if you had the money to get involved in owning a football club
I have often thought about how tempting it would be to buy Nottingham Forest, just to prove a point after the way they treated Nigel Doughty. It would also be about restoring the balance and making Notts County the top club in the city again. Still, I donβt see any sense in throwing money at football. Too many people get involved for the wrong reasons, and they often take the credit when things go well. When they donβt, it turns sour quickly, even if your intentions are good. Itβs not something Iβd want to put myself through. Iβd much rather spend the money improving Nottingham and supporting causes linked to the Magpies.

Congratulations Alassana Jatta & David McGoldrick
He deserves it. His form may have dipped towards the end of the season, but he maintained an impressive level for most of it. Along with David McGoldrick, he kept us pushing towards the top with their touches of magic.

MaΓ― TraorΓ© to Notts
He looks like an interesting addition to the team. With talk of his speed and ability, it should prove to be a benefit. I see that Stuart Maynard says he will need time, so I hope nobody is quick to judge Mai Traore. However, he will get the respect he deserves from us. I am sure he will prove to be a popular addition, just like Eli Sam did.

Does Notts have an emergency Striker?
Thankfully, we shouldn't need to rely on a player to fill in as a striker, but as others before me, there will be options within the squad. If we are without an out-and-out striker, someone will surely step up. Could this be how Matty Platt gets his first goal for the club? Joking aside, someone more suited like Jodi Jones would do fine.

Jordan Chiedozie
Horrible news, hopefully the coma can be treated, and he won't be in it for long. Scary thoughts are coma can last from days to years. I wish him well!

How Curtis Edwardsβ Journey Took Him from the Northern League to League 2 Stardom
Fantastic write-up about Curtis Edwards' journey from almost not making it to playing against Arsenal in the Europa League. Now that he is with us, he will be part of what drives the club forward, and his experience offers the squad a lot more than just his background story.

New Faces, Big Ambitions: How Notts County Are Preparing for the Run-In
Really enjoyed this breakdown of the squad. Maynardβs patience with signings is refreshing, not just throwing players in for the sake of it. TraorΓ©βs signing is exciting, but I love that thereβs no expectation for him to hit the ground running straight away. Squad depth is looking stronger, and McDonald stepping up has been vital. Good to see young players like Whittaker and Johnson getting recognition too. If we keep up this level of organisation and belief, we could be in for a strong finish to the season.

Stuart Maynard Hails McGoldrickβs βInfectiousβ Work Rate After Nottsβ Fourth Away Win
That first-half performance was absolutely top-drawer. We took control after the early pressure and looked so confident on the ball. McGoldrickβs goal was pure class, and Jattaβs movement caused them problems all game. Thought we should have had at least one more before half-time, but credit to the lads for seeing it out. Gillingham made a fight of it late on, but the defence stood strong. Four away wins in a row is no joke, this squad is really coming together now.

Cedwyn Scott leaves Notts for Carlisle United
I'm disappointed to be honest, but I hope the undisclosed fee is enough to bring in someone committed to helping us achieve promotion to League One. I wish Cedwyn Scott all the best at Carlisle. It's going to be interesting to see how they end up at the end of this season.

Happy Birthday Neil Warnock
76 years young and still a legend to us at Notts!

Match Discussion: FA Cup - The Posh (A)
@Robbie Spot on about them being a threat. Itβll be crucial to not give away cheap possession in dangerous areas, or weβll be punished. I think if we can frustrate them early on, the crowd might get on their back, and that could work in our favour. Like you said, itβs all about taking our chances when they come!

Sam Austin: "The Magic of the FA Cup Is Alive and Well"
The FA Cup truly is magical, and Samβs reflections highlight exactly why it matters so much. His story about nearly beating West Ham is a reminder of what underdogs can achieve with belief and confidence. Heβs absolutely right that playing against higher league teams like Peterborough United will test Notts but could also boost morale if we perform well.

Football is Tough, But Weβre Here for Him β Stuart Maynard on Supporting Cedwyn Scott
Cedwyn Scott has shown real courage by speaking openly about his struggles, especially in a sport like football where mental health hasnβt always been prioritised. Stuart Maynardβs comments about supporting him, both on and off the pitch, show just how much the club cares for its players. Footballers are often seen as invincible, but theyβre human too. Itβs heartening to see Notts stepping up for Cedwyn during such a difficult time. I wish him all the best in his recovery and hope we see him back doing what he loves soon, but only when heβs ready.

Match Discussion: Game 10 - The Valiants (H)
The atmosphere at Meadow Lane can be electric. With a full house, the support could make a real difference. Stuart Maynardβs tactical choices will be interesting, especially with returning players. Let's make the Lane a fortress!

Opposition View: Lifelong Port Vale Fan Steven Crank Previews Notts County Clash
Reading Steven's memories took me back to some iconic matches. Football is all about these cherished moments, isn't it? Let's hope Notts creates some unforgettable memories for us on the pitch this Saturday.

"I Believe We Can Push On": Kellan Gordon Eyes Success at Notts County
Kellan Gordon has the chance to further impress. Given that we do have other options, he will need to ensure that he continues his current fine form. I do agree that he has a good technique when it comes to crossing, but his work rate impresses me. I am pleased he believes Notts can push on. That attitude is important, along with the work ethic.

Notts County's Tactical Evolution: Maynardβs Insights Before Facing Port Vale
Itβs great to hear Maynard emphasising squad depth and tactical flexibility. The injuries to McGoldrick and Grant are worrying, but it sounds like weβve got a solid plan in place to manage them. Bassβs performances have been a real highlight so far, and itβs refreshing to see a keeper who not only commands his box but also contributes with his kicking. Maynardβs approach of not always playing from the back makes sense, sometimes youβve just got to mix it up and keep the opposition guessing. Looking forward to seeing how we line up against Port Vale, especially after the Carlisle win!

Who's Your Notts Man of the Match v Carlisle?
Alex Bass really showed his quality last night. That late save to preserve the clean sheet was top class, and his handling of crosses throughout the match was excellent. He commands his area with confidence, and that relieves so much pressure on the defence. Carlisle had some dangerous moments, especially late on, and without Bass in goal, things could have turned out differently. Heβs been consistently solid this season, but last nightβs performance really stood out for me. Definitely Man of the Match material!

Jones and Crowley make EFL Team of the Week (that's all of the EFL, not just EFL2)!
I am pleased that both players got acknowledged in the team of the week. Itβs nice to see Notts players getting in, and the selection bodes well for the club amidst its signs of progress.

MK Dons boss targeted by Carlisle Utd
I donβt see the sense in the decision, but with him now moving closer to home, he will need to hope the move pays off. Itβs not good to see because he had every chance of turning things around at MK Dons, but heβs up and left. Not much respect for a manager who does that so early in the season.
-
Curtis Edwards Injury
I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he doesnβt get distracted whilst out injured. We need him coming back match-sharp and able to impress upon his return. I am sure he will continue to be quality.

Where are they now : Trialists at Coalville v Notts July 2021
Alex Kirk looked half decent. I thought he stood out, but the rest seemed rather average, to be honest. I wasnβt all that impressed with the lad from Derby. I donβt remember his name, but heβs not mentioned in the list.

Notts County Sells Out Allocation for Chesterfield FC Clash
Itβs a bit of a farce, and I am sick of seeing complaints about the number of tickets given. Chesterfield probably knew this would happen. Teams have no interest in allowing large numbers of travelling fans to attend when the numbers become significant. 999 tickets sold, letβs get on with it and make it count.

Notts Countyβs Unpredictability Key to Success, Says Stuart Maynard Before Gillingham FC Test
Our attacking threats from set pieces have been a key strength this season. The way the team has worked on different attacking strategies is commendable. Itβs not just one player carrying the team; we have multiple players stepping up and making crucial contributions. I feel confident going into the Gillingham match. Theyβve had a solid start, but if we play to our strengths, there's no reason we canβt get a positive result. Itβs great to see Meadow Lane turning into a fortress again!

Match Discussion: Game 5 - The Owd Reds (H)
It finished 2-0, credit to Accrington's defence and the outstanding performance by their keeper. Some of his saves were top class, which kept them in the game to some extent. Notts had plenty of time to choose where to attack, and at times it was a real joy to watch. It was 90 minutes of good football with many positives. I hope Alex Bass can start getting the clean sheets heβs aiming for.
