Very disappointed with the performance, but it wasn't just the performance, it was the attitude of the players as well. There just seemed to be a total lack energy at times

I just got the impression that the players were just ambling along in no more than 2nd gear all of the match.Brackley set the pace & Notts continue to struggle against teams that sit back & employ a high press.

If it wasn't for a piece of high quality from Jodi Jones with that pinpoint cross converted by Jatta early in the first half, Notts would have lost in regular time with the chances that Brackley had.

If Notts had just matched Brackley for effort, Notts would have come through at a canter tonight. But it wasn't just the players, Martin taking off our best players in the 2nd half didn't help. It just gave the impression that the cups continue not to be a priority for Notts.

All the best to Brackley who thoroughly deserved their win & I wish them luck in the 2nd round. The Notts players need to put this behind them and put things right against Man Utd under 21s on Tuesday.

Typical Notts, just when you think it's coming together. We're consistent in the cups to the point where you almost suspect it's a betting conspiracy.

The debate about recruitment will start again after the way Roos and Norburn played. In 2025 have we made one permanent signing that's strengthened our starting line-up? Just hope we can keep picking up some points between now and January and then bring in two or three who are made of the right stuff, that's a big ask though.

That performance was worse than the infamous Salford defeat.

Norburn should have been subbed ... laziness in slow motion...just didn't make space for himself to receive the ball

Missed Matty Palmer big time

Big pay days of a 3rd round tie, just a distant dream. #Unacceptable

That was absolutely embarrassing. No fight, no grit no determination. We were out fought by a team that wasn’t particularly that good but still thoroughly deserved to go through. One thing this showing highlights is how important Matt Palmer is to he way we play. We were sloppy in possession and didn’t win second balls. The fact that Ness was man of the match tells you all you need to know.

Brackley Town 2-2 Notts County (4-3 on pens): League Two...

Brackley Town became the fourth non-league side to knock EFL opposition out of the first round of the FA Cup as they twice came from behind before beating Notts County on 4-3 penalties.

Brackley boss Gavin Cowan told BBC Two:

"It's an unbelievable result. I feel totally blessed. The players were incredible, the fans have been amazing".

"The players totally deserve it, they showed hard work, desire, doing a job and a half. They took it to the next level".

"The players deserve all the credit. I want them to go and enjoy it now".

"I thought we came out a bit slow in the second half but we were happy to let them have the ball in areas".

"We wanted to make it a condensed pitch, be really patient and when it turned over the players were so brave, so courageous and played forward. It worked for us".

"We really went for it tonight. The celebrations will be reserved because we've got a game on Wednesday, but I'm just so pleased for the fans and everyone attached to the club."

Being 2-1 up with just the couple of minutes to go didn't feel like a fair reflection of the match. I thought we were really poor, we spent the last 20 minutes with a lot of the ball but we were totally incapable of killing the match off. I don’t think we even managed a shot after the penalty.

Other than making a save from JJ’s freekick and picking the ball out his net twice their keeper had nothing to do. We looked scared of them, we were pretty awful on the ball and totally deserved to lose in the end.

We got lucky with the officiating too, they had a goal ruled off for no obvious reason and it was a really soft penalty for us, it doesn’t even look like there was contact on the replay.

Just another horrific night for us in the FA Cup, can we just not enter it next season.

2 words....Matt Palmer °°°°!!!!

Key points for this defeat seem to be...

Matty Palmer rested

Norburn handles in the area to concede penalty on 90+6mins

So turns out that giving the FA Cup 95% respect is still disrespecting the competition. Just couldn't resist being cute for that 5%...and it costs us an infamous exit to a non-league team. Will they ever learn?

Really really disappointing result. Notts seemed to be very pedestrian, what happened to playing on the front foot with pace? It’s an embarrassing result against a team of part timers. Brackley thoroughly deserved their win and good luck to them in the next round.

As for Notts we need to learn from this defeat and come back stronger in the next game.

Some of the player ratings are unbelievable...Ness scoring less than Roos

On this occasion Martin Paterson gets 3/10 for his half time team talk. I expected us to come out fired up, but we didn’t. Same before extra time started. In can’t be understated just how important Matt Palmer is to this team. He is unique. How many times in the second half did Ness have the ball but no one to pass to. Norburn went missing. Matt Palmer is always just In front of the defenders waiting for the ball to get things moving. If he was rested unnecessarily, then that was one big mistake.

Norburn not showing for the ball was raised in those first few games he played. There's less excuse this time - he's had bags of time to get fit. It just seems like a tendency. If players have spent a lot of their careers playing under different styles, they don't develop the instincts that players like Palmer has - now many years playing possession football at Notts.

Unfortunately Notts looked like the non league team and Brackley the league team.

Congratulations Brackley for the positive attitude, energy, grit and determination never to give up.

I hope we as a collective can learn from a dismal display and moving forward, put on a brave face leaving this disaster in the past.

PMA is a must now, the league beckons.

During extra time Notts didn't show any inclination to win the match in extra time in my opinion. They were at a walking pace for most of the game anyway, but when it came to extra time. Notts never looked like trying to tire the Brackley side out by putting pressure on them which may have been a good idea.

The way Notts were playing was down to the Head Coach. He is pushing the style of play for each particular match. On the other hand, if it were the case that the players weren't following his instructions that would be concerning.

I’d do well to give anyone a 7 after that, maybe Ness or Bedeau but again at times even they struggled. The fact our defenders were our better players against a team struggling in the League below is pretty tragic. Even after sleeping on it I can’t get over how poor we were going forward. We didn’t manage to put them under any real sustained pressure, or cause their keeper and defence to panic like ours did.

If we’d have created a host of decent chances and missed them or forced their keeper to make a number of saves I’d have felt a lot better getting knocked out. But our super-fit side which made all the subs still couldn’t get the better of a tiring team that bought on Connor Hall who looked completely unfit and effectively made the match 10 v 11.

We can add this to the collection of "FA Cup Horror Matches", which already is pretty full...

And Paterson's decision making throughout the match was poor. When he laid out his pre match, half time , & extra time instructions, why was the side so negative going forward apart from the Jones assist for Jatta?

Walking pace football & lack of penetration isn't going to win you many matches. It also seems that Notts continue to struggle against physical sides that sit back and employ the high press, as well as them crossing the ball on sight with a Notts goalie that simply cannot cope with it.
