what was jatta doing? the first goal was very well worked, i dont really make faults for that kind of goal. yet i think its jatta who could have got a header. for me if a player is front of the ball, then there is no reason not to react to defending a situation. cedwyn scott did get beat, but thats what happens and wrestling with a player in a penalty box when you have been out moved like that would be silly. for me, i think both could have done better, but its harsh to single out just scott when jatta with his size could have easily made it his ball. fleetwood were very good, a good team that worked well with each other and focused on getting chances. they were happy to sit back, which is a shame notts did not make the most of the first half. i hope we play with a more cutting edge against grimsby.

i am a bit nervous, because we can hold the ball and move it well but if teams work harder to score goals it looks like it would be us coming back into games. i would hope we could be a bit more creative, maybe go through the middle and times. if space presents itself for a shot from distance, consider having a go? so far, we have had players wait to shoot, where doing so from distance is only going to be blocked or deflected. notts needs to be a bit braver and creative especially in the first half.

its going to be a tough game, but it will be pleasing to be back at meadow lane. i hope we can give a positive start as our fans could make the game sound very lively with support. i will be chanting and joining in, so i hope the players enjoy the occasion and manage to get a good result.

i like how hes focused on the teams side of things and is not getting carried away with having scored, he looks a very bright and talented midfielder who could get us goals. being in the right place at the right time is only part of it but it sounds like he did very well in his full debut. i hope he has that spark about him against fleetwood tomorrow.

i think mark stallard is always the voice of reason, his comments are fair and i hope we can reset as a fan base ahead of the weekends game again fleetwood. our strongest squad should be much calmer and focused.

someone i know who supports watford said macaulay langstaff kept bumping into his own players and looked like a headless chicken. he said that he looked to be struggling with the pace and intensity of the game. i hope he starts to find his feet with them.

i would have played aiden stone over sam slocombe but i am not the manager, i think some of our fan base loves to single out a player and batter them with harsh comments. yes, hes not the best now but he has served us well during his time. i think some of the comments on social media, they are uncalled for and harsh. the same things would be said about stone or whoever played had mistakes been made. its a bit fickle.

i am encouraged that tom who did the opposition view mentioned them needing a striker. it looks like they can score, but if we have our best keeper and defenders starting, i think it would be more difficult for fleetwood. on paper, i think we have the better players but they might perform better as a team. we cant write them off.

it will be interesting to see how we do to fleetwood, i think league games will be different because we are unlikely to make changes for the sake of it. the players who did come on against shrewsbury could have easily started. defensively at our strongest and with alex bass in goal i think we will be fine.

i respect that stuart maynard acknowledges the mistakes and takes responsibility for the players. it could have turned out much differently, but shrewsbury did come knocking on the door and unfortunately they got back into it. notts managed to take the game to penalties, jatta did his best to level things and to score his pen. i just wished we had managed to do better in the shoot out.

i am pleased to read that they might need a striker, its something we could do with despite the good options we have. it feels a bit more unknown with it being at home but i am glad we got off the mark with scoring against shrewsbury. i think it will be a tough game. thanks tom for answering pons questions!

i am not to dishearten by it, we did well to get back into the game. we made mistakes to gift our lead but we worked hard to take it in the first place. i think going to penalties is always a lottery and yes, we should have maintained the lead, but they are a league one side. jatta shows up at the right time, having scored now we can focus on sunday.

jatta did well to get us back into it and to force penalties, i wont be disappointed with mcgoldricks casual penalty. i think he wanted to calmly place it, making their keeper think he would hit it harder. edwards should not feel down either. its a respectable defeat i feel. just a shame we did not maintain the lead which we worked so hard for.

very pleased with how notts are playing, its showing how important it is that we are defensively solid. yes shrewsbury had one a chance to score that went over but we are 2-0. we are managing the game well, making shrewsbury work. notts needs to keep on top of it.

i wish the womens team well, it does sound like they are making sensible signings.

he looks like a great addition to the team, really calm headed and good on the ball. very organised and quick to get back to defending. i thought he worked very well with louis macari and matt platt, its good to see the defence having that level of understanding of each other. its early days but this is one of the most promising parts.

i forgot about this, so i wont be able to attend the game. i hope we make sensible changes but dont weaken our lineup, its important we take the league and fa cup seriously. shrewsbury will be a challenge but we have played them and know what it takes to perform well against them.

i thought the changes he made helped bring us more into the game, i think defensively we look very calm and that focus needs to continue as we start to push in further into the season. the opening game was a good one despite the goalless draw. i dont think tranmere played that badly, they just struggled with our quality.

he sounds like one incredible player, i have seen pictures of west brom fans holding a huge banner of him. hes a great fit to the pride of nottingham alumni. rest in peace, jeff astle. your memory lives on and i thankful for contributions to the club i love.

i thought it was a very promising performance, tranmere made it difficult to score and i thought both teams gave a good showing. with tranmere being more physical, it was always going to be an issue to break them down. i think the subs helped to give us more chances, i just think within time we need to be more direct on goal. defensively, notts were superb. alex bass looks a brilliant keeper.

i did not think the game was boring, i thought it was lively but quiet at times. both teams did have chances, i think we looked the better side for most of the game. i wished we had caused more problems for the tranmere keeper, i do not think we really tested him but even though for the opening match you can see the work which has gone into training. at no point did i think we might be undone by lack of concentration or our own mistake. if we keep with this i think it will give more freedom in our attack, as we wont be worried about gambling at times.

i hope he fits in, not sure why we would need a fifth centre midfielder, it would be nice if he can play in other positions. he sounds like he's ready for a challenge.

i still think we can do well, i wished more fans would believe but i do understand how realistically some might be unsure. i just think theres an unfair amount of negativity. we need to see how we do and how the new players settle in. im excited!

love the detailed input @ARLukomski. how do you feel about aaron nemane going to mk dons? they look like the team thats really going for the league title. also, whats your thoughts on conor grant? seemed bransley wanted him in league one last season, i hope hes good defensively. this is a great insight, i dont think anyone could ask for a more detailed look, along with prediction on how the final table may look.
