The PON prediction league 2020/21 - interest list and suggestions

It's nearly six months on from the cancellation of last season and it feels like the world is falling apart. But we do at least have the PON prediction league to keep ourselves busy until the other horsemen of the apocalypse turn up.

For the uninitiated, I post a number of fixtures before every matchday, and participants post their predicted scores. They are then awarded 3 points for a correct scoreline or 1 point for a correct result. In addition, each player can name one joker for each round, in which the points will count double. It's just a bit of fun and EVERYONE can take part! It's not a closed group, so feel free to join in. At the end of the season, the glorious winner gets to write their name in history in the fabled PON prediction league roll of honour, and can win pride, honour and a lock of my hair (optional).

As things are a bit different this time, I'm open to your suggestions. The Football League season starts a week on Saturday (12 September), a month before the Vanarama League kicks off. This gives us the following options:

a) Do eight fixtures per matchday from the Championship, League One and League Two starting from 12 September, incorporating the Conference when that starts on 3 October.
b) Revert to the old format - do six fixtures per matchday from the Championship, League One and League Two and leave out the Conference entirely.

Thoughts?

If you are interested in taking part in the prediction league, simply answer this thread and I'll give you a mention (and a notification) when I put the first fixtures up.

I think it would be interesting to see what happens with option 'A', that would be my vote.

I'm also very much down with the Prediction League, I'm hoping to do much better this time round - it's been a few years since I last won it. I don't want to be a one hit wonder. ????

A field where dreams become reality.

I'll mention this tomorrow, however, I have sent the link on to last years players [at least those I know personally].

Thanks for doing this @DangerousSausage.

It looks like option A is the clear winner, so I'll stick with the eight-game format from last season. Just to make sure we're not getting our wires crossed - I meant eight games in total per matchday, not for each division! I find playing with numbers quite therapeutic, but adding up 32 predictions per entrant would be a bit extreme even for me! ????

Thanks for the interest in this! It would be good to see some new faces too though. Go on, I know you're lurking!
