  1. i dont care that jurgen klopp is german, i am sure he would do the role proudly and with honour. i just dont think foreign coaches are the best fit. if we were to look elsewhere, klopp is one i would agree with. knowing england, we will end up with roberto martinez due to his experience having managed belgium and portugal. amongst the english clubs he managed, but again i think it would be the wrong decision. i am not sure what english managers i would like, eddie howe would be great one day but not right now.
  2. imagine what would happen if wealdstone beat us? all those against stuart maynard would be out, rumours will emerge of him losing on purpose etc. or, people could just accept we are in pre season and results mean nothing. after the wycombe win, i think this will be another good run out to see how the trialists are doing. i think sooner or later we may see one or two permanently join us.
  3. i lock my front gate when i am home so nobody can gain access to my property. nobody wants to try to claim over the wall, as it has thorns and other nasties but looks nice from the outside.
  4. people saying 'mansfield reject' crawley paid a disclosed fee, that says he had something that they thought was worth paying for and he helped them gain promotion. now arriving to us on a free. give him the chance to prove himself without coming out with dumb negativity. he seems a good option going forward, we need to remind ourselves that aaron nemane and jodi jones are very defensive. if we can attack and hold the ball, along with a solid defensive back three then the wing backs only need to support. i like the fact he seems to have plenty of pace, that is enough to cause players to make mistakes. hopefully he settles and shows he is a good player. seems a good signing to me.
  5. the articles from 2003? so what was the final outcome? it sounds like notts had some people involved that knew how to bend things to their favour, not many fans i know speak that well of darren caskey though.
  6. its just wrong, to officiate a game and then celebrate with the winners. unbiasedness goes out of the window when this happens, as i could not trust someone who had done this to make the right calls in the game. then again, referees do love the limelight.
  7. notts easily. i like watching major tournaments england are in and i do hope that one day in my life time that they win something, but notts is far more important to me. i am far more hopeful that notts will make it to the championship or higher, even if its just for one season. otherwise i am content just seeing notts aiming to go further.
  8. i have started to come down with a bug, i feel sleepy and blocked up. i plan just to rest until i go back to work.
  9. here are some comments which deserve to be read: @Super_Danny_Allsopp @Wheelbarrow repair man @menzinho @Countyman @TheSkipper @Robbie @super_ram @RetroPie @BESTpie @DangerousSausage
  10. it looks incredible but i think its a sad day when a club moves from something traditional to a ground that is not quite the same. in the future if we do this, i hope we would base the design on what we have in some way as a tribute to the former ground.
  11. roberto martinez would not even sub ronaldo, but the thing about southgate he needs to be braver and more decisive. it was clear that harry kane was not working but i think some managers feel that can change at any moment. kane was not the only issue with how england performed, he has become an easy escape goat that is being blamed. a large portion of it is fair, but its like southgate he sees things differently to us. cole palmer needs to integrated into the squad. i would like to see our national team being able to switch in game to 2-3 different formations. one of which is to play two strikers, as i think kane cant always play this role by himself. we need someone like watkins who has pace.
  12. i am more inclined to see what gareth southgate wants and the english fa. there are not many english managers who i think would do as good or better than southgate, i dont want us to look overseas and have someone come in trying to change everything about the national squad. foreign coaches dont tend to get the best out of england despite their reputation. throwing managers like sean dyche is not the answer because he did well with burnley but i dont believe he has earned it or proven himself worth the national job.
  13. we come very close to getting a youngster into the team, but then we abandon it. sam osbourne was always compared to established players but when he played he did score, plus he gave us something different. its a mistake to expect young players to equal or better than established first team players. you have to give them time to grow, so they can reach their natural ability and if we do things right, then signs of more potential will come with time. selling academy players is one thing, but if they are good enough elsewhere. then they should be good enough for our level, i just think notts fear playing them regularly and things have to change if we want our own young players.
  14. i started following notts after his arrival but it seems like a lot of money for the club to spending on one player. was it the early 00s where notts had a lot of financial issues? i feel sorry for him, because its the person who signed him who should be pointed at but i cant help but think it played part in our money troubles. again not tony hackworths fault, i am sure he tried.
  15. thank goodness he did not take charge and ownership of derby, had he, they might not have gone back up to the championship so soon.
  16. oh dear, i hope you managed to get them to your car okay after. just like notts, you need to reinvest in a new wheelbarrow @RetroPie.
  17. they seem to be flying off the creators work bench.
  18. should read egg on their faces. someone will be getting a stern telling off for this mistake.
  19. @Fan of Big Tone my grandma had a dog like the one in your photo, he would always get excited as family members approached her property well before the door and would try to get everyone to take him for a walk. lovely dog. that is a nice picture, tony!
  20. i am not sure what the england media team expected fans to think, its not like we would wear the away shirt. our kit is virtually all white. so its common sense.
  21. when i first learned of nico williams, i always thought he was english. hes a very good player, which given the chance will help spain. hopefully not on sunday but he could be a big part of their future.
  22. i would love this too! i find the idea really relaxing. i have read about the afternoon tea steam trains which are costly but would be a once in a life time experience. its a shame that they are not appreciated by some youngsters, but i suppose it can be hard competing against technology.
  23. i dont want to sound like one of those fans with unreasonable expectations, but with the sale of macaulay langstaff we do need some signings which restores the faith and ambition of pushing for promotion from league two. i dont know if its planned to save, reinvest into wages or whatever. yet if the club could spend 100-200k on bringing in further talent. i think fans would shut up about langstaff, maybe even get behind stuart maynard more. thing is, clubs will believe we can pay more for players with the sale, so we have to be careful and spend what resources we have carefully. yet it would signify good intentions and go along way to adding further quality to the squad.
  24. i hope everyone has a great weekend has booked time to watch their tv come the final of the euros on sunday.
  25. @DeadlyMacca and yet the hand ball technology did not detect anything. they will use hard to determine angles, but the footage i have seen in articles was the angle we saw the game in. i dont think saka handled the ball at all.
