Safe Standing?

Has Meadow Lane got safe standing in place for this season? If so is anyone on here going to use it? I’d be interested to see what they thought when they’ve tried it, not that I’ll be standing my back wouldn’t hold up for ninety minutes so I’ll have a seat when I go but I’m sure a lot of youngsters will make use of it.

Good point @Fan of Big Tone as far as I remember the club promised the safe standing area would be ready at the top area of the Cop end. I'm surprised there hasn't been an update .

For myself I wouldn't wish to stand to watch a football match again even though it wouldn't be a problem for me at the moment.

Nowadays safe standing isn't any cheaper than sitting. I can imagine that fans in the safe standing area will sit down before the match & during half time as there are still seats in those standing places.

I think the safe standing bit is ready now. When my dad got our season tickets, we saw that you can pick seats in the safe standing area in the KOP.

Notts will likely share some news and show pictures of it. I saw that I could pick the standing area when choosing a seat. It didn’t really say how many spots are in that bit, but it’ll be interesting to see if it’s open for the Cardiff friendly.

Has anyone gone for their season ticket in the standing section?

i believe its done, i think its the reason as to why we have not announced any more home games other than cardiff. if you look carefully at the picture that is in the official sites fixture list, you will see the pitch seems to have been relayed. if it has not, then its amazing how well it looks to be naturally grown as a whole instead of fixing patches because usually they stand out a bit. it makes me think the safe standing is currently in the works and will be announced soon.

Thanks for the update @Ash, it'll be interesting to see it in action. It's a bit strange that it's at the back.

I much prefer to stand at football. However, it should also be a way to make tickets more affordable as it raises capacity. But if the prices and capacity remain the same, what you've basically got is a seating section you're officially allowed to stand in. I hope this will be changed in coming seasons.

I would hope that it generates more vocal support, as being at the back does have that benefit, and it's an area where most fans do stand already, so it does make more sense than some might think. There is scope that it could be expanded; we need to know more about it to speculate further on that.

We need to see what the club says; I am sure something like this will make the news when it's ready.

I’ve not heard anything about the safe standing being finished. You’d expect the club to have announced it by now, especially with a new season coming up. I’m interested to see what it looks like and whether fans take to it as much as the club seems to expect.
