  1. Meet the Players. Katie Platts: Striker. https://nottscountywomenfc.co.uk/teams/Notts-County-Women-FC/players/664274
  2. An introduction to the players. Philipa Davies. Goal Keeper. https://nottscountywomenfc.co.uk/teams/Notts-County-Women-FC/players/661907
  3. Due to the way the FFP rules are structured there are three leagues in one in the Premier League. There are also two leagues in one in the Championship. At this time League 1 and League 2 are still relatively fair to all clubs in those two leagues, but if what we have seen in the top two leagues is allowed to continue, the same thing will happen with the richer clubs always at the top and the others just making up the numbers in league 1 and 2. We have seen how Wrexham are benefitting from having rich owners. Some say that it would be impossible to introduce a turnover Cap, but I don't agree. A Sensible Cap for each league would benefit all the teams, not just a few with the present system. I also believe the Premier League should filter a lot more money down the Football pyramid than they currently do. We also need to make sure home grown players are developed to the full, and our national teams remain competitive and this means more home players in the Premier League. Clubs should be encouraged to play more home grown players.
  4. Latest Weather forecast. Stay safe.
  5. Who's talking about airline travel to Europe @Piethagoram? I'm talking about Sea Ferries being the cornerstone of travel across the Channel and North Sea decades before the Channel Tunnel was built, and in my opinion there is still an important role to play for the Sea Ferries.
  6. The only thing I would say about this Wrexham story is that again, it is symptomatic about the current problem in our domestic football, the haves' and the have nots' That's why there should be a Cap on turnover for each of the four top tier Leagues.
  7. The Channel tunnel has reduced Ferry traffic and that in turn has lost jobs and that is a big regret. The loss of British Sea jobs to cheap overseas labour is for another Topic, as that development is not really directly connected to the channel tunnel. It's symptomatic with what has been happening in big swathes of our industry.
  8. British ingenuity & inventiveness at its best. The codebreaking at Bletchley Park was arguably one of the top 3 reasons why Germany was defeated in World War 2 & we owe our freedom today to all those who worked at Bletchley Park.
  9. The Eurotunnel was founded on a good principle to connect mainland Europe with the UK, but it has become a huge white elephant. When I've visited Europe, I've always used the Ferry system, and it's much more interesting and fun to cross by Sea Ferry The Sea Ferry system has always been the cornerstone of cross channel travel. We managed very well before the Euro tunnel and we would manage if it wasn't there.
  10. Brit watch summing up the day. Cameron Norrie won his 2nd round match to advance to the 3rd round, however, Katie Boulter, Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu lost their 2nd round matches today leaving Norrie the only Brit left in the Singles.
  11. A win for Henry Patten and his Partner in the Australian Open Men's Doubles.
  12. Cam Norrie comes from 2 sets down to reach the 3rd Round.
  13. @Burnz3r0 It is very hard to imagine how immense the Universe is. The simplest way of describing how immense it is, is to compare the Earth to the size of an Atom and the Earth represents the size of the Universe. An Atom is too small to be seen even by the most powerful microscopes, so that miniscule size just puts things into context. By the way, the new discovery is truely awesome.
  14. Andy had a big hip problem at the end of 2016 and it got worse in 2017. He had two operations the last one being resurfacing of his hip. Normally this would have been career ending, but Andy proved them all wrong. His comeback has been fraught with setbacks but he managed to get back up to the middle forties in the rankings, but he is slower than at his peak and this has not helped him. I think he'll retire after Wimbledon this year.
  15. Welcome to PON@Harry Buckley great to have you on board.
  16. At the end of the day we have player assets at the club that are pretty valuable at this time. I hope that we don't have to sell those assets, but that will always be an option if needed. I believe the brothers have the club's finances well in control anyway.
  17. Latest forecast.
  18. I'll start you off with mine. There are so many to choose from but my favourite is "The Goodies", slapstick at its best, utterly silly and ridiculous that you could never stop laughing. Here's a flavour.
  19. Stoke City 2 Notts County 2, First Division, May 1982, featuring Trevor Christie penalty & a screamer from Pedro Richards.
  20. Some players love to play footy in the mud.
  21. Jason Lee, who played for almost everybody, well almost seemed like it. He only played two games for Stockport. Jason played 69 games for Notts and scored 16 goals from 2006/8
  22. This is very exciting news 2 new appointments to work with our Notts County Women and Girls. Ashley Eastman appointed as FDP lead U7-U11 at NCWFC Danny Gordon appointed Head of Coaching at PDP at NCWFC.
  23. Well, we are halfway through Jim's 2nd week of being Interim Head Coach, and it very much appears that he will be in charge for the Stockport match.
  24. Mine is an Android. Have had Smart phone Android since Smart phone inception. They have always served me well. Can't conceive paying more than £150 for a smart phone.
