Ratings vs Barrow

McDonnell 6 - Collected crosses when he needed too. Didn't really have much to do from the 65th minute onwards. Was on the end of bad tackle by Quigley resulting in his red card

Brindley 8 - Forced Barrow back to goal and got in the face of Dan Jones and Patrick Brough. Never gave them room to breathe

Rawlinson 7 - Commanding. Couple of wayward passes due to the wind but overall solid as per usual. Dior Angus was in his pocket all game

Lacey 8 - Wall. Just a wall

McCrory 7 - Couple of times where he left too much space for his man and have away the penalty. Did fine 2nd half

Bagan 9 - Forced Barrow back well and constantly put Josh Kay under a lot of pressure, everytime he received the ball. Don't think anyone got past him all afternoon

Crawford 9 - Pressured brilliantly. Snuck in from the corner to get the 1st. Passing was class. Unplayable at times

Doyle 8 - Few wayward wind affected passes 1st half. Won the second ball on many occasions. Pure sh*thousery as well. Love it. Made the refs mind up for the red card too

O'Brien 7 - Won the second ball many times like Doyle. More expressive 2nd half and got on the ball more

Thomas 6 - Not much service first half but chased down the Barrow defence well before being subbed

Wilson 6 - Like Thomas, chased the Barrow centre halfs well in the 2nd before being subbed

Wootton 7 - Won us free kicks. Linked up the play nicely

Roberts 8 - He wears a magic hat. Give him the ball let him work his bag of tricks. Sent two or three Barrow players for a hotdog for the 2nd goal

Long 6 - Only came on to shore it up but we'll give him a rating anyway cos why not

Crawford was your best player by a long way - he tends to have good games and score against Barrow.

I think you've been generous with Rawlinson though - and McCrory should have seen red for the penalty, yet didn't even get booked for that or kicking the ball away.

Our local presser who filled in said it wasn't even a foul, with the usual commentator saying it was harsh but probably a foul.

If Mark Stallard was there, we would know because he calls it down the middle. I didn't go but will watch out for the highlights.

Pinch of salt....

It sounded like a foul but there's no way of knowing without having seen it, I heard the comments and one came across a little biased if I am perfectly honest. The other didn't seem to want to admit it was a foul - was it a card? Who knows. 🤷‍♂️

Ardley 10 .........

i think he did right to put all the big hitters on the bench, it gave us strength and helped to turn things. wished he would get kean to sit on the bench as it seemed barrow wanted to injure mcdonnell. :(

I wasn't at the game but always enjoy reading the ratings, if you attended give it ago. It's your opinion and members of PON will appreciate that.

McDonnell 5 - Poor distribution, he looked very awkward and could have been caught out. Average performance.

Brindley 7 - One of his best performances going forward and defending.

Rawlinson 8 - Solid defending and organised others well.

Lacey 8 - Great to have him back!

McCrory 6 - A bit awkward at times to be honest.

Bagan 7 - He looked good, would have loved to see him take Barrow on a bit more whilst being aware of his options.

Crawford 9 - MOTM performance, he defended and got stuck in from the word go.

Doyle 7 - Good block by him in the first half, he pushed and fought for everything.

O'Brien 7 - Standard Jimmy performance, nothing special but what was needed from him.

Thomas 5 - Tried but had limited service, he just chased and worked hard but nothing special

Wilson 6 - The better of the two starters, he just needed to stay goal side a bit more for my liking.

Wootton 8 - He instantly impacted the game when he came on, he did very well.

Roberts 8 - He looked good up top and looked fired up.
