3 points away from home? Yes please. Here you go. Job done.

Welcome to Notts, Jevani Brown.
I'll pass on welcoming him. He's here and there's nothing we can do about that.

Match Discussion: Game 4 - The Robins (A)
It will be interesting to see how SM approaches this game. There was a more cautious approach away to Tranmere. It was more about not losing. Swindon are there for the taking. They aren't as poor as their results seem to indicate. They will improve IMO but it's a good time to play them. Notts need to press them. The one concern is crosses/set pieces. Swindon have the ability to punish us. That's an area that has to improve. I'm going for a 2-1 win.

RIP Sven
Sven was one of our own. He could have demanded his 5m but he waived it. That unselfish act should always be remembered. May Sven rest in peace.

Match Discussion: Game 3 - The Mariners (H)
Consistency is the key in this league. Notts have put together a couple of excellent performances. The only reason it's 4 points instead of 6 is poor defending from crosses/set pieces. That needs to be worked on. All in all, a fantastic result.

Match Discussion: Game 3 - The Mariners (H)
Grimsby are a decent side. They had an excellent 3-2 home win against Cheltenham. They also beat Bradford on penalties in the EFL Cup after a 1-1 draw. Their only away game was a 1-0 loss at Fleetwood. Notts ticked a lot of boxes against Fleetwood and on another day would have scored 4 or 5. A repeat of that performance and most teams will have a very difficult time against us. I expect Notts to take the game to Grimsby and come away with a win. 3-1 I reckon.

Match Discussion: Game 2 - The Fishermen (H)
On a side note, I thought Alex Bass was excellent yesterday. His shot stopping is top notch. He could do nothing about the goals. An excellent start to his Notts County career.

Match Discussion: Game 2 - The Fishermen (H)
I'm not sure how Notts didn't win that game, well I actually do when I think about it, an inability to defend set pieces, where have we heard that before...... There were plenty of positives to be fair. Play like that against Grimsby and it will be 3 points in the bag. Fleetwood are dogged. They stuck in there and defended brilliantly. David Harrington in goal is a Cork man like myself. His Dad was a great goalie for Cork City.

Match Discussion: Game 2 - The Fishermen (H)
Fleetwood are top 10 candidates IMO. They were decent against Grimsby. They showed character against West Brom. They went a goal down but kept plugging away and got their reward. Notts were solid for 135 mins and then reverted to the Notts of last season in the second half against Shrewsbury. There will be changes against Fleetwood. I expect a close game. Notts to win 2-1.

Match Discussion: League Cup - The Shrews (A)
Notts were amazing in the first half. Shrewsbury improved in the 2nd half but they didn't have to work hard for their goals. There was little evidence of game management by Notts. I felt Notts needed to mix it up a bit to keep Shrewsbury guessing.

Match Discussion: Game 1 - Super White Army (A)
A point away from home is never a bad result. The defence looked solid. Any team would miss Langstaff, but Notts would have won yesterday if he was still at the club. A poacher could be the difference between automatic promotion and the playoffs. A 15 goal striker will make all the difference because we won't concede as many goals as last season.
-
Match Discussion: PSF - The Reds (A)
It would be a real risk to start the season with that strike force. We should concede less but given the style of play, it probably won't be as many as people think. To give SM a fighting chance, another striker is required, one who'll score on a regular basis. Otherwise I can see a difficult season ahead and SM under pressure from day one.

1. That rain was biblical. I half expected Noah's Ark to float past based on Dan Westwell's videos. 2. Alfreton have a treasure trove of match programmes and they are just dumped in a room. That makes me depressed. They need to sort them and display them properly. Thanks again to Dan for the photos. 3. No friendly is meaningless but the real tests are ahead of us. We need a replacement for ML. We have gone from real promotion contenders to borderline promotion contenders. A 15 goal a season striker should see us back in the real contenders for promotion category.

Match Discussion: Game 46 - The Green (A)
One word. Woeful. Another mistake leading to a goal. Also not scoring against the bottom side in the league. We lost 3 out of 4 to the relegated sides. This Summer is massive. We have to get the recruitment right.

Match Discussion: Game 46 - The Green (A)
FGR's relegation is a big set back for their owner's plans. Their new wooden stadium is being constructed with league football in mind. You'd wonder what their budget will be in the NL. With the right signings, they should push for promotion. The NL is wide open next season. It feels like the season has flown by. It certainly hasn't been boring. Goals flying in all over the place. A defence that would give you high blood pressure. I'm looking forward to a trip to Carlisle next season. The castle, the cathedral and the football. Heaven......oh yeah, I think we'll win tomorrow......
-
Match Discussion: Game 45 - The U's (H)
I think he'll go to Sunderland. He reminds me of Jamie Vardy in his prime. I think he'll play in the Premiership in the future, that's how highly I rate him. He's too good for League Two.
-
Match Discussion: Game 45 - The U's (H)
A win is a win. I'd be shocked if Langstaff was here next season. He's an incredible finisher. Some team are going to make a move for him.
-
Match Discussion: Game 45 - The U's (H)
Obviously I want Notts to win but if Colchester win, at least it relegates Sutton. That's a bonus in my book. The 2 least likeable sides in the division going down? I'd be OK with that. OK, FGR aren't too bad but their owner is a bit of a tool.....
-
Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Hatters (H)
The subs made a big difference but the damage was done in the first half. You can't concede 85 goals and expect to challenge for promotion. Stockport have conceded 44. Looks like Stockport are enjoying their night. Well deserved.
-
Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Hatters (H)
Stockport 3 up at half time. A stroll in the park. Notts have been poor. Individual mistakes again.
-
Match Discussion: Game 29 - The Hatters (H)
Stockport can win the league tomorrow night. I'd prefer if they didn't win the league win at ML, nothing against Stockport, they deserve to be champions but not on our watch please! It's a proper test for us. One we are more than capable of passing.
-
Match Discussion: Game 44 - The Saddlers (A)
Great goal by Nemane. 3 points on the road is not to sniffed at. It's just a pity we are out of playoff contention. It wouldn't have taken a whole lot to be in contention but that ship has sailed....
-
Match Discussion: Game 44 - The Saddlers (A)
Walsall ran into an in form Doncaster Rovers and came off second best on Tuesday. Walsall are a decent side. They took their chances when they beat us at ML in December. It will be a tough game. A point would be a good result. There's no reason why we can't go there and win. Jatta has to start. He has been an excellent addition.
-
Match Discussion: Game 43 - Sulphurites (H)
A well deserved victory against a side who were in form. Pity that's there's nothing left to play for. I suppose we can always laugh at Mansfield......
