  2. To be honest @Joshua, Grant needed to lift his shot over the keeper and if he'd put too much power on it it would have been crossbar bound. It was just a very good clearance. But i agree that Wimbledon looked beatable. I wouldn't count us out yet.

  3. I think it was a yellow, the shirt was being pulled off his back and was getting pulled further and further away from the ball, so the game should have been stopped there. In first look it does look a bit over enthusiastic, he does will the ball pretty clearly though. If you look at some of the slow motion replays, he starts off 2 footed but before he reaches the players, his left foot, touches the pitch, studs down, ok it may have bounced back up again but the contact with the floor would have taken the sting out the left foot. The right foot won't the ball, so for me the tackle was a yellow. What happened after, maybe a red as you can't push people upright or laying down, but if it was a yellow, none of that wouls have happened. There also seemed to be a lot of Wimbledon players getting involved around the ref, holding other county players and obviously play acting, maybe there should have been some more yellow cards.

  11. The tackle was a straight red, no question. @Chris has posted a number of pictures showing both of his boots off the ground, out of control and studs facing the Wimbledon player. That's a red. Yes, the other player made a meal of it and yes, the referee should have blown for a foul beforehand. But he didn't. The penalty shouts were tenuous too. You're clutching at straws people. What made me angry was Platt being held for the goal. It should have been disallowed. If that had been at the other end, the Wimbledon players would have been in the referee's ear, but we just got on with it. That's admirable, but it puts us at a disadvantage when the opposition tries every trick in the book.

  17. Notts had plenty of chances to change the outcome well before Jatta was sent off. Conor Grant should have put more power on his chip, that was a huge miss for us and a sign of how unfortunate we would be. I don’t think Wimbledon looked all that strong in their win. They have a good keeper and height in their defence, but I wouldn’t rule Notts out doing better away from home. Still, the loss was disappointing. I don’t fault the effort from any player. I just wish some of those close calls had been finished more clinically. Jodi Jones gave me hope when he smashed the post, and Goodman celebrated as if he had saved it.

  18. Well, I don't think we can consider "what if" scenarios, as we already know what happened, and the outcome was far from good. It was a horrific decision to dive into a challenge with both feet, and it’s clear they were up. I don’t see how anyone can defend that. Jatta should have left the field immediately. I don’t care if the Wimbledon players provoked him or if he was lashing out. He needed to walk away, act professionally, and accept the decision. If a Notts fan thinks this was acceptable, I would hope they don’t show double standards when reacting to some of the tackles Jodi Jones has endured.

  20. I still believe if the ref had given a free kick for the shirt pulling on Jatta just before his lunge then everything else wouldn’t have happened, he was clearly frustrated and there’s no excuse but if the ref had done his job we’d still have Jatta for the second leg

  21. God forbid the challenge had made contact, as it could have caused a serious injury. The timing was completely off, and the decision to lunge seemed to have been made before any thought was given to whether it was safe or whether Jatta had control over the impact his challenge might have had. Wimbledon clattered into some of our players, but this was the worst challenge. Fortunately, the Wimbledon player had enough time to leap over it. It could have been much worse, but it was reckless and awful.

  23. Good morning, happy Tuesday, though not so happy for me, I’ve got a dentist appointment at 11am for a check up, I’ve got a broken tooth on the top but I’m going to tell the de gist to leave it as it’s causing me no problems at present I don’t want to lose it as I’ve already got several missing on the top and it would mean forking out for a new partial denture. Have a good day everyone.
