Notts County Vs Wolves

Some fans might believe this is dooms day, as Notts are expected to lose. I personally see it as a good chance to try some players who miss out, we need to find a balance between 'reliable' and 'consistent' - of course this means some players will have off days but I firmly believe the majority of our fans accept this.

Wolves are likely to win! however, you never say never! This type of thing should inspire and push our players, the desire to do well and cause an upset.

Supposedly someone from Wolves told PoN that they're taking 3k, I'm surprised.

Good for the club if true!

3-1 Wolves is my prediction.

You would think that Wolves will absolutely trounce us but as you say Joe you never know, football is a strange game and very often the no hopers come out on top. I feel it is very unlikely but we shall see,

My prediction (for what it is worth) Notts 1 Wolves 4 (sorry)

We're struggling to name a side with all the players we'll have unavailable.

My heart says we'll put ina  really gritty, determined performance and nick a 1-1 draw. Head says pick a number above 3-0 Wolves. Probably going to be one of those really embarrassing occasions where the away support outnumbers the home support. I'd be amazed if Wolves didn't sell out the Sirrel Stand

Derry is almost guranteed to play 1 up front

A leaky defence, being an understatement, and a very strong Woles side = 1 striker. I hope that striker is not Arquin.

I don't want to see Fotheringham anywhere near our starting 11 again, but I gather we will probably see him playing 'football' again on Saturday.

Unfortunately I am working, but I reckon 3-1 Wolves with a better performance.

I cannot really see a result for us. They have a few out too, but anywhere between 3 and 5 for wolves and hopefully we can grab one to give the faithful something to good to shout about.

I hope Rams loanee Freeman comes out on top over the other Rams loanee(wolves) Michael Jacobs.I'm sorry but I can't see anything other than another miserable day for Notts fans.I hope I'm proved wrong and that ,at last, Notts produce a winning performance.

I felt very proud today, first time in awhile.

Notts have been flat and very disappointing, Derry's comments seemed to help and the players did well to show appreciation to the fans. We lacked the final edge but played very well, I didn't think Wolves played all that well. Well Done Notts!

I thought it was a great match played in a great atmosphere, we were desperately unlucky to come away with nothing. The players gave their all and as fans that's all we ask.

It was good to see us defending further up the field and on the whole the backwards/sideways passing seems to have gone too.

Derry and Abbot were very vocal on the sidelines, Abbot was clearly giving instructions to the players and talking to Derry, something I never saw from Mick Jones.

I also thought the kop were excellent in there vocal support and even the DP stand joined in the clapping to Shaun Derry's black and white army.

Well done one and all, the big thing for the players now is to replicate that performance against Shrewsbury and all matches until the end of the season, if they can do that we will be safe, we shall see.

Was the fact you thought Wolves didn't play well down to Notts playing much better?

Good performance yesterday and glad to see the team giving 100%. Would have been great if we could have held on for a point but play like that every week and the wins will come. Thought Derry and Jackett were going to come to blows at one point but i like that in a manager showing passion. Not very often you see a team get clapped off the field when they lose so that speaks volumes of today's performance. I still feel we need a couple of additions to the squad especially in midfield as Labadie was still a weak link for me.

Woke up this morning feeling great, oh it is wonderful to get things so wrong. How on earth did I plump for an absolute battering? I must have realised that SD would have them up and firing for this one.

Well done to SD, backroom staff and players!!!!!!

Of course.

I watched the highlights on sky sports news after the game, they shown the majority of chances Wolves had but it made it seem very one sided. When we attacked, we went with urgency and direction. I felt players like Labadie really did well, he surged forward with the ball and perhaps should have shot a couple of times but he noticeably passed. He put a wonderful ball into their box, which a wolves player had to slide tackle/clear and if he hadn't have been able to do that, the ball would have fallen very nicely for our young Murray.

JCR played like he wanted to prove a point, he ran with the ball and passed when he should. He intercepted the ball when pressuring them, he really seemed quality and the player who I highly rate.

Even Fotheringham ran and picked up weak passes, he did some nice passes and calmed down our defense (which I don't think his haters often notice).

Their goal was a weak moment for our defense but I was happy, Notts did very well. Hopefully the support shown by the fans can be replicated and praised because I didn't hear one chant that was unacceptable.

This was a great performance but I am wary of being too optimistic and I think we should not get carried away, we have been here before, we had a great performance against Liverpool which was going to be the turning point of our season. The players can lift themselves for the big match occasion, I hope and pray that they can keep the performance level up consistently, even when they are playing against a smaller team in front of a few thousand fans, if they can then we can get out of trouble.

Don't forget we aim to provide the community and readers to a regular source of information, sadly from time to time our writers (including myself) get busy but we try our utmost to provide quality. I am slowly getting back on track, now that time permits me. Please don't forgot to visit our home page - Here

Also, @Joe Jones wrote up the match report for yesterdays game - Here

I'm guilty of sticking mainly to the forum but will try harder.

Was dreading the wolves game but Notts put in a great performance. Deserved to get something out of the game for effort alone. JCR gave a performance that we know he is capable of. Just makes you feel proud when fans and team come together lets hope Shaun can keep them giving us that level of performance. We are not the Millionaires of wolves but we can replace their quality with hard work and being a solid team. :)
