  1. i think mark stallard is always the voice of reason, his comments are fair and i hope we can reset as a fan base ahead of the weekends game again fleetwood. our strongest squad should be much calmer and focused.
  2. i think we should have played stone and kept bass on the bench. i think @DangerousSausage mentioned in the match discussion that he thought it would be best to keep bass involved as a way to settle him into his new starting role.
  3. i have hi jacked a computer at work which i am going to safely logout of from pon and clear the cookies etc. work is fine with staff using them for personal use on their breaks. im going to treat myself to kfc when i finish work. with it being cooler and nice out, i really crave crispy chicken. i think its all the training i have had to do today.
  4. i have said it before i balance my hopes and expectations based on how the season goes. you can have a good squad on paper that does not quite meet its potential but that is just football to me. i want to see notts playing well, performing well in the league but when it does not work out to plan i wont give up my support. there has been some dark times that notts has had to face and i think that if some fans or supporters cant accept how a season pans out without getting all mardy or negative. then i do wonder why people would choose to support notts. there is nothing wrong with saying why you feel notts should have done better but personally i accept it, and go again. if you start believing your expectations are the only way a club should do, you are leading yourself into misery. balance things as they happen and reflect with the thoughts of improvement.
  5. i gave up with the app, its just the same as the os but easier to load when the app itself does not slow down. i think in its current state its awful. the potential is there but its disappointing.
  6. @Fan of Big Tone isle of wight is a stunning place, have you ever been to the isle of man?
  7. someone i know who supports watford said macaulay langstaff kept bumping into his own players and looked like a headless chicken. he said that he looked to be struggling with the pace and intensity of the game. i hope he starts to find his feet with them.
  8. i think most fans appreciate and respect what the reedtz have done and continue to do for us. there is a pocket of silly fans who think they are not investing in the squad etc, which is just silly. i think those types of fans are the ones who get into the ears of owners or the club, making them think actions need to be taken when its better to procced as you are. i dont think notts does this, but it does risk that clubs might overspend or make mistakes which these people seem to love to jump on.
  9. i think its petty because if clubs made sure they had a good range of reputable retro kits, i dont think fans would seek them out in the demand that makes it viable for them to be manufactured in the first place. if there isnt the demand, then i dont see how they would sell. at the same time i think that if there is demand, some fans cant afford the prices and may look for cheaper alternatives. i think clubs should not take any action against the fans who wear them or evict them from the stadium. that is harsh and i disagree with it. they should put more effort into making sure they shut the fake suppliers down, whilst making sure they themselves can cater for this demand.
  10. Five articles published on the Pride of Nottingham you may wish to read. You may have missed these comments by our members from articles published on PON. @Countyman @NottsCountyKev @Sir Magpie @RetroPie @thommo @Benji @Robbie @allardyces tash @Fan of Big Tone @upthepies
  11. i would have played aiden stone over sam slocombe but i am not the manager, i think some of our fan base loves to single out a player and batter them with harsh comments. yes, hes not the best now but he has served us well during his time. i think some of the comments on social media, they are uncalled for and harsh. the same things would be said about stone or whoever played had mistakes been made. its a bit fickle.

  14. i am encouraged that tom who did the opposition view mentioned them needing a striker. it looks like they can score, but if we have our best keeper and defenders starting, i think it would be more difficult for fleetwood. on paper, i think we have the better players but they might perform better as a team. we cant write them off.
  15. i remember the name but not so much about him playing for notts. one of those come and go loans. @Piethagoram did you know patterson got named in the team if the week for sunderland? hes doing well for them in the championship.
  16. i have family on the isle of wight and man, those are lovely mostly unspoilt places which i have enjoyed visiting. isle of man i used to go once a year before I turned 18, to visit family. one of my aunts has a house near the sea, so the beach is almost on its door step. skegness is a lot nicer than people say, you just need to know where to go but the standard of food is nice. my family has a caravan on richmond which has been taken over now. i have a weekend there every now and then but have not been so far this year.
  17. it will be interesting to see how we do to fleetwood, i think league games will be different because we are unlikely to make changes for the sake of it. the players who did come on against shrewsbury could have easily started. defensively at our strongest and with alex bass in goal i think we will be fine.
  18. i respect that stuart maynard acknowledges the mistakes and takes responsibility for the players. it could have turned out much differently, but shrewsbury did come knocking on the door and unfortunately they got back into it. notts managed to take the game to penalties, jatta did his best to level things and to score his pen. i just wished we had managed to do better in the shoot out.
  19. i am pleased to read that they might need a striker, its something we could do with despite the good options we have. it feels a bit more unknown with it being at home but i am glad we got off the mark with scoring against shrewsbury. i think it will be a tough game. thanks tom for answering pons questions!
  20. i am not to dishearten by it, we did well to get back into the game. we made mistakes to gift our lead but we worked hard to take it in the first place. i think going to penalties is always a lottery and yes, we should have maintained the lead, but they are a league one side. jatta shows up at the right time, having scored now we can focus on sunday.
  21. jatta did well to get us back into it and to force penalties, i wont be disappointed with mcgoldricks casual penalty. i think he wanted to calmly place it, making their keeper think he would hit it harder. edwards should not feel down either. its a respectable defeat i feel. just a shame we did not maintain the lead which we worked so hard for.
  22. very pleased with how notts are playing, its showing how important it is that we are defensively solid. yes shrewsbury had one a chance to score that went over but we are 2-0. we are managing the game well, making shrewsbury work. notts needs to keep on top of it.
  23. i wish the womens team well, it does sound like they are making sensible signings.
  24. he looks like a great addition to the team, really calm headed and good on the ball. very organised and quick to get back to defending. i thought he worked very well with louis macari and matt platt, its good to see the defence having that level of understanding of each other. its early days but this is one of the most promising parts.
  25. i forgot about this, so i wont be able to attend the game. i hope we make sensible changes but dont weaken our lineup, its important we take the league and fa cup seriously. shrewsbury will be a challenge but we have played them and know what it takes to perform well against them.
