We will be without three key players for City clash

"Notts County will be without three key players for Coventry City clash".

So, Roy Carroll, Michael Petrasso and Mustapha Dumbuya will be on international duty. Coventry is a pretty big game, so there's a chance for some fringe players to shine here.

Personally I don't really understand why Petrasso doesn't count, however I am fine to see us play. However I would have preferred to see it called off due to the nature of the tie. Yet I do think it presents some of the fringe players the perfect chance to get into our squad, our young keeper being one who needs game time (concerned about his confidence) but he should be able to step in. Petrasso isn't a major concern for me but would have been nice to have in this game. Dumbuya will be a miss for me, he's done very well recently and I am unsure about his cover.

How do you feel about the missing players? Is it a big thing? Do you think we will cope? Is it the perfect chance for fringe players to get a chance? Let's discuss the points here.

Thompson seems capable of filling in a few roles imo. Problem for him long-term is that he will never secure his own slot. Is he a midfielder or a rb? Does.he or SD know?

Speiss deserves a shot, but will never displace Roy on merit alone.

Petrasso is a miss, but we should be able to fill the gap as we played 3 wingers last Saturday. Maybe now we'll play a more traditional formation.

His natural and favourite position I believe in the centre of the park.

I don't mind him at right back, though I don't think the position suites him. He gives 100% and covers which is more than we can ask of an inexperienced player. He doesn't seem a popular candidate though, whether or not he can help I don't know but it would be good to see him feature and gain experience.

I'd prefer to play him on the wing when we need something tricky injecting, some of his runs can be very good - even from right back.

Being openly honest, I would prefer someone else covering at right back.

Thompson is open to being attacked and I find no point playing someone who is weak in key positions where it could largly impact how the play takes place. I have no problem with him, just dont play him there.

i hate when games are called off, our fans moan when other clubs do it to us but except us to be different? i do not get it.

i think we will do ok, either way we could lose, win or draw. it is how we prepare and play, i think we will be fine.

Ignoring the playing side for a minute, but would we come to some kind of financial arrangement with Coventry? I'm sure they would want us playing it on a Saturday, due to the larger gates, however surely we'd want our strongest side out and a mid week game would be beneficial to us? I know the players could get tired playing too many Tuesday games, however Coventry would be in the same boat too?

I think Carroll is the biggest miss. Although Speiss may or may not deserve a chance, Carroll has kept us in quite a few games this season, and I just don't think Speiss will do the same.

Wanting to be proved wrong though!

He does not look the same player who was being touted for greater things.

I do believe he will excel bart for example, i see him moving to germany or close to those regions and becoming a success. Regarding the game, i would prefer it not to be called off. it seems pointless, they would never have done this years ago.

I think the point is without 3 key players, we could be pointless!Β

Speiss in for Carroll - a fortnight ago this would have given me little concern, as the defence in front were doing extremely well, of late and with the performances being poor, it screams a big Miss. Speiss is a capable keeper at this level, and as others have said,Β will probably endΒ up atΒ a higher level elsewhere, but right now unless we sort out the back four......

Thompson in for Dumbaya - This for me is a big Miss also... I don't think Thompson is a good enough replacement, Dumbaya has found himself this season... as a side note to this, perhaps Dumbaya, and or the potential return of wingers is why we might have been thinking about Potts (right back/right Midfield)...

Zeli on the right - I haven't put in for, as we played all three... but play Zeli on the right, McLaughlin on the left, and stick two up top and lets have at em... they concede more than they score, which for us right now is a bonus
