  1. yeah hes better than eastleigh, either he just felt like they would be the right fit or he was offered better wages. i cant imagine a league two team not being interested, i mean it might be that he was not likely to start but surely some club at our level would see hes a good player. i wish richard brindley all the very best.
  2. its not a name i am familiar with myself, i assume hes ex notts. must before i started watching, i remember lee and jeff. just not andy hughes...
  3. @Wheelbarrow repair man supposedly they are paying more than £700,000, i have read that its likely that they will be paying instalments and other addon bonuses. true or not i dont know, but if its true a bid was rejected. maybe this one is worth more than that? we can only hope its more as its a done deal.
  4. @gtownjohnno i dont know but it does not harm to have the spirit. last time i remember was photos from the aston villa cup match when jack grealish gave his boots to one of our young fans. stuart maynard gave a good interview.
  5. it really does put things into perspective and it does feel like an end of an era. i am very thankful for macaulay langstaffs contributions. i feel lucky to have seen him play for us because he has been unlike any other striker we have had. i hope we can put the disappointment of his departure behind and have a good go at promotion now.
  6. well there wont be any macaulay langstaff sightings unless fans are wearing his name on their shirts. it will be interesting to see how we lineup and just how much junior morias may feature. cedwyn scott has to start up front, either him or jatta. i think the first half we will field mostly youth players. see how they cope and manage, then throw on some first team potentials.
  7. wow, i thought i had welcomed you @Morten Johansen. i know you have been posting which is fantastic, but i should have taken the time to say hello. i hope you enjoy pon.
  8. it looked like it was more true the way articles were being released, but i had hoped it was wrong. we have to find a way to strengthen and pick ourselves up. its sad to see him go, but we have the goals he scored and the moments we have overcome from being a club on the verge of destruction to a promotion hopeful. one player does not change this, but macca will always be a god at meadow lane.
  9. matt palmer is the obvious answer, i think the vice captaincy should be considered between cedwyn scott and jodi jones. those are two players i think would do the role well.
  10. very saddened to see macaulay langstaff leave, not sure what i make of the speculated price but i wish him all the best. i hope notts can find a replacement which pleases people, do think cedwyn scott would benefit from playing as a striker.
  11. good luck to lucian mahovo, i hope he makes the best of this move. its such a promising one for him.
  12. i certainly can see why fans feel this has been handled poorly by the club. i think in hindsight notts wanted to get fans on side for the new season, appointed macca as the captain prematurely. they should have waited for the pre-season to begin and then they might have seen if any bids did come in. it looks bad for notts at the moment. i wish macaulay langstaff all the best, hes been an incredible player for us and its been brilliant watching him score for us. he will be a hard player to replace but we do have the memory. we now know slightly how it felt for gateshead fans.
  13. no, he wont. hes gone to millwall.
  14. its always sad to see a young player leave but at least this is a step in the right direction for him, he should be able to go on and make a good career for himself. norwich city will be a fantastic opportunity for him.
  15. i think saying he is not a leader is harsh, he led us well but he clearly wanted the role. did it make him a good leader? i think so at times but i do understand where @Simon Clark is coming from. it does look like a poor attitude to request a move asking losing the captaincy. yet we dont know what has been said behind the scenes. notts has moved to sign centre backs, we speculated that he might have to fight for his place. being replaced as the captain, then to potentially lose your space in the first team i can imagine hurts. ideally we would see him stay and fight for his place, prove to us that he is a leader on the pitch. its the right move though, as it gives us a chance to fully move away from the issues our previous centre backs presented in their mistakes and having a more defensive minded back three should fix that. kyle cameron has been a good player for us, he deserves to be remembered for all he has done but we have to accept it and move on. in comparison to potenially lose macaulay langstaff, it does not compare. i think that says a lot.
  16. i am understanding that we will at times lose key players, its how we go about it that bothers me. signing in players does keep things different but its important to have players here for the long term that our fans can lookup to. sure someone new will become a player of this type, but losing macaulay langstaff potentially like this ahead of the season it does disappoint me. that will pass, i will in time be happier and more myself. right now, if frustrated that notts could potentially drop such a negative bomb on its own fans.
  17. i might be rare in that i looked forward to the start of a week, i do like weekends but work is very fulfilling for me. the week ahead should be about what you can do different but i can understand its a routine for some.
  18. pleased to see him and other brits doing well in formula one racing. its nice to see him win at silverstone.
  19. macaulay langstaff will be sold at some point, ahead of a season that has given some promise makes things feel a bit false if he is to leave notts like this. i would not blame langstaff but i would feel notts made a mistake in the process of conducting the sale. you dont make someone likely to leave become the captain. lets hope that this is all just false news, but i feel that the negatives of the information might just be something that grows. its a shame because things seemed very promising until now.
  20. it does not look good, a lot of fans on social media are unhappy. i would be disappointed but the information of the sale could help, i dont think an undisclosed fee would tho. its all ifs and buts right now, i really hope that its not true. misinformation via the internet is very easy to escalate. if macaulay langstaff leaves its something we have to get used too but its the way its conducted which is what causes the mistrust or negative feelings. i know we would have to sell him at some point but it does not mean it should be like how things are being reported.
  21. i am pleased labour won, and won easily. i don't have much faith in the other parties but the tories had to go. everything that we can be passionate about the tories would have ruined further. i was worried the nhs would fall under them. we have the chance as a nation to try to give a few years of rebuilding and hopefully we can get back on track. politics needs to wake up from this. the tory party need to pull themselves out of their crisis and try to do right by the people. tho the tories always seem very focused on their friends and the super rich, than the average worker like me.
  22. that is due to the editor. i remember chris advising people to copy the message, then to refresh. use to the clear text function that shows at the bottom. then past the message back in, you should be able to delete the @whoever by pressing the delete or back key on android. @KB1862 raised this up last if i recall.
  23. i completely agree with that. politics and religion [within reason] should not come between people, especially good people. i prefer people to be passionate about their beliefs, but also understanding. i do have to admit, i dont understand fptp political system is. hopefully nobody has fallen out. as i say i can see why politics is important to be discussed but only when feelings can be avoided from being hurt. everyone here on pon, falls under good people who are passionate about notts. politics might not align but they are still good people.
  24. politics is about democracy, democracy should not have anything in it which forces people to vote. we are supposed to be free people [within reason]. i think if the uk were to try to force people into voting it would make politics even worse than it currently is. a vote is a right. its not something that should be compulsory. what would the repercussions be for not voting? jail time? fines? politicians could restore faith and then more vote, but there will never be anywhere 95%.
  25. i dont always feel comfortable discussing politics, but i do wish people would not fall out or allow thing to become heated based on views. if something goes off topic, please try to keep it on track. free speech and to a level politcs shoud not be discouraged but if it can be discussed nicely then its the only answer.
