  1. we will always remember tony hateley and pon will preserve his legacy with the alumni written. brilliant player, its a shame we did not have footage of football back then as we do now.
  2. hello, welcome to the pride of nottingham @John Wardle. its great to have you here.
  3. most of our signings are players who just need to be played in the right environment, but we are good at developing players. we gave kyle wootton the platform to succeed and in comparison we capitalised on how much macaulay langstaff was on fire with gateshead. signed him, then figured out how to change our play slightly to maximise the amount of chances he would get.
  4. it sounds silly, cardiff and swansea would dominate it until wrexham grew bigger. all the welsh league teams would struggle, so i dont understand why they would want this because they would risk potential income from the games the bigger teams are more likely to win.
  5. this is what annoys me about some notts fans who complain too much that we have sold players, its keeping us in existence and ensuring we have the funds to move forward. their owner is playing a risky game, because once those debts start to catch up with him. all the blame will go onto him and the football league by their fans. its clear they are spending money and have been doing well to establish themselves in league one but refusing to sell players is not always a sign of an ambitious club.
  6. i do wonder how much of these is a result of overspending when they were in league one, you dont just inherit debt that cripples you and i do feel sorry for morecambe. i just wonder how many of their fans encouraged the club to build their stadium and to sign players, when they should have been encouraging other supporters to get the club to live within its means. i do hope they survive but a phoenix club usually sees history not repeated.
  7. a lot of effort has gone into researching and documenting it. 👍
  8. honestly david mcgoldrick played well, his goal was very well taken but i thought jacob bedeau played the most significant part and outperformed everyone.
  9. i think when notts enjoy playing and have that belief they can be quite unstoppable, you can see the difference in the likes of david mcgoldrick and nick tsaroulla really deserved his goal. i thought notts did everything well, i am not bothered about conceding the goal. it might have annoyed some fans at the game, i did notice some miserable reactions but you have to take the points and move on. also, great to see matt palmer back in the team even if he had to wear the facial guard.
  10. yeah i would not bother dealing with any of that @Chris. stick to watching the copy channel even if they are taking the script of the main channel, least that way you dont have to deal with the bs.
  11. curtis edwards has come back just when we needed his experience, i am sure his time over in the scandinavian leagues will aid us with our push to league one. the story of his raise from almost giving up, to falling in love with football is a great story. i am glad we signed him as he could still be playing for woking, luckily for us he joined notts! i always assumed michael doyle recommended him to us. great article @menzinho.
  12. the new signings have made such a huge improvement but i like that jacob bedeau insists that its a team effort, he has fitted in very well and i am sure it wont be long before he scores. there have been a couple of times where he came almost close, but his build up play is of great value.
  13. its great to have curtis edwards back, his injury came when he was really growing in his role in the team but its good to have that energy back. the fact we can slot him in where we need, and he just picks his performance up from that opportunity shows the quality he brings.
  14. ian sounds like a right nutter! great advert for him to start selling those pork pies i think. 😆 i hope with his stand he at least contributes in some way to the club.
  15. eagle eyed as always @Piethagoram. good interview, i like what stuart maynard said. he was wise to say that he never felt pressure from the board but you could see that there have been times when it has come from fans. it would be nice to think we can secure promotion and really crack on with maynard next season.
  16. its going to be a busy spell for notts, i hope the amount of games we play does not come at the cost of what points we can pick up due to the fixture backlog and amount of games needed to be played.
  17. would it not be productive for awareness to include what abuse he was getting, am i being blind that both linked articles dont actually provide any references. it is very sad but i just think if you are going to go on public record, both stuart kettlewell and the club could address the issue directly by revealing the actual abuse. otherwise it could be that fans were just unhappy with the results and i am sure some went too far, that is not acceptable but imagine what it was like for jamie fullerton when he was here? i did not like him but there was a large amount of unacceptable abuse, i remember reading a fan saying he would hang him if he did not leave on facebook. 🤬
  18. what about other clubs? i know there are local grants to help, i recall reading that with wrexham but just how much as the uk government spent on helping spurs, everton and the likes? manchester united should build it out of their owners money. i think its wrong to spend tax payers money on this type of stuff.
  19. i think the decision for the pair to leave is silly on their part, but i do wonder where they will end up next? i dont think its bad thing for us, i personally dont think either had what we needed and i think stuart maynard could get better support from an assistant. are they trying to leverage their time here to become a first team manager and assistant together? i dont know, just seems odd on their part.
  20. @Robbie witold pilecki? also this is a sad but interesting read. Surviving Hitler: A Boy in the Nazi Death Camps ANDREAWARREN.COM William Allen White Award Winner Overview: Jack Mandelbaum was 12 years old when the Nazis invaded his native Poland in 1939. Though Jack was Jewish, his family was not particularly religious... such a sad time in history that did so much damage to the world.
  21. looking at wiki he was their director of football, before that the assistant manager at cheltenham. before that a fairly decent managerial cv, so i dont think he would find issue if he wanted to get back involved as a manager or dof. i forgot to say, his experience could be useful to stuart maynard and with his past history of playing for us.
  22. @menzinho i would say he fits the mould of our scouting system, with his age being 22 and how well he did at accrington. for a young striker, 5 goals in 17 games is not that bad. imagine what he could score within a more competitive squad, or the way we play.
  23. with him having already played there and his experience in the efl, it makes perfect sense for him to become chesters captain. i am delighted for him. i hope hes enjoying his time there and managing to get back into wales more frequently than he did when he was here. it must be nice for him to be closer to his family.
  24. @BradtheMiller: you can copy and paste your video url into the post area like tone did. its good to see you back at meadow lane and its nice to see your vlog on the match day against us and bromley. if you look before meadow lane becomes busy, straight at the kop you will see @Chris and @super_pie sat within the lower part o of county.
  25. i hope they do well, i have to admit i have not checked on their position in the league for awhile. i need to catchup with your discussion on it, @Robbie.
