Allasana Jatta Injured.

Featured Replies

Disappointing, but I thought about a positive as soon as I read it - we won't change a winning team that just won 4-1

Jatta will need games to regain sharpness and Andy Woodman teams are very adept at neutralising players like him anyway. Strange as it sounds, I think Bromley will be disappointed about this. They'll have sat in the Pavis watching Dennis, Jones, Tsaroulla, Iorpenda popping up all over and won't fancy a dose of that.

Also, Dennis has 2 in 2. Were we going to drop him? Or 'rest' him? That would've sent a bad message to the squad, 'name' over doing the business.

You make a good point @theAnticlough & I too would have been inclined to have Jatta on the bench for his first match after suspension just to keep a winning team together to start with.

Just wondering if it will affect the team & fan base Psychology, him being injured. Listening to Martin I get the impression we won't be seeing any new striker in either.

I doubt he would have started anyway as he'll be lacking sharpness. But even from the bench he's a very useful option to have.

This injury will take us almost to the closing of the transfer window, and we already know his agent isn't happy with Notts. It's not going to do anything to calm the speculation about him leaving...

Jatta being injured is definitely sounds suspicious. MP's interview suggested it to me. He said he had trained safely and that Jatta had reported the back spasm. Not something found by the medical team. Sounds like advice from his agent if you ask me. Five games without playing you would be desperate to be involved. Watch this space. It's seems transfer activity is afoot!

Exactly my thoughts

The moment I read "injured," I had a feeling of instant disbelief.

You want it to be true, but part of me, at least, seems to find a "back spasm" to be a weird thing to suddenly experience after training. Then again, if the agent is putting him up to fabricating it, why not say he feels concussed or something else head-related? With his past history, it would be more believable unless this is a situation similar to when Lee Hughes was told he was past it and that the club didn't want him any longer, so he went out and got a sick note.

After his sending-off last season, his absence in the away leg against AFC Wimbledon really impacted us. I would have thought he would be keen to play and prove himself. If his head's been turned and a club is seriously interested in him. Surely such antics would be enough to put you off?

A potentially bad agent and a player who would rather miss games than play. Solely so that he can force his way out of his current team. It wouldn't make me want to do business with him.

I seriously hope there's not more to this, but it all seems rather odd considering he missed the German Tour and was sent to play with the B team.

The BBC do know how to stir up a mystery, without really chasing proper answers. You can't rely on the media in situations like this, and you're left to decide for yourself what sounds believable. The press want clicks, the club want to avoid awkward questions, and it's the fans who are stuck not knowing what's true.

It would be better for everyone if the truth was just shared. If it's a back spasm, the timing feels odd. It’s hard not to be suspicious when something like this pops up right before a big game.

If the club knows there’s some unhappiness behind the scenes, and they’re still choosing to go with just one striker while this plays out, it doesn’t add up. It raises more questions than it answers.

Maybe it’s all part of a plan. Say he’s injured, then he suddenly recovers and Bromley don’t see it coming. Could be a bit of mind games, couldn’t it?

This sort of thing is perfect for conspiracy theories. There’s just enough mystery to keep people guessing, and no one really knows what’s going on.

That conspiracy thought has crossed my mind. Just doesn't seem in keeping with MP's "being honest" mantra.

I remember listening to Football Cliches ( I think) saying that back and groin muscle injuries are the ones that can't really be investigated (proved or disproved) and are the most common when a player doesn't want to play...

FYI via Google.

"Ultrasound & MRI scans can sometimes identify signs of a muscle spasm, although it's not always definive & clinical assessment by a doctor is the most crucial tool for diagnosis and treatment decisions"

"Ultrasound can visualise swelling & inflammatory changes, while MRI provides a more detailed view of muscle injuries. In some cases, these scans can show localized "spasm points" or subtle muscle abnormalities that may indicate a spasm".

Joe Palmer and Notts need to either step up and deliver on the season tickets bought this season or start offering refunds. At the moment I’m feeling like I’ve paid for a quality restaurant meal experience and I’m eating in the Mill Cafe.

Week on week since purchasing we’ve been shafted, Come on Joe Palmer get some communication out to the faithful, show your balls and make us believe your Championship plan is still applicable.

We went down this road with Hardy and where did it get us? Nobody needs to show their balls and nobody needs to get shafted

I’m hoping we’ve played an absolute blinder, he’ll be on the bench come Saturday and this is all just a ruse to keep Bromley in the dark. 🙏📿

I agree with @Chris you’d have thought he’d be desperate to play. If that was me I’d be necking paracetamol, rubbing deep heat in, drinking green tea, just doing all I can to be available.

The timing, considering he hasn’t played but been fit all pre-season, to suddenly get a vague injury like a back-spasm 10 days before the window closes is going to make us fans think the worst.

What if the red card last season wasn’t just a mistake? Maybe he did it on purpose, knowing things were already tense behind the scenes. It could be that he felt trapped. Notts made it clear they wanted to keep him and wouldn’t let him go while he was still under contract. That sort of pressure can build up. Then in pre-season, Jatta said again that he wanted to leave. Notts responded by leaving him out of the trip to Germany. That decision speaks volumes.

Now the ban’s over, and suddenly he’s got a “back spasm”. Whether it’s genuine or not, it adds to the confusion. Whatever’s going on, Notts should be honest with the fans. People deserve to know what’s happening, especially when it affects the team.

Why would he want to tarnish the chance we have given him? It would be a major let-down to the fans who have stood behind him.

No player is bigger than the club, and I hope Jatta isn’t playing silly games.
