  1. i have no issue with harry kane and if he is selected to play, when hes not doing well then its a managers problem. england fans like to pick at players, support is not easy to give by some but the moment success is had, then they love it and try to shower themselves in the glory. its silly. we should encourage and support our players, no matter what.
  2. i think we might only learn about jodi jones after tomorrows efl trophy game. it could be after the game in the post match comments. it would be a big talking point, i just hope jodi is okay.
  3. when you go into a pub and the barman or whoever asks if you want to order a drink. even though the food till is at a different end of the bar, or even if its not. what can i get you is much more appropriate.
  4. it looks like the team has improved a lot since last season and have started very well, the limit in promotion from the league seems to limit things but its positive signs. i am pleased the pies picked up another win!
  5. its a good signing for boreham wood, issue for me is not his ability or how he performs but he just has not settled. the aberdeen move seemed like a dream move, but i think it happened to early for him. he would have done better to sign for a league two team, get minutes and more experience and stay settled for a few seasons before making the step up. he never seems to settle, so how does consistency come? stockport did not really make use of him, same at colchester. this is his chance to do that.
  6. these are great pictures! the nest looks busy!! pleased to see @Turkey_Twizzler and @ARLukomski. well done, @Chris.
  7. i dont think the defeat dampens the mood, but we do need to accept results like this and just work on winning what we can. i think most wont get carried away, but some always will. this defeat for some will be the end of the world, but its not. notts played well and controlled the game. it was a single goal that made the difference, but a draw would have been fairer, there is nothing we can do now.
  8. if we can, should we recall junior morias? stuart maynard has highlighted the lack of cover we have, jevani brown did okay in spells but someone with real energy and quickness might help us. if jodi jones is out, then we can push brown into the team and have morias on the bench or starting. i think maynard said everthing we fault and came across well. i am glad most fans are not blaming him.
  9. notts played well enough to get something out of the game and created chances which should have at least got us a point, i dont blame the missed chances because the decision to rule out sam austins goal seemed poor. it was day light robbery, he was clearly on side. when we appealed for theirs to be offside, the referee gave marching orders to our players and even gave verbal talkings to some. when they appealed, much after it seemed a restart would be happening. the decision quickly became offside, why were they allowed to speak to the linesman? i did think notts dominated for the most part and played the better football. they might have done well on the counter but without the offside goal of theirs, they would have drawn. defensively they were not brilliant, just good.
  10. hyping himself in an interview, he should have stayed and worked under alan hardy. they would have worked well together.
  11. managers used to disappear once they were of a certain age and it paved its way for new ones to come up. just like players, there are obvious signs when a player should retire. i think its the same for most managers, i mean for every neil warnock who can help stabilise a team, there no hopers who are just used as @Chris mentioned for their reputation and contacts. i think 65 is the point where clubs should seriously think is this person good enough. if they are, great but if not, just retire.
  12. jodi jones, with dan crowley a close second. i thought alex bass did well too.
  13. gillingham played okay, but i thought we did enough to get something from the game and the decision to rule out sam austins goal just seems like daylight robbery! we had many poor decisions which went against us, but i thought we gave a good account. two fairly even sides, but i did think notts dominated for the most part.
  14. Loving how Meadow Lane has become a fortress this season! We’ve got to keep this momentum going.
  15. its going to be a test for sure, i think we stand every chance of doing well because we have improved a lot this season already and we just need to make sure any chances are finished. gillingham might have a good defence, but they will need to be at their best, as will we tomorrow.
  16. they just want a winters break dont they, i think it would make football less interesting and give the richer clubs more time to hold an advantage over the other clubs. there is no congestion at that level, just managers afraid not to have their best players for the selection week in and out.
  17. its good to see that we have some players returning, that is important with the loss of curtis edwards. i am encouraged to see what lucas ness is like, but i dont think he should start ahead of lewis macari. macari has been brilliant at the back for us so far!
  18. @menzinho the point about the academies is spot on, i would agree with this having an impact on some players. i would say that there is an art to tackling, which is becoming harder to see these days. mind in the 80s i am surprised more injuries was not caused with some of the thugs on the pitch.
  19. i dont think we will see it beaten either until we are more successful. league two is limited, but its possible. when was the last time a league two team had someone who scored 120+ goals?
  20. i think sometimes players have to focus on their performances instead of where they could be going or discussing contract talks, i can imagine the business side of football can be quite dull. i dont have much worries about crowley extending, so we can afford to give him time. it feels like we can go places, plus he has scored more goals for us and his made over 50 appearances which seems to have flown under the radar. i am glad to read his comments, he is a notts player and he goes by the name of...
  21. i would not be able to say either way because hes before my time and i dont know how he would personally approach managing a team in the modern day. i think its interesting to see what people have to say, but i dont know.
  22. we have looked different and creatively we have grown as the season progresses, i am more nervous about chesterfield than i am against gillingham. i am sure they are a decent team but its away games where i think we need to be the most wary about. meadow lane seems to becoming the fortress the club has spoken about.
  23. we have come on a lot since the national league days, i think it should be a good game. its games like this which i feel nervous about more than this weekends fixture against gillingham. it will be nice to see how we compare against chesterfield but i trust that notts fans will go in good spirit and large numbers. its a shame more cant be allocated though.
  24. i cant think of anything that i grew up with that is not available now, it might change in 10 or so years though. i think its the trouble with time, things become unpopular or forgotten, maybe not even marketed well and then they go.
  25. i saw him fall awkwardly and i thought he was just not fast enough to get the ball, he did go down at first like he was going to appeal but he did not. he got up and looked okay, even after the game he walked round clapping and waving. its a weird one to be honest, as only cedwyn scott left the field looking somewhat of a concern which @Piethagoram mentioned. i did not see it, but it explains scotts absence. its a blow but i really dont know what to make of it.
