Second clean sheet of the season

Featured Replies

So away at Northampton on Saturday Ross kept his second clean sheet of the season not only that but was named as the P.O.N man of the match. So could this be the turning point not only for County but for Ross ? Last season Ross played a handful of games and did enough to impress the fans and the gaffer it was only his kicking out incident that earned him a 3 match ban and dropped down the pecking order. But could Saturday now be the turning point from what fans that went or watched said he made a string of saves and kept County in the match. So I’m hoping that the faith that Kevin shown in keeping him is reward all be it he isn’t there to see it but thats not the point. Ross’s confidence can only grow now and I hope I was wrong about him when I said he wasn’t number one material the only way is up now.

What do you think guys and girls

I'm pleased fort Ross Fitzsimons.

I would hope he can improve draw this as a base for further improvements but I don't actually feel he's done himself any favours. He's reminded people he can do better, so there's more pressure but I think we have to encourage and support him a little. If he continues to improve I think most fans will be glad.

There's always pressure for any goalkeeper, so Fitzsimons just needs to focus and think careful but quickly.

I'm hoping he's okay from here, I still have concerns. I think for us to declare we have the Fitzsimons back from last year, we'll need to see more improvements over a period of 5-7 games. Credit goes to the defence for me, Jamie Turley looks a brute force player in the CB role.

It's a base.

I know it won't be long before those fans come out saying it was the defence or that he was always good enough, but let's face the poor start wasn't only the Notts results but also Ross Fitzsimons. There's no coincidence that both improving makes a difference but I am pleased. I hope he settles and grows, he needs the experience.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

To grow you need to work hard, accept criticism and work harder at overturning it.

This could be the start for Fitzsimons, I would hope he continues because Notts won't get a keeper in so the club would be stuck until January. Come on Fitzsimons, lift your game and earn more praise from us fans.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Well one swallow doesn’t make a summer but every right thinking Notts fan will be praying that the clean sheet is the turning point for Ross, hopefully it will give him confidence and he can move forward from here.

Second clean sheet, he played v Colchester

He finally didnt let any goals in, which is good for him and the club in general. I hope he carrys it on and stops letting silly goals in all the time.

That one match and clean really should help his confidence

Exactly.

I just hope he will grow and react how we would like to see, my biggest far is that he will do well enough to get passed the loan window and then fall short again. I really hope this doesn't happen, nobody wants to get onto him but sometimes his lack of effort and skill is annoying.
