By all means please do keep recommending us, suggesting the site does make it seem less daunting for newpies to join in and to take part. Our community is growing very nicely but seeing us smash the 500 mark would be a nice milestone.

Thanks @liampie

I have passed details onto family and friends, many of which read and know of PON.

I am afraid I cannot help here.

Woah guys... wait up!

I dont want to burst the bubble of recruitment energy, but it is gonna need a good shot in the arm... we got 450 members... so get out there, pound the streets... and remember ... Hussle!

Yes, this is a great forum & some fresh blood would be great.  However, be careful for what you wish for. As long as the patronising & arrogant, cyber warriors & trolls and other mischievous posters from other sites don't move here - now NCM has morphed into a weird & unattractive format!

Had a few weeks to get used to relegation and a new season looming.  Glad to see afw of you keeping the forum going. :)

Was going to give up VP membership due to being away for too many games but the Club has done a deal for me to attend 12 games - good marketing coupled with a hint of desperation, I think.  Anyway, C'mon U Piiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeees.

Just had a look at NCM to check it out thanks to your comment @Pies4u, looks like they've taken a wrecking ball to it.

I wouldn't worry too much. The other site is virtually never updated and barely modded, which just invites the troublemakers. I think when people see how much work and care goes into this site they are more inclined to treat it with respect.

It's surprising how many on here are either lurkers of elsewhere, or totally new (rather than existing). It's good when you see familiar names, such as @Dunce who I wondered where he had disappeared too (on *cough *cough) but we do have a real mix, it just takes people to stick with the community during the slow periods or the depressing times because that will keep us rolling forward.

I know I try my best to always think of ways to interact, I should try to find more time to finish off the new newsletter template and start re-sending them out.

Yet, I am sure by time the new season arrives we will be over 500 firmly.

It won't be long until PON has 1.000 and then things will just fly by.

PON is a very good site.

As a new member here and a frequenter on many other forums, NCM being one, my initial observations of here are firstly that it seems like a more chilled and friendly environment than NCM, however, I personally find it quite fragmented, there are so many areas and sub areas it becomes an arduous task just trying to read all of the latest threads.

I've had a quick scan through every where but dont have enough time to dedicate going to every individual section which would put me off coming back on a more regular basis, that and the signatures/banners, it makes every thread much longer than it needs to be with huge amounts of scrolling.

If you only have limited time @The Prophet  go to the 'view new content' link on the top right hand side of the community page to see the latest posts. You'll soon get into the swing of things and find the sections you are most interested in.

Hi @TheProphet - what @GrannyPie said. I use "View new content" every time, it's a godsend. I only go into the individual sections if I want to dig up an old thread, or if I've been away for a long time.

You could always use the mobile skin also, if you prefer less graphics and on top of this, the standard design for desktop/laptops etc can also turn graphics off such as signatures.

So if you use the 'View New Content', you will only really what you want to see.

Any questions please to PM me.

But that only shows me new threads, not current, active threads. For example, I wanted to see if there had been any replies to this thread, because it isn't a new thread it didnt show up in "View New Content" and i couldn't remember which section it was in so i eventually found it, but it took longer than it should.

I'm not trying to be negative, just constructive, this place has the basis to be very good but i think it is just trying a little too hard at the minute.

Keep us from the excesses of NCM. If the "usual suspects" ever encroach on here it would kill it stone dead tbh.

This is a far more civilised and measured place in which to exchange views.

Well it does, you will need to toggle the settings.

For updates, you can follow topics (I need to promote this a bit more) Please give this a read - Link

I encourage people to give feedback, it just takes some time for people to settle in and once you are familiar with things I am sure you will see the benefits of our structure. We have two additional ways of finding content, the 'live centre' and also the 'dashboard view'. I'm not sure I follow about trying too hard, you have to do different things to engage people and for it to attract interest.

Well, I think it depends on how people act. Some may be different in normal surroundings, I don't worry about how people will act on here. I just hope people will share their honest views and drop any malice, it would be nice to see people just talking like they would in a pub after match days.

Anything unacceptable would be dealt with properly and fairly.

I see all the existing threads @TheProphet, perhaps you have "Content I have not read" or "New since my last visit" selected on the left hand side in View New Content? I did that by accident once and I wondered where everything had disappeared to! If you only select "Past month" it should start to look familiar.

PON is just very well catered towards different people, if in doubt ask @notts-joe.

He was very friendly when I first arrived and helped me, despite finding the site easy to use. I did have a couple of questions, all of which he answered and promptly.

The mobile skin is very good @TheProphet you don't see the sinatures etc

If you give things a little time to get used to the layout you will come to appreciate how it works.

Everyone is very friendly and we respect each other's views and that will continue because the site is well moderated.

Lets all file complaint, @notts-joe out.

That's the only way to get rid of me pal! I don't resign during tough seasons, it just makes me work harder. ;)

Not resigning... shades of Blatter about that
