  1. Notts have been exceptional at home, and I have faith that they will continue their winning streak. The combination of Crowley’s creativity and Jodi’s finishing has been remarkable to watch. It’s a shame about the injuries, but the return of McDonald provides a boost. Gillingham could pose a threat with their compact defence and counter-attacks, but I think we’ve got the quality to handle them. It’ll be interesting to see how the midfield battle pans out, particularly with Crowley and Little going head-to-head. I predict a tight match but believe we’ll edge it.
  2. Stuart Maynard has really turned things around for Notts County. The pre-season seems to have been a game-changer, allowing the squad to gel and refine their approach. I’m particularly pleased with the emphasis on defensive solidity, players like Jacob Bedeau and Louis Macari have been outstanding, and it’s great to see the whole team buying into the defensive responsibilities.
  3. Happy belated birthday, @CliftonMagpie. I apologise for missing this too; I must have overlooked it.
  4. I have heard from the Ireland camp that he was a good upcoming player when he played for Spurs. I didn’t know he had left or joined AZ. His goals will alert clubs to scout him, and it seems he went for a modest fee in today’s money.
  5. Good suggestion, @Piethagoram. I hope the lad takes the opportunity with both feet.
  6. I’m pleased for both players to see them named in a squad of all EFL club players. Some fans might be nervous about it, but players of their talent will always be on teams’ radars.
  7. It’s clear from this interview that Gillingham’s fans are very pleased with their team’s performance this season. They respect how well the team has handled injuries and remained competitive. For us at Notts, facing such a resilient squad won’t be easy. Our key to success will be maintaining high pressure and using quick transitions to stretch their defence. Players like Crowley and Jones have been vital in recent matches, and their creativity will be crucial in breaking down Gillingham’s back line. It’s a big test, but one we’re certainly capable of passing.
  8. It was a tough start, and being 2-0 down looked grim. But Jodi Jones’ return made a massive difference. Winning and scoring the penalty gave us hope. Crowley and Jatta’s goals were class, and their partnership could be key for us this season. Alex Bass needs a special mention; his saves were vital in keeping Bromley at bay. The final goal by Jones was absolute quality. This match demonstrates our attacking prowess and the fighting spirit within the team. With Jones, Crowley, and Jatta back, we definitely have a shot at promotion.
  9. Jodi’s focus on scoring more goals can only be positive news for us. He’s already a fantastic player with his assists, and adding more goals will only increase his value. His adaptability during past seasons is impressive, and having him on the right wing again could indeed unlock another level of performance. The new quality added to the squad sets us up for a strong season, and if we can maintain consistency, promotion is certainly within reach. Jodi’s attitude and professional approach, even during contract negotiations, speak volumes.
  10. It’s a very good read, with excellent pictures of Meadow Lane. The recent match was brilliant! Seeing David McGoldrick score was a highlight, especially since he came through our youth system. It’s moments like these that remind you why you support this club. The crowd was electric, and the camaraderie among fans just made it all the more enjoyable. I can’t wait for the next game!
  11. I lost interest. I am of the mindset that Manchester City will be fined a certain amount of money and maybe a transfer embargo, but not before they can further strengthen, and then nothing else.
  12. The attendances are such a good thing to see. It’s revenue for the club, and the way that Notts operates now, every penny is going to fund all these amazing changes we have seen. I want to see them continue to sustain and hope at times we do see further improvements.
  13. There are doubters and then there are negative nellies. I think he will continue to win fans over if the results keep coming. You can see how organised he has got the squad. There are signs that the football is becoming second nature and fluid. Notts looks much better on the ball and far superior without it. I just don’t think Notts can ever please some of those extremely anti-commenters.
  14. I'm delighted that Jodi Jones has signed a new contract with Notts. His performances last season were exceptional, and he truly deserved the Player of the Year award. His adaptability, moving from the left to the right wing, showcased his flexibility and skill. It's reassuring to hear he's focusing on adding more goals to his game, which will undoubtedly strengthen our attack. The faith shown in him by the club is well justified, and I have no doubt he will repay it with superb performances. His commitment until 2027 is a huge boost, and I’m confident he'll be at the heart of our future successes.
  15. welcome to this very good site and community for Notts fans, @Alan Carnell. Welcome to PON.
  16. welcome to this very good site and community for Notts fans, @Emma Duffield. Welcome to PON.
  17. I am very saddened to read this thread. It’s sad to think that one day someone here might no longer be around. I might not be the most active or conversational, but I enjoy reading people’s comments. Please tell @AmericanPie I am thinking of him.
  18. All we need now is for Dan Crowley to sign on the dotted line. Jodi Jones is a class player, and his extension will be big news on and off the pitch. The way things are going, I wouldn’t be surprised if Crowley joins Jones. I always felt like he would remain a Notts player.
  19. Watching George Abbott’s first start for Notts was a treat. His reflections on the support and trust from his teammates indicate a cohesive unit, something crucial for any player’s success. The enthusiasm he displayed with tackles and ball distribution was impressive, and it’s refreshing to see a young player so dedicated to his craft. The fact that he had over 10,000 fans cheering him on must have been an incredible experience. Abbott’s debut might just be the beginning, but it’s a highly positive sign for both him and the club.
  20. The club might be talking to the players about contract extensions. Good players will always be wanted by other clubs, so it's good that Notts County fought off bids. Even if Notts accepted a bid, there's no guarantee that either the player or the club would want to move. As for Mansfield Town, why would Dan Crowley want to join them? Being in League One isn't a good enough reason. They'll soon hit their limit and struggle to be higher than mid-table.
  21. Cedwyn Scott did well last season. I don't think he's not good enough. He just needs a goal and some confidence. Remember, he's playing deeper now, and he's a striker. I can't criticise a player who works hard, even though he's playing out of position. I thought he did well against Accrington Stanley. Maybe if he had played longer, he would have done even better? Notts did everything they needed to do. Accrington couldn't play well or build momentum. They need to improve, but I don't think they'll be higher than mid-table. They need to sign better players. I think they'll be okay and address this in January. Thankfully, David McGoldrick has shown he's still a good striker, but I agree he looked tired after the first half.
  22. Paul Devlin's career is a brilliant example of resilience and passion. From his early days at Tamworth to his pivotal role in Notts County's successes and eventual move to Birmingham, his journey was marked by perseverance. His influence was evident both on and off the pitch, making significant contributions to every team he played for. His story serves as a great inspiration to aspiring footballers, showing that with dedication and hard work, dreams can become reality.
  23. Incredible work, @Chris! The Faces of PON is more than just a collection of photos; it's a historical archive of our beloved Notts County fans. The latest shots from the Accrington Stanley victory are bursting with emotion and pride. Your dedication to attending each game and capturing these candid moments truly exemplifies your passion for the club and its supporters. These photographs not only allow fans to relive their matchday experiences but also build a stronger, more connected community. It's genuinely uplifting to see familiar faces and new ones unified by their love for Notts County. Thank you for your tremendous effort and commitment.
  24. Millwall fans seem keen for Macaulay Langstaff to succeed. Their manager seems to be the bigger problem. That's the issue with signing for a team that doesn't play attractive football and has a manager who doesn't see where they need to improve to help their strikers.
  25. Greg Abbott always seemed like a good assistant to me, with a knack for spotting talent. Maybe not quite managerial material, but a nice guy.
