  1. Facing a team like Wimbledon, especially after their recent defensive successes, is no small task. Maynard’s focus on the team's preparation, both offensively and defensively, shows a well-rounded approach to the upcoming game. It's clear he respects Wimbledon's abilities but is also confident in our squad's potential to breach their defenses. Let's hope the lads can translate this confidence into a strong performance on the pitch.
  2. Hearing Scott Robertson talk about his time at Notts County so far truly gives insight into the life of a footballer dealing with professional upheavals. His positive take on the numerous managerial changes and how it served as a learning curve rather than a disruption is refreshing. It's impressive how he stresses the importance of stability in gameplay and approach within the team, despite the external changes, reflecting his understanding of team dynamics and the need for a solid foundation for success.
  3. Wouldn’t it be great if Notts were the ones to score points against Wrexham? They’re tough opponents on their home ground, but hopefully, we can put up a good match and handle their long balls that skip the midfield. We now have more robust choices in defence, which is positive. It’s set to be a thrilling match!
  4. Looks like Maynard's all about fostering a team spirit and a fighting mentality. Reckon that's exactly what'll keep us pushing for promotion.
  5. It’s a positive injury update, and hopefully, we won’t have any more serious setbacks. The return of players can provide a boost, although they might need some time to adjust to match days, like Adam Chicksen and Will Randall. They should add some strength to the team. So far, Randall’s performance has been a bit disappointing, so I hope he steps up under Maynard’s guidance.
  6. Stuart Maynard seems to have a good understanding of our squad, and it appears we’ve chosen the right person to take over. I don’t anticipate major tactical changes, but strengthening the defence is one area where most fans would like to see improvements.
  7. I’ve not come across him before. If he’s back in League Two, it might not speak volumes about his skill, unless he chose it based on his location. Settling in Scotland could be challenging, and moving closer to home makes sense. However, if he didn’t meet their standards, that’s a different matter.
  8. I don’t anticipate many more signings. For those hoping for another central midfielder and striker, it’s unlikely to happen. We might bring in another defender, but I suspect our transfer dealings will conclude here.
  9. James Sanderson is a promising young player. He has the opportunity to be one of the first youngsters in years to break into our team and become a regular, provided he continues to work hard.
  10. For a structure made from Lego, it doesn’t get much closer to the real thing than this. It’s quite impressive and looks fantastic! If they were to sell this Lego set, it would likely cost a pretty penny, if not more.
  11. Nice changes, the forum index looks tidy and clearly marked. No forums or sub-forums conflict with each other, it seems very logical.
  12. The anticipation for Saturday is unreal! The impact of Maynard's appointment needs to be immediate as per expectations, but I also hope there's patience. It's not merely about one or two good results but building consistency. Let's give the gaffer the support he needs, and hopefully, we can reflect on this moment as the beginning of a golden era for our beloved Notts.
  13. The outcome was quite satisfying. I didn’t anticipate us to breeze past Doncaster, and it was remarkable to see the team gel so well after recent results. It’s a significant victory for the squad. We need to replicate this kind of performance on away grounds.
  14. Hello! Good to have you here, welcome to PON and the community.
  15. Hello, @StanfordPie. Welcome to PON. Plenty of decent Notts fans here always keen to welcome new faces.
  16. Much of the viral content on social media annoys me, especially when there are stricter regulations about public photography and recording. We can attribute some of this to those YouTubers who are always filming people.
  17. I’m struggling to see how this is an improvement on Steve Cooper. Cooper has brought stability to a team that was far from Premier League standard, yet he managed to promote them. He’s also managed to keep them in the Premier League against the odds. Now they’ve taken a gamble on someone who, at best, is average.
  18. The figure of 85% will undoubtedly appeal to the EFL board. The remaining 15% being attributed to human error seems reasonable, as everyone is prone to making mistakes.
  19. It’s intriguing to see the names of some players being discussed. I’m hopeful that we can secure a substitute for Matty Palmer, who is sorely missed, as well as another centre back. My preference would be for a centre back who combines speed with the experience to read the game effectively.
  20. Dan Crowley is often mentioned because of his significant involvement. Without him, we still have a strong squad, but the contributions are more team-based. Sam Austin can be excellent, but not always. Jodi Jones performs well in most games, but some teams make it difficult by assigning 2 to 3 players to mark him. Teams seem to struggle to mark Crowley, but just because he’s frequently mentioned doesn’t mean the other players aren’t performing well. They also contribute to Crowley’s consistency.
  21. Typically, Walsall tends to perform well or better than us. They often have skilled players, which makes the game both frustrating and entertaining. Since we’ve been in the National League, I haven’t followed them closely and don’t recognise any players. However, their league position won’t matter until after our match. Hopefully, Dan Crowley and Jodi Jones will be ready for their visit. Let’s see how it goes!
  22. Jim O’Brien has had a few near misses this season, so when he finally scored, I was thrilled. He’s a player you can easily relate to.
  23. It’s uplifting to hear about people escaping from North Korea. I wouldn’t want to live in North Korea, Russia, or China. If I suddenly vanish, one of them is responsible.
  24. I don’t mind who owns Meadow Lane, as long as it’s our home ground. I trust the club to make the best decision. The current lease gives us some security.
