  1. Overall, it seems that Notts is well-prepared for the upcoming season, with a strong focus on fitness, tactical awareness, and teamwork. It will be exciting to see how they perform in League Two and how they continue to develop as a team.
  2. I looked it up, supposedly it’s when a player has a slight knock on a muscle caused by playing, training a lot or both.
  3. I am very optimistic about the upcoming season. I have booked my Sutton tickets and am ready for the League Two campaign. I feel the squad has grown over the pre-season, and I am not too bothered about the results. The performances are what they are, and generally, I think we have done well. These will improve during the season. The key thing is the way the lads play together, and there are promising signs throughout the squad.
  4. This is great news to hear! I was anxiously waiting for us to strengthen our defence and signing Tipton feels like the perfect move. The fact that he's also adaptable enough to fill in as a defensive midfielder makes him an even better acquisition. With age on his side and having captained both the Under 18s and Under 21s sides, he comes with excellent leadership qualities that we can further help him cultivate. Excited to see how he will perform in this new environment.
  5. Welcome to PON @BeestonPie.
  6. The strategy that Williams explained, which focuses on in-house strength and preparation, is certainly intriguing. It demonstrates a great deal of confidence in the team and their abilities. It will be exciting to see how this strategy is implemented in the upcoming matches and how it affects the team’s performance. Williams’ approach to building on the team’s existing strengths and ensuring they are well-prepared for their matches could prove to be a winning formula. Only time will tell, but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on.
  7. I haven’t watched a good horror film in years. I don’t like these ghost trends or creepy dolls. None of them are remotely creepy; they just try to make you jump with cheap thrills.
  8. Persistence paid off for Notts, it was a dominant performance and a well-deserved win.
  9. A real loss for Notts County and BBC Radio Nottingham. Charlie, you will be hugely missed!
  10. A good game was played by two good teams. It was a vast improvement and I found the game to be very enjoyable. We had our chances early on, one of which we should have scored, but overall a good account was given. The atmosphere was much improved. However, can we cut out the anti-Forest songs in friendlies like this? It makes Notts look obsessed and generally as if we are jealous. It was only a pre-season friendly, not a cup game. Until we are equals in the league, such games like this are irrelevant to sing so much about them.
  11. Given that Forest is our closest rival, the club and players will be keen to avoid a heavy defeat. Whether we can stop them is another matter, as Forest has invested heavily in quality players. We need to retain possession and avoid giving the ball away as we did against Stoke. Hopefully, John Bostock and Matt Palmer will start together, as they complement each other well, with Bostock providing cover for Palmer.
  12. I hope Southend and their fans can weather this storm. It would be a shame to see another club go the way of Bury.
  13. It was a good exercise in that we created many of the problems ourselves. Yes, Stoke City played some great football, as you would expect from a Championship side, but defensively, without Aden Baldwin, we have no one with the focus to deal with quicker, more direct teams. Richard Brindley would be fine against League Two standard teams, but he does make rash decisions and commits himself when he shouldn’t. Kyle Cameron didn’t look good going forward; he gave the ball away very easily, and although he did some good covering and defensive work, he let the first half down quite a lot. It’s nothing to complain about, but it does show room for improvement. I don’t think Notts embarrassed themselves, but the second half’s team was much better.
  14. I would agree, but I think Luke Williams may have other plans. It would be nice to have an idea of what the starting 11 might be, but he may not know himself at this stage. It should be a good match, I wonder if the club has plans to stream it? It would be great for those overseas and unable to attend.
  15. Luke Williams seems to have a clear idea of his team's playing style and how he wants to maintain it while introducing some changes. This reflects his adaptability and understanding of the game dynamics.
  16. No doubt Matty Palmer is one of the best midfielders Notts County has had in years. A true linchpin.
  17. Williams' handling of the pre-season preparations makes me even more excited for the upcoming season. It seems like he’s putting a solid thought process behind every action. I’m looking forward to seeing how the team plays under his leadership.
  18. It’s great to see so many new and old faces getting involved just before the season starts. There’s a lot of potential, and I have enjoyed reading the site. The discussions and content are spot on. I hope more old faces return.
  19. The club feels like it should do. It’s always on the front of moving forward and trying to compete for promotion. We have had 4 very good years. Let’s hope our return to the EFL will see a 5th year added.
  20. His move to Scotland didn’t work out. He suffered two injuries if I am right in thinking that. Suffering those setbacks will put other clubs off from taking a chance on him. Scunthorpe United may feel they’re the right team to help him back to playing.
  21. Good interview. Some of the comments weren’t all that different from the one Notts did when he first joined. The spin on him not caring about money has been caught on, but it shows the quality of PON when it was written here first.
  22. David McGoldrick gets my vote. I think his return will turn out to be a masterstroke and just the vibe the signing gives easily makes him my favourite signing so far.
  23. Many of the better shops have been replaced by poorer ones that are similar. Woolworths was an iconic store to shop in, Dixons could be a good place to spot a bargain. British Home Stores is another iconic store that has gone. Department stores are dying off; many good places have gone.
  24. This is fantastic news! I’m thrilled to hear that Dan Crowley has joined our squad. He seems like the perfect addition to our team. His technical abilities and experience at Arsenal will definitely bring some great quality to our side.
  25. It's great to see Crowley embracing his individuality as a player. Far too often, young talents are saddled with huge expectations when compared to established stars. Can't wait to see him in action for Notts County!
