it wouldn't surprise me if we did call the game off, so that could focus on the weekend but that is not very notts like. i dont think the result matters, but the performance does because that can cause poor performances in the league. i think we have to play at least 5 regulars, give aidan stone the chance ahead of sam slocombe. i dont think it will happen tho, but i would because stone is better with the ball at his feet.

i dont think we need to dwell on the missed chances, but mark stallard is right and goals change games. just like poor officials which was the real talking point. i was hoping that would be pointed out when i came home after the game listening to the radio but it seems only bbc radio nottingham discuss controversial moments when its forest. its a bit disappointing, but mark stallard is right with his comments. i know he spoke about it during the game, but it was absent at the end.

i think we might only learn about jodi jones after tomorrows efl trophy game. it could be after the game in the post match comments. it would be a big talking point, i just hope jodi is okay.

i dont think the defeat dampens the mood, but we do need to accept results like this and just work on winning what we can. i think most wont get carried away, but some always will. this defeat for some will be the end of the world, but its not. notts played well and controlled the game. it was a single goal that made the difference, but a draw would have been fairer, there is nothing we can do now.

if we can, should we recall junior morias? stuart maynard has highlighted the lack of cover we have, jevani brown did okay in spells but someone with real energy and quickness might help us. if jodi jones is out, then we can push brown into the team and have morias on the bench or starting. i think maynard said everthing we fault and came across well. i am glad most fans are not blaming him.

notts played well enough to get something out of the game and created chances which should have at least got us a point, i dont blame the missed chances because the decision to rule out sam austins goal seemed poor. it was day light robbery, he was clearly on side. when we appealed for theirs to be offside, the referee gave marching orders to our players and even gave verbal talkings to some. when they appealed, much after it seemed a restart would be happening. the decision quickly became offside, why were they allowed to speak to the linesman? i did think notts dominated for the most part and played the better football. they might have done well on the counter but without the offside goal of theirs, they would have drawn. defensively they were not brilliant, just good.

Loving how Meadow Lane has become a fortress this season! We’ve got to keep this momentum going.

its going to be a test for sure, i think we stand every chance of doing well because we have improved a lot this season already and we just need to make sure any chances are finished. gillingham might have a good defence, but they will need to be at their best, as will we tomorrow.

its good to see that we have some players returning, that is important with the loss of curtis edwards. i am encouraged to see what lucas ness is like, but i dont think he should start ahead of lewis macari. macari has been brilliant at the back for us so far!

i think sometimes players have to focus on their performances instead of where they could be going or discussing contract talks, i can imagine the business side of football can be quite dull. i dont have much worries about crowley extending, so we can afford to give him time. it feels like we can go places, plus he has scored more goals for us and his made over 50 appearances which seems to have flown under the radar. i am glad to read his comments, he is a notts player and he goes by the name of...

we have looked different and creatively we have grown as the season progresses, i am more nervous about chesterfield than i am against gillingham. i am sure they are a decent team but its away games where i think we need to be the most wary about. meadow lane seems to becoming the fortress the club has spoken about.

we have come on a lot since the national league days, i think it should be a good game. its games like this which i feel nervous about more than this weekends fixture against gillingham. it will be nice to see how we compare against chesterfield but i trust that notts fans will go in good spirit and large numbers. its a shame more cant be allocated though.

we are looking quite settled, it will be interesting to see how we do against gillingham but our start to the season has been impressive. it shows the importance not to judge so early on. we do need to protect the winning and undeated streaks.

gillingham are a good team at this level and its nice to see an insight into them from their fans, it shows how important we have to keep our eyes on their key players. that seems to be bradley deck, but both teams sound as if they have good defences. i know we can be wobbly at times but at meadow lane its been generally quite calm. thank you steve and david, good luck with your season after playing us.

i think if we can win and play well, it will lean into the belief that we could remain near the top throughout the season. its a long way for all of us, but our form has been very good and its for gillingham to prove themselves to go top or to beat us. pressure might be on us to maintain our position, but in front of meadow lane i think we would always have a good chance of doing that. i hope its a good game and gillingham fans come in numbers.

we have a lot of players who if training right and performing well could start, but we do need to make sure the team always has the quality in all areas. i think the squad is shaping nicely, that if we can maintain players, we wont have to get rid of many at all and replacing those places should be much easier. league two does rely on you to be able to balance the squads playing time, i think part of our fall last season was due to players not being rested properly. something stuart maynard is doing well with at the moment.

they are both players whos class can elevate the players around them and when the whole squad is one the same wave length, most teams will struggle. its encouraging how teams are finding us harder to play against, not that those 6 minutes would help my comment but the moment jodi scored the penalty it was clear that we do. i like mark stallards comments, as he speaks from the heart but comes out unbiasedly. very professional!

tbh i dont think taking robbie cundy off was a 'sacrifice' i thought he looked quite poor and taking him off, we played much better. i think stuart maynard is being a good manager by protecting him in the media but i thought everyone else looked really good. it was jodi show.

@Fan of Big Tone very good point, prior to the reedtz we always tended to see our better players leave. i dont count the two years we had under ah, but before that we lost so many goof players due to the state the club were in. alan sheehan for example, who went on to play in the championship. we are now able to retain our better players, yes some do leave but that is football. this is a great read @TheSkipper.

fantastic player, just so calm and focused. had he not got injured last season, who knows? we might not have done much better, but i don’t think we would have struggled so much. i can see why stuart maynard is pleased. he’s a big part of the jigsaw and overall picture of what this notts squad is about.

it did take some getting used to the pitch but i thought bromley did well since they were used to it, the start was a shock but i had faith that our quality would make a real game of it. the defence improved massively as the game progressed, in the changes helped to sway the game more in our favour and i think stuart maynard made smart choices. it was a joy to see jodi jones have that drive to get us back into the game. we really deserved to pull off the come back!

the news in the week that jatta, jodi and crowley were all fit to play was a huge relief, who knew they would come to be the important part of getting a victory over bromley. there was a lot of disappointment when we went down 2-0, i understand it because the feeling of hope just sunk. it came back when jodi jones got bought down, the referee was very quick to award it which made things lift. it was a good performance in the end. we worked hard to make sure that as a team we created chances but were able to get back into it. i thought bromley played some good football and made us have to work at it.

it was a great sign to get back into it, the penalty was a very poor challenge and i am pleased jodi stayed on to take it. he put in a very high performance to day and his reaction after the game was brilliant. his connection to the fans and seeing him with family and friends, its just great.
