disappointed me, because there's quality there, and whilst he did okay - he could have been more influential. David McGoldrick put in a classic performance, he tried to steer us and keep the team together. Jatta's celebration being something I absolutely loved seeing.

Even if we moved the very poor referee from the game, we simply let ourselves down today.

Do not use this language, especially directed towards me.

You took my reaction the wrong way. I wasn't laughing at you, but at how terrible the referee was and how frustrating Cheltenham were. You could have simply asked, which is what I would remind you to do in the future. Had your post ended with asking, I wouldn't have had a problem with it.

Missed the game as I was driving back from Manchester, but listened to the 2nd half on the radio.
All I will say is that to lose seven home games in a season where the opposing have been so poor is unforgivable and the management cannot be defended over this. Promotion has been there for the taking this season and the whole club have badly let the fans down with some huge mistakes.

Playoffs even look doubtful now as we can’t buy a win and a poor Donny Rovers side are more than likely going to win the league when they play us which in all fairness is quite laughable.

A lot of talk on X that Matt Palmer told the fans in the Kop to “F Off” during the game, did anyone see this?

I left after the players came across, as Stuart Maynard was the left to acknowledge those who remained, and I didn't see Matt Palmer reacting to any fans.

I might have missed it, but I don't believe I did and it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't happen.

@gtownjohnno I’m not sure why you acted angrily to the laughing emojis, I thought you were making a joke about the ref having them on his betting slip, so the natural reaction is to laugh.

Anyway onto the match, I thought we played well and were unlucky at times, the ref was awful but we can’t use that as an excuse, we definitely could have had a penalty when Jones went down in the box but it wasn’t to be.
