I'm getting increasingly concerned about our ever-growing squad, but this one sounds genuinely good ...

According to this he's a right-back.

85 career appearances at 21, not bad going! And most of those higher than League Two. Sounds a decent capture.

I take what some people think with a pinch of salt, however I have been told this lad is very raw and very inconsistent, not just by Ipswich fans but also Colchester United fans.

This doesn't mean I have judged him personally, yet it does make me wonder if he's more 'reserve team' player.

He's a right sided defender, who can play in the centre of defence but he isn't very well known for doing that. A couple of Colchester fans said he's prone to mishaps and when he tries to show skill, this leads to the problems. However, as I said I will wait to see how he does and wish for the better. I have no real opinion on him, as I have no idea who he is or what he offers.

Good luck to him I say.

A field where dreams become reality.

the team on saturday i believe will be like this : Carrol, Sharpe, Amevor, thiery, swerts/hewitt - stanley, curtis, noble - Jenner, Stead, Genero

Let's not complain about having a large squad please, it's far better than relying on loan players and just think about it, this season we will be having a reserve team and this means we need a few extra players.

Just one side to the coin really.

The point of a reserve team is to prepare players for the first team, be that fringe players or youngsters. There's no point signing players to fill up the reserve team, it doesn't matter if they finish bottom. Maybe I'm still scarred from Kiwomya's reign of terror, when we signed one player after another for the development squad, who were never seen again.

I'm just a bit concerned that we have eight players who can play up front according to the OS (albeit including Daniels and wide players such as Valencic and Genaro) but are after two more, while our obvious problems at the back are treated as a lesser priority.

This one sounds good on paper though. Let's not forget he's very young and young players make mistakes. I think that's it now for the right-back position, I reckon the plan is for Hewitt to fight it out with Atkinson for the RB spot, while Swerts and Amevor can also play there if need be. I doubt a player who was getting games in the Championship and has dropped to League Two will be content to play in the stiffs.

We certainly have the quantity, lets hope we have the quality. Welcome to Notts!

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

It's interesting that we brought in 3 dedicated full backs in the summer, yet RM hasn't played any of them or Blair Adams yet. Maybe Hewitt is lagging behind on his fitness having joined late and missed most of pre-season, but that hasn't stopped Sprockel getting games.

Sprockel could do with a rest though, defends well and reads the game well but he's physically incapable hence his hobble-like run and can't pass a ball. It's a good job we have Audel tbh
