I was just reading this story published by CNN. http://edition.cnn.com/2016/01/28/entertainment/most-popular-movie-stars-u-s-feat/

Tom Hanks has covered some interesting characters and is a well timed actor, he can really portray them honestly and in a way that makes you relate to the on scene story. I am wondering what the members of PON think since it seems a little quiet around here.

Who is your favourite actors/actresses?

Clint Eastwood. I love a good western and he made plenty.

I have a lot of time for Jennifer Lawrence. She is a fine actress and has a wide range.

Actors - Mark Wahlberg (Invincible is a great sports film I think). Russell Crowe (Robin Hood!)

Actresses - Eva Green, for being amazing in Casino Royale and other films. Amy Adams, for Night at the Museum 2 and American Hustle.

I like a good western too, specially the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, Fistfull of Dollars, For a Few Dollars more & The Good The Bad & The Ugly. Also enjoy Tom Hanks films as well, my favourites being The Green Mile. Danny Miller of Emmerdale fame, is also an excellent actor too, specially in the current storylines.

I like many actors.

Charles Bronson is a older actor I like, he sort of reminded me of my mums dad - no nonsense type of person. Jim Carrey stands out, Robin Williams also due to the stitches he made me have during his acting career. It's quite unfair to name just these three because there's many :P

Oh yes Robin Williams loved him in Mork and Mindy and Mrs Doubtfire and The Awakenings. Amazing actor.

Tough choice, but I would say Michael Caine is my favourite actor, some of his 60's/70's films are just fantastic, Zulu, Italian Job and Get Carter especially, but not forgetting the Ipcress File and obviously Escape to Victory.

Other than him, I always liked Richard Burton (just wow)films and John Wayne for a good western. I do like modern films, but no actor really grabs the screen for me compared to them.

@Fozzy Agree with Michael Caine, especially for The Ipcress File , Billion dollar brain and Funeral in Berlin. ..recalls memory of me going through the wall to East Berlin for the first time.

For actresses, Jessica Lange, Susan Sarandon, Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet, Emily Watson, Alice Kryge, Juliette Binoche, Penelope Cruz

Hmm, I like a couple of the films Will Smith is in but he's one of those actors who basically plays himself too often. Add Jim Carrey and Jack Black (although I loved him in School of Rock) to that list.

It's a hard question actually, I can name more actors I find annoying than I actually like (good idea for a thread that). Am I allowed to say Kate Winslet? Phwoooaa .. I mean, very talented actress. Peter Capaldi is excellent in Doctor Who, and Christopher Eccleston is excellent in everything except Doctor Who.

Yes, Michael Caine for me too and John Wayne. The old Sherlock Holmes films are also a favourite.I'd add Charles Laughton,Alastair Sim and Alec Guiness but most on here will be too young to remember them.
