Just a small update to say PON will be recognising the talent within the community by acknowledging 'community roles', which will see a badge awarded to various contributors who reach certain criteria.

Such roles as Community Expert, Analyst, Historian, YouTuber, etc.

These will be issued to active members of the community, so we encourage you to take part in order to keep the relevant badge of your chosen field. I would also encourage you to showcase your field by sharing your work within the community, but where relevant and mindful of avoiding appearing to spam.

In addition, the dashboard and community forum page have an activity streak widget to encourage and remind members to stay engaged.

I fully understand that members won't always have the time, but commitment and effort really do help the site. As a fun way to encourage this, the activity streak will keep track of your posting habit, and if you keep engaging, you will see it total up. If at some point you don't post, you can simply start again and see if you can beat your recorded highest amount.

Latest subscribers now have their ribbon back on desktops, and on mobile, it reverts to a badge due to space.

The default theme (PON V5) has been fixed; it had some JavaScript issues and misbehaved, so that has been sorted now. Along with the mood system, I am very sorry if you were one of the members who had selected a mood, only to lose it. I had to uninstall the app, and that ultimately didn't help.

the activity streak is a cool idea, i think we all sometimes undervalue the difference we make and its just a gentle reminder that one or a few posts per day can make a lot of a difference. my highest amount in a row says 18, so i am going to beat that. 😁

It certainly adds a bit of competitiveness, the trouble is I’ll lose my streak when I go on my frequent holidays. 😞

I’ve just done a quick update that the gaffer asked for yesterday. I forgot at the time, but it was important so I’ve sorted it now.

People using PON through WPA [App] or a mobile browser will now see menus that look more like an app. This should make it easier to get around the site.

@Chris and I have also been working on a theme where the menu sits on the side. It’s part of the v5 design, but we’ve changed it to suit our needs and added a smooth layout for the community index page.

We’re still working on it, but it could help some users find things more easily when they visit.

It's a very good idea @Chris & I like it. Hopefully it will encourage more involvement.

I think it's very important to acknowledge a good post when I see one, with a response, either a like or a reply.

I think we are seeing some good quality threads being posted, & they are encouraging great debate.

It's also encouraging that some of the new members are posting some great content & with their involvement the site is going from strength to strength.
