  1. The departure of Charlie from both Notts County and BBC Radio Nottingham is a significant loss. Charlie, your presence will be greatly missed and your absence will be deeply felt.
  2. A real loss for Notts County and BBC Radio Nottingham. Charlie, you will be hugely missed!
  3. A good game was played by two good teams. It was a vast improvement and I found the game to be very enjoyable. We had our chances early on, one of which we should have scored, but overall a good account was given. The atmosphere was much improved. However, can we cut out the anti-Forest songs in friendlies like this? It makes Notts look obsessed and generally as if we are jealous. It was only a pre-season friendly, not a cup game. Until we are equals in the league, such games like this are irrelevant to sing so much about them.
  4. He could do a job, young enough to learn from a season on loan with us and as said before me he could fill in a bit of space at the back.
  5. Given that Forest is our closest rival, the club and players will be keen to avoid a heavy defeat. Whether we can stop them is another matter, as Forest has invested heavily in quality players. We need to retain possession and avoid giving the ball away as we did against Stoke. Hopefully, John Bostock and Matt Palmer will start together, as they complement each other well, with Bostock providing cover for Palmer.
  6. This is concerning, and I hope the club can secure its future. It would be a shame to see them go the way of so many other clubs.
  7. Yes, that was a clear red card offence. If memory serves, their player tried to blend into the crowd of York City players to distract the officials. It was an obvious aggressive elbow. I remember Chicksen going down and asking the referee if he hadn’t seen it, which led to a brief discussion and ultimately a yellow card.
  8. The situation with Barnsley needs to be addressed and resolved. If clubs are expected to follow the rules, why should they be allowed to accept money from sources unknown to the Football League? It raises suspicions of something untoward happening.
  9. I hope Southend and their fans can weather this storm. It would be a shame to see another club go the way of Bury.
  10. I prefer the away shirt. It’s nice, but I wouldn’t spend over £100 on two football shirts. If they were still priced at around £40 each, I would buy them without hesitation. Pete did say that the club stuck to the same amount despite believing they would sell more, they just didn't order more because of the extra stock that they felt wouldn't move as quickly. If the club gets in additional stock, it will probably be far less than when first ordered.
  11. Football has lagged behind in addressing mental health issues, despite their prevalence among players, often forcing them to retire early. I wish Dele Alli all the best. Some may dismiss this as an excuse, but such attitudes perpetuate the stigma and discourage players from seeking help.
  12. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. It's good to have you here, @Kevin May.

  14. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. It's good to have you here, @Jones10.
  15. What time did Chesterfield leave? I can’t see many Notts fans leaving to miss the celebrations and go taunt them. I also think that after the celebrations had finished and the fans had started to exit Wembley, Chesterfield should have long been gone. What would have kept them there?
  16. I don’t think suing them will stop Treads. It might make them compete harder and force better changes out of them. Elon Musk isn’t a very well-liked man at the moment.
  17. I think a 30-page programme is more than enough, but even an 8-page one will still have ads inside, I bet. I would pay more just to not have so many ads. That’s one of my only gripes, along with the paper quality.
  18. I do think Luke Williams should have started with what he felt would be his starting line-up. The youngsters could have come on, and it would have given more structure at the back. Notts didn’t play well until we made the changes. I am not one to complain, but I think all these complaints could be handled better. I feel sorry for the young players who are being criticised. They were thrown into the deep end against a very good team. Williams is right that we need to improve defensively. We can’t afford to get away with things, and knowing he can now take action is reassuring. He seems upset, even though he speaks calmly. Fair play to him for saying he has to do better, but losing to Stoke City isn’t a major concern.
  19. It would be selfish to want Archie Mair at Notts, as he could eventually become the number one goalkeeper, but he has expressed a desire to play week in and week out, which he wouldn’t get here. I think Gateshead have signed a solid addition to their team and I wish both him and the club well.
  20. Fantastic! I wish more pets could be like this. It’s great!
  21. Sacked by Patrick Vieira and brought back by Roy Hodgson, Derry never deserved to be sacked in the first place.
  22. Absolutely, there’s no reason for it. I think some of the Derek Pavis fans just like to complain because it’s the only thing that gets their voice heard. I would rather encourage and support than see youngsters and a team that fought for our promotion get abused for losing a friendly to a Championship team.
  23. I wish the club would work more closely with local breweries. I know they have worked with Magpie Brewery, but there are many others and it could help reduce costs while giving more profit and extra options to fans. We change suppliers every 5 years. Carling isn’t new to us; we’ve had them before and fans wanted to get rid of them when they started supplying slower stock.
  24. Welcome to PON, the community and site are great. I hope you enjoy being a member @MagpieRob.
  25. @Fan of Big Tone Do you think the laptop would be usable with an SSD installed, rather than a mechanical hard drive? It would be a shame to destroy something that might be able to be repurposed. Once the HDD is removed, there’s no trace of you.
