Free Transfers: Any players worth a look?

I'm not really aware of who might be available but chatting to @ARLukomski, he's thrown some very interesting names.

This got me thinking, can the community name any players we could be looking at? I've seen some tweets mention we should try to get Lee Hughes which made me chuckle (as it reminded me of Paul Scholes coming back for United) and, I'm not suggesting the tweets are serious at all.

Do you know of any players we could get in who are unattached? Discuss...

Ishmael Miller?

:lol::lol::lol:

I'd take him, League Two could see him re-gain some of his earlier form and he's only 30 I believe.

I'm not sure what type of a player he is now, yet Forest screwed him over but he did alright with them. Strong, physical and he used to be quick.

What a state to be in ! Everyone knew we hadn’t got enough fire power (we were all saying it) and now we’re scratching around for a panic solution. I know Kevin won’t be panicking, but by Christ he ought to be. Yes, he will say look how far we’ve come in a year, but with some common sense in January, come May,Β heΒ could have been saying what a brilliant 18 months and here’s to next season in league 1.

But this is Notts....... what do we expect ! Β I Hope no one is pinning there hopes on the playoffs it would meand scoring goals to get through to the final......

I won’t take you long to understand -Β I am bitterly disappointed.

I wasn't sure Shola Ameobi would be a worthwhile signing back in the day, his goal tally wasn't impressive and his appearance prior seemed to be pretty small. Yet he's proved himself and, I believe there's someone out there who could add fire power to the squad.

If Notts want to gain promotion they need to figure out this problem.

There's options and some good names mentioned, players who would cut it at League Two. If the striker could assist and help create chances, he wouldn't need to be prolific himself.

At this stage we could just gamble on bringing in someone who has played at a higher level, that has enjoyed promotions or a certain level of success [making playoffs, playing in a weaker team] but ultimately isn't injury prone.

Isn't Leon Best a bit of a sick note player?

Carlton Cole, Dexter Blackstock, Will Hoskins, Calvin Zola, Jermaine Easter (didn't know he was still about), Nile Ranger.. These are the realistic names I found, some of them could be good and some of them sound awful..
