Winger signed on loan from Brighton till end of season. On the bench at Fleetwood.

Anyone know of him? Seen him play?

Could have been one of the greats but for injury. Pleasure to watch and guaranteed to excite.

The 'Derry Pele' popular player wherever he's been, looks like a great signing.

I've seen him play over here in the League Of Ireland. Incredible talent. His first game for Barnsley sums him up. Rounded 5 or 6 players and scored. Injured himself in the process. Sums up Paddy......

I was going to say he used to be very highly rated, skilful and direct. Good ability on the ball but I haven't heard much of him for the past 4-5 years, I know he had a injury where he ended up being released - that might have been early in his career. (don't take this seriously) I used to sign him because of his reputation of FM 05 and he made a decent player when I ended up in the Premiership.

Obviously he's at the tale end of his career now but he's still a good player.

Let's hope he can stand fit and lift the team. God knows we need it. Even with dropping hoof it Hollis we're still rubbish!

Posted

The only concern is what's been said about him being offensive and unable/willing to defend, our attacking isn't the problem. We need players to defend, except our striker! Especially Bajner!!

I have not heard of him to be honest but hope he proves to be a good capture.

That last one had a touch of Best about it...If we can get 70% of what he is capable of, he will be a great addition

Last season vs Middlesboro.....

Hell of a player, least he was at Barnsley !!!

I think we have lacked someone with the ability to beat a man with skill. Once you bear a man it gives you a much better chance to create an opening, and since we lost Grealish we haven't really had that touch on the ball. Could Paddy be the answer? Let's hope so!

he looks a good player and i hope he can settle, i dont think we needed another winger myself but its what we have and we must use him.

Posted

Looks like a world beater! How many of them fail at meadow lane? I see him being of some use.

Posted

I genuinely think this is a major signing for us. If he stays fit (always been his issue) then he does have a serious dose of class about him. Hayhurst needs to develop alot more and has shown he is unable to beat a man. Paddy can beat four men and still go on to cross or shoot.

Looking forward to seeing him in the b & w.

I hope he takes his boots with him on Saturday, get those crosses in.

Uproar back at Derry City here as the local paper led with "McCourt signs for Derry". lol.... till we realised it was Sean Derry. hahahaha   :)

@mightymccourt Got to love headlines like that.. LOL

Makes you wonder if they make the connection and do it on purpose. ;)

Another typical piece of Paddy magic from last season.....

Paddy McCourt and Jamal Campbell-Ryce could be a deadly duo in this league!
