the new site is very slow, i hope it improves because its barely usable on mobile and even with an app, i do tend to rely on the mobile site, or at least did when notts used to have one as part of the efl site. back when you could login to any clubs website with the same details. jodi jones has started to cut his socks. ????

i am pleased for jim o brien, it must be hard after retiring and at least being a coach will see him help the next generations of potential football stars. the role was clearly something he would be good at, so i wish him well and hope one day our paths do cross again.

love the detailed input @ARLukomski. how do you feel about aaron nemane going to mk dons? they look like the team thats really going for the league title. also, whats your thoughts on conor grant? seemed bransley wanted him in league one last season, i hope hes good defensively. this is a great insight, i dont think anyone could ask for a more detailed look, along with prediction on how the final table may look.

i believe its cedwyn scotts time to shine, he was missed last season just as much as matt palmer. scott sort of became a shadow to macca, so i do think fans will see him at his best and whilst macaulay langstaff is a goal machine. i think scotts relentless pressure and ability to win the ball back quickly will be a big part of our season ahead.

it will be good to be back to watching the action and i am looking forward to making the tranmere game tomorrow. i am hoping the squad go with a level of confidence, not to underestimate them but to play with confidence. i will be trying to generate supportive chants to the players.

only concern i have is if stuart maynard does not get off to a good start, i really want to see it work out for him and i do think hes a good coach but i just hope notts are not too big for him. the pressure of managing us could be a worrying point.

i am pleased we have strengthen our defence and looking at the league two table, i dont think anyone will be clear runners for promotion or will run away with it. i think it will be quite open and exciting, so ideally we can perform well enough and get those wins needed to be at the top end.

its good to be back! i have been looking forward to this fixture since the release dates of games. i am looking forward to seeing how we compare to last season, but it is early days but i am pleased with how we have improved defensively. i hope the squad can put on a good display, if we could start the season well it could ease some of our fans nerves. we have a good squad on paper, i dont know much about tranmere but i am sure they will be tough with them being at home.

i am pleased to see the return of the opposition view, thank you to joe for taking the time to answer. it does give us notts fans a glimpse into tranmere rovers. i will be sure to keep an eye out on omari patrick and luke norris. it will be my first time to tranmere so i am very excited especially with it being the very first game of the 2024-25 season.

@Chris spent quite a lot of time highlighting this back when nobody could say anything deemed negative towards jodi jones but its the truth. i think jj is better at defending compared to aaron nemane but its more about whoever plays at wing back should try to do the basics. try to keep in front of the ball, try to block crosses, avoid tugging on shirts, keep defensive position etc. i would like to see us start with a squad that would make us happy to face tranmere, it should be our strongest squad possible.

i partly wonder if its just stuart maynard trying to get a further insight on what changes work from off the bench, the team defensively was weak but against boston it should have been a closer result. people are saying that they scored for fun against peterborough and we should have fielded our strongest team but maybe we are trying to make sure the squad as a whole is on the right level amongst the squad? there is no point having a bench of players who are not quite match fit.

how many games do you think you will make this upcoming season? i know it might be hard with postponements to guess, but roughly it would be good to know what other members of pon might be able to make. all the home league games i should be able to make. i am hoping to complete my second season of all the away games too, but some might be difficult with work. if i cant make them all i at least hope to be around 40 games.

there is not something to fight for, when points are on the line players try harder. its like meaningless cup games, we dont go out to lose but there is little drive. i am not worried about conceding two goals, you do tend to give players more time on the ball and yorks first goal was a very well placed effort. it was a good game, notts played some great stuff at times and we did not seem out of ideas when it came to creating chances.

the brothers took us on in our darkest time being relegated into the national league and not only did they spend money investing in the squad but they have rebuilt notts into a promising and often exciting team to watch. i am very thankful towards them for returning us to the english football league and for giving us a lot to cheer about.

i hope we have a good incoming replacement because with the loss of macaulay langstaff and now junior morias being shifted out on loan we are quite bear up top. i am very disappointed, the p word would be more suited but that is just because i feel if the club is targeting a striker, i just feel we should let players out when we know we have them. football is funny, because we as fans see where the club needs to strengthen and for once the defence has been the main target. yet at the same time we have weakened ourselves up top which makes me unhappy. i am reserved enough to understand that we might be making a move for a striker but it does change how i currently feel. sometimes you lose out on a target and things can change.

i will make a donation, i have been meaning to do it from time to time. i like the idea of subscribing, those are very important options for fans who want to contribute on a regular basis. i would prefer not to make a fuss and just donate frequently instead.

i really hope we give the starting squad slightly longer than 45 minutes, maybe 60. then break the rest of the minutes up. give ourself something that our main 11 can get stuck into and build further. 45 minutes might be fairer, but as others have said we are approaching the season. trialists can impress still.

he cant really be judged in 20 minutes, he needs time to settle and i bet millwall did not create much for him. for 70 minutes, someone else played as a striker for them, i wonder what they did.

so saddened to read about it, i had seen ian mention his book and his wifes diagnosis when he was on twitter. he seemed very upbeat and wanting to make the best of the situation which is admirable. i really hope the family can enjoy the rest of their time together.

imagine what would happen if wealdstone beat us? all those against stuart maynard would be out, rumours will emerge of him losing on purpose etc. or, people could just accept we are in pre season and results mean nothing. after the wycombe win, i think this will be another good run out to see how the trialists are doing. i think sooner or later we may see one or two permanently join us.

@Fan of Big Tone my grandma had a dog like the one in your photo, he would always get excited as family members approached her property well before the door and would try to get everyone to take him for a walk. lovely dog. that is a nice picture, tony!
