  1. It will be fascinating to see if Notts can pull together and deliver a stellar performance, or if the game will unfold slowly with few opportunities. Regardless of how it pans out, I’m hoping for the best possible result.
  2. This captures the essence of Notts, it’s all about family and community. The 70s was a golden era in our club’s history, and it’s wonderful that younger fans, like Wendy’s granddaughter, are now witnessing a more successful team. We experience good times and bad, but we always remain a community that supports Notts County to the very end. This is a heartwarming story indeed.
  3. I’ll take the game as it comes. All I ask for is effort and responsibility in defending. We’ve seen this for most of the season, so I can overlook the occasional mistake, even if it’s disappointing. I hope Luke Williams encourages the players to go out, make a statement, and aim for a clean sheet.
  4. It’s great to have Adam Chicksen back. Hopefully, he’ll get more time on the pitch because he can be a valuable player. To bring out his best, he needs to play consistently. We haven’t seen his best this season, mostly due to his intermittent appearances.
  5. Ben Davies truly demonstrated his value in our first season back in League One. His performance that season was exceptional, especially considering he was part of the Munto League Two winning team. Alongside Neal Bishop, he formed the bedrock of the squad. Watching him play was a real treat, and he was not only an impressive player on the field but also a genuinely nice person off it.
  6. It was a disappointing match overall. Notts must improve their away game performance as we’re not earning enough points to keep up with the leaders from home games alone. Conceding two goals in the manner we did was frustrating. It was a relief to pull it back, and it seemed like we were on track to win. However, poor defending cost us the match, and the first half was repeated without any comeback. The two penalties were another source of frustration due to clumsy decisions to go for the ball at inopportune times.
  7. @Piethagoram I believe many fans would concur with you about Tiernan Brooks. It would be fantastic to see him as our first choice, but I think he’s still a bit off from that. Perhaps once Sam Slocombe retires or moves on, he’ll be in a better position to compete with Aiden Stone. However, it seems like he’s being groomed for a long-term role.
  8. He’s a crucial part of what makes Notts function so well. When he joined us, his presence made a noticeable difference and the way he simply plays his game is admirable. While the loss of Matt Palmer is the biggest setback this season for me, I’m relieved that Bostock’s injury sustained against Mansfield didn’t result in a lengthy absence.
  9. Solid defensive tactics combined with a booming forward line – the County really has it going this season. Wimbledon is going to find it hard to penetrate our defense. Let’s bag this one, lads. I have got my money on you, Notts!
  10. With AFC Wimbledon playing at home, they’ll be eager to reverse their current form. I’d suggest a particular strategy for this. Does anyone have an update on Adam Chicksen’s injury status? I heard he’s dealing with a minor issue. Personally, I’d prefer him over Will Randall, as I believe Chicksen would be superior both offensively and defensively. Slocombe Baldwin, Brindley, Cameron Nemane, Bostock, Randall Crowley McGoldrick Langstaff I’m eagerly anticipating @Ohh Tommy Johnson's insights on the team lineup, as well as @menzinho and @Fozzy’s analysis of the game and the opposition.
  11. The fans forum was a pleasant surprise, offering fans a wealth of insight. Although I had initially planned to request an invitation, I ultimately decided against it. To be honest, I didn’t anticipate the event to be so well-organised. I had assumed it would be a more basic affair, primarily focused on the new CEO acclimatising to the club and soliciting ideas. However, it appears that everyone had done their homework. Impressive indeed.
  12. Dan Crowley has proven to be an essential addition to the team this season. From the very first match, he has not only met expectations but has continually evolved in his role. His performances on home turf never fail to leave a lasting impression. Crowley is the kind of player who can ignite a spark in the game, contribute significantly to the play, or even bring it to a triumphant conclusion. He is, without a doubt, an extraordinary player.
  13. I believe Jodi performed well with the limited time he had, contributing to an attack that nearly succeeded. I concur with the previous opinions too, he should have been in the starting lineup. It leads me to wonder if they were hoping England would fatigue, but I think England outperformed their performance on home ground. Jodi shouldn’t feel too disheartened, at least he had the chance to play.
  14. I’m optimistic about the victory. Bradford might step up their game, but realistically, we should be gaining maximum points against the teams that are struggling so far. Indeed, Bradford will pose a challenge and most likely turn it into a competitive match, but it’s up to us to leverage our home advantage. Please, no disturbances, Notts fans.
  15. It's uplifting to see the firm commitment of Williams to Notts County. In an era where loyalty seems to have taken a backseat, he stands tall as a symbol of dedication and resilience. In the world of football where headlines are often dominated by tales of betrayal and blatant commercialism, Williams' story is indeed a breath of fresh air.
  16. Amazing to see the contribution of both Tommy Lawton and Roy Carroll to the proud history of Notts County on the same day, many years apart. Lawton for his debut goal and on-field brilliance, and Carroll for his extraordinary commitment to the club. It's stories like these that revive the golden era of the 'beautiful game'.
  17. @Piethagoram Don’t take it personally, but nobody can hold anyone responsible for it. It wasn’t Sam Slocombe’s fault that Crewe discovered that looping balls would put them behind our defenders. If there is any blame to be assigned, it falls on our defenders for not managing the threat. I don’t fault Jodi Jones, but you can’t leap like that in the modern game. To point fingers at Slocombe merely seems like comments making him a scapegoat.
  18. The outcome and loss don’t matter, nor does exiting the EFL Trophy. We have more important matters to attend to, and that’s not a joke about defeating Grimsby again. COYP!
  19. The acquisition of Dan Gosling appears to be a commendable move by the club, especially considering it’s only a short-term arrangement. This provides both the club and Gosling an opportunity to assess his compatibility with the team. If his performance proves satisfactory, I would be in favour of extending his stay for the remainder of the season. Beyond that, it remains to be seen what the future holds, but overall, it’s a promising signing.
  20. While my preference would be to concentrate on the league, the result was indeed positive and demonstrated the Notts team’s spirit in handling high-level opposition. I don’t believe anyone will linger on the performance; we must make allowances for our current situation, and winning games is paramount. I hope this victory bolsters the players’ confidence to improve our league form, providing them with a form of reward for their efforts.
  21. I hope that we can embark on this match with a strong determination to perform at our best and strive for victory. It is important to remember that no team is unbeatable, and Notts County should not feel intimidated by any League Two opponent. The same mindset should apply to Gillingham as well! Let's eagerly await the outcome and discover which team emerges victorious.
  22. It’s a moment of immense pride for Notts, as the 5000th game is a significant milestone in the club’s history. While Luke Williams is correct to keep his eyes on the present, we can’t ignore that we’re making history here. So, here’s hoping our players bring their A-game, take charge, and deliver a performance that’s not just good, but one for the books.
  23. The upcoming match will be tense. I hope that the regular supporters who have made this season’s away games so impressive will take advantage of the free travel, rather than those who don’t contribute to the atmosphere. We’ll need all the support from the black and white army. It’s likely to be a close game, so we need to make sure we’re ready to score and that the players stay on their feet.
  24. It's evident that he has pinpointed exactly where we are going wrong. Our attack is intimidating, scoring with relative ease against our opponents, but the chinks in our armour become apparent when facing a counter-attack. Our defence seems to falter and lapse into mistakes when under pressure, causing us to concede. Stallard is right, this is an area we need to focus on in training. We must learn to maintain consistent pressure without compromising on our defensive stability, managing transitions effectively and limiting individual errors. Only then can we become a well-rounded team capable of maintaining our position at the top of the league.
  25. In the previous season, we experienced several matches like this one. Although not as many goals were given away, we did lose to teams we could have potentially managed better. Luke Williams is familiar with the team’s abilities, so I’m confident we can rectify the recurring defensive errors. From my perspective, we have the potential to rise to the top, but we find it challenging when faced with strong teams that apply pressure. Despite Swindon Town’s strength, I believe we will perform better in our match against them.
