Second pre-season friendly for Notts what does everybody think? Last season Basford make Notts work for it in the first half but clicked in the second. It should be another good run out for the players.

Better run out than Rolls Royce and should be a better test. Hope we start what we consider to be the first team.

Basford United are a good lower league club on their way up, the ground is literally a short walk from my house and I am eager to see the new squad play. I think they'll test Notts much more, so I would hope to see Pindroch start as we can see how he does. The result and amount of goals really doesn't matter here, I just want to see the players enjoy their football and express themselves well.

I'll give my opinion on what I see during and after. COYP!

i am just about to set off for the game, im meeting up two other fans from clifton and i am excited about seeing the game.

Basford will have a lot more quality but the two teams are still leagues a part, I would echo the comments about just enjoying and expressing themselves.

Good game for both teams.

Credit to the majority of Basford United players who focused on the football (rather than diving, arguing, rough challenges etc). One of their lot proper overreacted to a Dan Jones challenge which was 50/50, yet Vaughan had three hefty challenges on him and acted like he was a model professional - I suppose it says a lot about the standards of the two teams but I do feel Basford played well.

Second half the Notts squad seemed too defensive and lacked communication.

Trialist keeper did well, I heard a fan ask him if he was from Luton I think - he replied yes. It was certainly a "L" team and the fan who asked mentioned that the keepers good. Entertaining game!

good game but i did not think much of basford. they was quick to complain but dished out far worse, i also noticed how their fans was getting abusive when decisions did not go there way. the penalty appeal and back pass for example.

david vaughan looks class, as does the new winger.

felt the second half squad was very poor tbh, lacked communication and grit. the asian lad played brilliantly, does anyone know his name?

3-1 I think @hissingdwarf

Some say it was 4-1 and I may have missed that goal but Notts didn't score in the second half. Basford unimpressed me, they used the same outlet all the time and looked quite poor.

Better test than Rolls Roce, Basford played some good football at times but Notts used the game to test all the players including some youth team players which was good to see.

Notts announced it was 3-1.

Good game, Stead looked back to his best and the first half team did very well.

It was a good game, Basford played quite well and worked hard to score. They should have had two themselves in the first half!
