I think we’ve got too many midfielders now. It feels like the club either doesn’t see the strength we already have or is worried about injuries. Having cover is useful, and I don’t blame Tyrese Hall at all. I hope he does well here. Still, with so many midfielders, it’s hard to see how they’ll all get game time in the league. I agree with Liam, we need a striker.

I didn’t go to the match, but I watched it on TV. I thought Jacob Bedeau was brilliant for us. He stood out and made a real difference in the team. He was a big asset and looked confident throughout. I think he had a very good game. It’s a pity we didn’t get all three points, but the squad gave it everything. I agree there are a few strong choices for Man of the Match.

The disappointment of missing out on the play-off final and the hopes of promotion is affecting the site and fans’ expectations about the club strengthening for another push into League One. The media team could do better at keeping fans informed, but even if they share more interviews and updates, some supporters will accuse them of trying to distract us. They really can’t win. There’s a lot of work going on ahead of the new season, and I’m confident the club is in safe hands. The club’s approach might be different, perhaps focused on sustainability or improving other areas, but I don’t believe our squad lacks the quality to succeed.

I like Matt Palmer and I don’t think he’s a poor captain, but there’s always a chance someone else might bring more out of the team. I’d give it to Ollie Norburn. He’s got good experience and I don’t mind that he’s new. The club spoke highly of him, saying he’s a leader who wants to win, similar to the praise Martin Paterson got when he arrived. Letting Palmer get on with his game while handing the armband to someone like Norburn might be a smart call.

@liampie, we’ll have to wait and see how things pan out, it’s still early. But having clubs held more publicly accountable, instead of managing everything behind closed doors, is a step forward. A regulator being able to check records should make a difference in how things are run.

The goalkeeper spot is one area where Notts really needs to give fans confidence. It won’t be easy for whoever steps in, as I expect there’ll be constant comparisons to Alex Bass. Signing someone just as good would help calm nerves and make people believe he’ll step up when the defence is beaten. You can’t fake that trust, it builds belief throughout the team. I hope Notts does go for an experienced option. I’d be happy if it’s someone from abroad, as long as they’re the right quality.

Hello, @YoopEyes. Welcome back in this case! As a former team member, I can tell you that there is a lot of people who cares about the club here. Everyone has been incredibly friendly with me during my years here, and hopefully you will have the same experience. It's always good to see people returning back to the fold. Enjoy having a say on Notts and other topics.

When we don’t have the ball, they get more players behind it and stay well organised. You can tell FC Kaiserslautern are a strong side. Notts, on the other hand, look all over the place. We’re making simple errors and playing in a rush. They can defend with just three players and still look solid. Notts can’t do that, and even when we’ve got numbers back, our players seem more focused on watching the ball than trying to win it back.

Three central defenders really doesn’t suit the way our opponents are set up. The gap in quality and the amount of space they’re able to work with makes it feel like we’re a couple of players short. It’s almost like we’re playing with seven men. I don’t think it’s a system we should be sticking with. Even though I know it’s likely the plan for the league, switching the formation makes more sense. At the moment, it’s less about defending properly and more like we’re being pulled apart and completely outnumbered at the back.

Barnsley feels like a bit of an odd choice when you think about the other clubs nearby he could’ve joined. It’s not the most obvious move, considering he had options closer to Nottingham. That said, they do look strong and could be one of the sides pushing for promotion. Still, I’m surprised Derby County didn’t make an effort to bring him back. It seemed like a chance they might’ve taken.

I’d only just started to enjoy the warm weather without feeling like I was melting, and now another heat wave’s rolled in. Typical British weather, if we’re not under grey skies, we’re moaning about the sunshine.

Martin Paterson came across really well in the video. He seems keen to push the idea of putting in effort rather than dwelling on mistakes. Staying focused and giving it another go could lift spirits, instead of letting past errors sit in the back of your mind.

The club has talked about wanting to head in this direction, and it was something the Reedtz brothers pointed out when they took over. Still, we haven’t really pushed forward, even with the excellent work coming from the academy. When you see someone like James Sanderson close to making the first team, you want him to get that chance and do well. We’re not far off from seeing a young player slowly break into the starting line-up. Fans do need to be patient though. The manager has to be bold and trust that giving youth a chance will pay off. The club also has to present the player well so supporters can get behind them. Having someone go from the academy to the pro team shows there’s a proper route. More League Two clubs should be doing the same, not just Notts.

Politicians will usually back something like this because they’d rather not have football issues popping up in Parliament all the time. It helps them move the focus elsewhere. This is a positive step forward, but it’ll probably take about ten years before it really makes a difference. Change in football tends to move slowly, especially when money is involved. Some clubs have been throwing cash around for years. Teams like Manchester United still carry massive debts, yet somehow keep spending like it’s nothing. It’s a cycle that needs fixing.

I do like the design, but it's not really something I'd wear myself. I think it will be quite popular though, and most of the comments I've seen on social media have been positive. The white part might have looked better in a golden yellow. It doesn’t quite feel like Notts, but I get that it's based on Nottingham University, so that makes some sense.

He looks like a good signing and seems keen to play every week. That attitude should help push him to perform well and work hard to keep his spot in the first team. I like how the club has been shaping the squad so far. I’d really like to see someone come in to replace Didzy and also bring in a new keeper after Bass, but I’m sure that’ll happen in time. Barry Cotter looks a great addition, even on a loan deal. He’s played for Barnsley and has League One experience, which should be a big help.

The German teams will be a tough test, offering a different way of playing. I think Martin Paterson will take a lot from these games and find them useful as he prepares for the season. I don’t pay too much attention to the results in friendlies. It’s more about what the team can learn and how each player performs. It helps show who’s sharp and ready for the start of the season. The squad should enjoy the challenge. Playing against strong teams like these should be a good experience for everyone involved.

Wishing Morecambe the best. Fingers crossed they get the sale sorted and nothing gets in the way of the club’s future. It might be tough for them to climb back up, we know that struggle all too well, but a proper takeover could at least stop the slide.

Ricardo Moniz seems like he still has something to prove. Out of all the managers and head coaches we've seen over the years, he stands out as one of the most active and driven. Hopefully, this time things go right for him.
